I think 3 came up in my area of Pine Valley in San Diego County and I had all 3 come out to give me a bid along with 2 other siding contractors that could install Hardie Board. One bid was high, 3 bids were comparable and one was low. Turns out Mike and Jesus, owners of CertEx, installed our windows with another company 12 years ago but has since started their own company. I didn't choose CertEx because I worked with Mike and Jesus in the past. I chose them because they didn't blow smoke up my ass like other "Approved" and "Elite" contractors approved by James Hardie. I chose them because their price seemed fair. It wasn't high or low. I chose them because my gut said, "You can trust this contractor". Guess what? I was right. The team did an amazing job.
