For this updated review, I'm just going to give the bullet points. I've hit the point where I've lost my patience. 1) Quality of Services is seriously lacking or non-existent. When you spend the majority of the last 10 months with internet speeds dropping so low that you cant even download a 15MB file in a reasonable amount of time, you know you've got issues. 2) Professionalism is non-existent. Professionalism is not only about how employees respond to their customers, it is also about how your team conducts business. Frequently notifying your customers minutes in advance of a "scheduled" outage is not how you do it. That's poor management. Extremely poor management. So poor, in fact, that as a hiring manager, if I saw you were a manager at Safelink on your resume, it would be an automatic no go for me. 3) Poor Value. When you pay $100/ month for 20Mbps services that you only get a fraction of the time, that's poor value. I've all but exhausted my patience with this ISP. I'm one more last minute "scheduled" maintenance away from going to their competitors. An ISP should be more aware of their surroundings and start working like a professional organization. A professional organization schedules outages around low utilization hours and recognizes the state of events regionally, nationally and globally. By that, I mean that there are a lot of us who are working from home. Having some basic situational awareness would go a long way. It's almost like you forget that you're providing services to customers that pay quite a bit more for internet services that most mainstream ISPs charge their customers. Worst ISP I have had to ever deal with, have had problems constantly for over a year, between the network outages and then the issues with connectivity and maintaining speeds, everything about Safelink has been a complete joke. In one year I have had my antenna moved at least once after finding out (after 3 months of troubleshooting and constantly having to call) my antenna on my roof wasn't even remotely pointing at the tower providing services. Then deal with constant slow speeds and packet loss over my network all while having tier 1&2 Techs try to pawn the issues off on me, or any of my 3 computers. Been through 6 routers now, FINALLY got fed up and contacted Cable One, they will be running a cable feed for my block to provide services, cannot wait to be able to tell these people to take their garbage and get it out of my house. Needless to say DON'T go with them unless they are your only choice, I was paying out $105/mo (Military Discount) for 20mbps Down and 4Mbps Up, saw those speeds for maybe a total of a month intermittently, otherwise I was lucky to see half those speeds with 150-300 Ping on servers. With Cable One I'm getting 200Mbps Down and 20Mbps Up for $115/mo with no discount. So on top of cruddy service and support I'm also paying out the hind end to be nothing but frustrated and talking to tech support to the point I could tell you their names. No thanks. Never again Safelink! *UPDATE 10/26/2020* dropped.my services, techs were far from courteous or willing to resolve issues and kept blaming me, I was an ADSL/SDSL Service Tech for 8 years, I worked for Covad Internet and also worked doing Point-to-Point networks just like what is being provided by Safelink, I know when I have garbage service and when I do not. Since moving to Sparklight I have since used the same equipment I was using on Safelink on their network with the advertised speeds of which were sold to me, no changes made other than the ISP. Safelink is a straight joke, would never go with their services again. read more

Some good friends of mine moved to the country near Melba, Idaho where it's impossible to get traditional (cable, DSL) internet service. They had been using Rise Broadband in Star, and even though the tower was on their property, the service was terrible, and Rise customer service wasn't much better. For their new location, they chose SafeLink Internet Services, an Idaho company headquartered in Rupert, Idaho. As their de facto tech support, my expectations weren't very high given their experience with their previous fixed wireless provider. To my delight, SafeLink and installer Damian knocked it out of the park. My first contact with Damian was when he was on the roof and I was on my way from Boise to get their tech equipment up and running. My friend had me talk to Damian because SafeLink was not going to be able to provide the 15/3 package they had hoped for. Damian started with a fairly simple explanation of what the problem was, but when he sensed I understood the technology he immediately adjusted his communication demonstrating a thorough understanding of the technology. This understanding and ability to detect the level of expertise of the person you are talking to is a rare gift. Damian did a stellar job on the install, demonstrating an attention to detail and thorough familiarity with the premises equipment, despite only having been on the job for 6 months and having prior experience only in the food service industry. This speaks highly of SafeLinks hiring and training practices. After performing a few speed tests and stress testing my friends network, i found SafeLink was delivering exactly what they promised, and far outperforming Rise Briadband's 2X faster package at the old location. If I move to the country, I'll unquestionably use SafeLink and have Damian do the install. read more

Leaving another updated review....again, Josh at customer service is amazing. I followed his advice from a few months ago and upgraded my old router (2012 Apple AirPort Extreme). Zero issues now. The more I read about my old router, the more disgusted I was with my Apple product. Kudos Josh, you're the man! I think he deserves a raise or a bonus. read more

I don't know why they are advertising for new customers when they cannot support their existing customers in our area. I have been a customer since 2006. I upgraded my internet to more download speed but was later downgraded by them without notifying me. Now I am being told I cannot upgrade my internet that is constantly not working due to the amount of customers on the tower. read more

Can't leave 0 or negative stars dammit!!! Another review. PISS POOR ISP. Paying for 10gb plan I get 10gb on average 1.5 hours per day. The remainder of the time it runs at 1.5 to 1.8. The past 5 weeks service drops EVERY NIGHT mbetween 8:30 and about 11:30. I am a datadase develop and Systems Administrator for the past 30+ years. Safelink you are the worst I have ever experienced. The GM Nicholas responded to my previous comment of VERY SERIOUS technical issues and he gives the marrketing email address and some tongue in cheek bullshit answer. I consult with 18 different companies and individuals. They are all on Safelink on my recommendation when they were decent. I have called each of them today and 12 of them and myself will dropping your service this week. Some of these accounts pay you a LOT of money. read more

I purchased a new router had problems, called in got William he helped me get everything going. Did a very good job.

I had to call today about my service. It had started getting spotty the last month-ish, then after a huge wind storm last night it completely stopped working. I spoke to Adon in tech support and he was phenomenal! We worked through a bunch of stuff to see if it would work and when he realized it may be an equipment issue, possibly from the storm, he got a tech scheduled to come out within a few days. I guess I wasn't the only one that had called in with equipment damage after the storm last night, so I was totally ok with having to wait until this coming Monday for tech. The person that answered the phone initially was polite, and then Adon took care of the rest. read more

REVISING MY 1 STAR only because of Ryan. Talk to RYAN (Hopefully you can get connected to her) because she fixed the issues for me. She needs a raise because it took me 6 days to get a call, but luckily it was her. If you get Ryan you may not go through this: (Amy original review) This is not a good choice and here is why: What they sell you is NOT what you'll get. You'll never hear from your sales rep again either - i just want to ask him why he sold me a 25MBPS download and 5 MBPS upload package for $130 / month and I'm getting a $30 service. The upload is actually less than 1000 KBPS, which equals not even 1 MBPS. And I'm lucky to get 5 MBPS in downloading. What that means is you can watch 1 TV. You cannot play video games and you cannot have multiple electronics running. Good luck with home schooling. I have called 6 times and my calls are not returned - and if they answer you get nothing more than a receptionist that cannot help you and apparently doesn't route your message either. My 2nd router isn't even connected to or communicating with the first and it's their product - and their phone tech is the one that told me the routers aren't compatible. I wondered why they had 2 totally different routers at install, now I know. Your 2nd router will be the cheap crap that fails - but you'll still have to pay for it. Just be aware of what you won't get. Also, you can be 10 feet from your router and if it's another room DO NOT close the door. I swear you'd think my doors were solid iron and my walls were cement....but they aren't. I should be able to close the bathroom door and still have WiFi...but nope. Go with another company. I've had internet service with this company for about 3 months and I am not happy with this service. When they came out to install the dish and router it took 2 guys about 4 hours to do it because 1 was teaching the other on his first day. I have had to call them twice now about my internet going down. The first time, I was on the phone about 2 hours with a person who clearly had no idea how to fix my problem. They finally got it going again for about 2 weeks and it started happening again. I just called them earlier and they said the problem was with the tower on the mountain and they might be able to fix it tomorrow, if not, then on Monday. This happens again, I will go to another carrier. I will not recommend this service to any of my friends. read more

Super not impressed with their services. They were completely incompetent and zero help. We struggled to get our Internet to work regularly and were not getting what we were paying for. We have since taken our business elsewhere. We did not feel like valued customers. read more

I would give this company -5 stars if I could, I have been with them for nearly 12 years give or take, and for many years they were good, then about two years ago they became not so good and now they are below the level of measure, for at least a year we have been spending hours and I do mean hours, at least 10 a week there for awhile, going in circles not getting anything accomplished other than pushing my patience over the edge, they do the same stupid tests and give me the same lame answers over and over, but the internet is worthless, they have lost the will to do anything about the terrible service and the only reason I am still there is there is nothing else available where I am, and they know it so they keep feeding me the bull and giving me less than adequate internet and collecting my money. Unless you have a choice avoid them at all costs, as a long term valued customer, I say RUN as fast as you can! read more
