These guys suck! Set my wife up an appointment and she ended up there more than four hours with them making excuses about not being able to calibrate the windshield replacement then suddenly told her everything was done and working right except it isn't. Some of the features like lane departure is always on regardless of whether you put it on or turn it off. I was a Ford factory trained tech for 15 years and there was never anything I turned back to a customer without road testing to confirm everything I worked to repair was functioning properly. I still work in the repair and maintenance industry but I get it. Conscientious, caring and competent people are hard to find and keep when you consider these companies want to pay nearly the same wages they were paying 30 years or longer ago but expect to get well trained who take pride in their work and actually get paid what they are worth. It seems these days many places with whom I do business with and pay way way more than I used to for services I expect to be done expertly fall far below even my lowest expectations. This is just one more example of that which has caused me to become somewhat jaded. It's too late to apologize the damage has been done and our personal time is more valuable than an offer to make it right after the fact. Sorry. You have one chance to make a good first impression and sadly you have failed this time. I'm sure it's not the only time. And that's too bad. I gave them two stars only because it seems they didn't break anything else or scratch the car while they had it. read more

I hate this place. Wouldn't EVER come here but my vehicle is a corporate vehicle and I had no choice. Second time I had to come here. And it's always terrible. First off my real appointment was yesterday. They were supposed to come to my house to do the repair between 8 and 1. Called at 10 and said can't come it's going to rain. Ok that's fine. Scheduled me at 8am the next morning (today). Got here at 745. We will get you right in. At 9AM I asked when they were going to get started. A guy came in early for his 1pm appointment. His vehicle is already in the bay getting worked on. Finally at 910 AM they just pulled my vehicle in. Haven't started it. Pretty sure just pulled it in so I would quit complaining. This place is a joke! I see why they have TERRIBLE reviews. UPDATE- was called up to the desk and informed after waiting almost 2 hours they wrote the VIN down wrong and don't have the right part and have to reschedule. I would NOT recommend Safelite for windshield replacement. I called last Saturday, and it took four days just to get an appointment scheduled. On the day of the appointment, I received an email with a 1-6 PM arrival window. At 3:30 PM, I called to confirm, since I had to drive 70 minutes to where my truck was located. They contacted the technician and assured me he would arrive by 6 PM. At 7:30 PM, the technician finally called to say he wasn't going to make it. I explained that I had already driven over an hour to be there. He said he would talk to his boss and then called back saying he could come by 8 PM. When he arrived, he immediately said the windshield was in worse condition than expected. He spent about 30 minutes calling his boss because he didn't know how to proceed and didn't have the right tools with him. He then told me it would be Saturday or Monday of the next week before they could do the job. I canceled the appointment altogether--and two days later I STILL received a call asking if I needed them to come out. Very poor communication and overall bad service. read more

This Safelite shop in Chattanooga exceeded all expectations. The shop was clean, orderly, and efficient. The technicians obviously had high confidence in their glass replacement skills as the work area was fully visible through a large window in the waiting room. The waiting room had a clean coffee prep area and was comfortable that I was able to do work while sitting there. Jesse did a fantastic job in the front windshield replacement and spent time with me afterwards explaining in detail what to do for the next couple of days to ensure perfect results with the glass. My car looks great, visibility is excellent, and all the automated safety systems work just like factory new. Highly recommend this shop and their staff. read more

My wife has already cut her hand, and I have a 16 month-old child who recently started walking, as well as a little dog, who I am afraid to let walk out front. Purchased a new windshield for my son's F150 just 7 weeks ago. When it was installed, it took the installer twice to get it right. He then told me there could be issues with the windshield. It started to crack from the bottom of the windshield up to about a foot. I set up a warranty appointment and SafeScam sent out a 'technician' to look at it. He tried to say there was a chip where a rock hit the windshield. The tiny tiny little thing he pointed out to me wasn't even the size of a pin head. Mind you the crack started at the bottom and worked its way up. So SafeScam didn't allow my warranty replacement because of an incompetent idiot coming to my home. He also told me twice the manager was going to call me and explain. The loser manager never called. SafeScam is that, a scam. They look for ANY reason not to fulfill their warranty obligations. read more

I made an appointment, dropped off the car at 9am. Never heard from them all day. Tried to call them before they closed at 5pm and found out they don't have a local phone number, only a 1-800 number. No one at the 1-800 number could tell me the status of my car at the end of the day. I drove to their location and my car had not been touched. They said they were running behind. 4 other customer were being told the same story. It was closing time so I picked up my car. Very disappointed!!!! A rock hit my windshield while I was driving and cracked it so badly it needed to be replaced. My insurance agent isn't local and recommended Safelite since they're a national company and have locations everywhere. Well, that was a mistake. Safelite came out and replaced the windshield, but they ended up messing up my car. They destroyed the seals on the sides of the windshield, so now my car leaks when it rains. Before the tech left I could see the seals hanging off the glass and asked about it, and I was told because my car is old (it was about 10 years old at the time) the seals cracked when they replaced the windshield and they didn't carry replacement seals. I asked if they could order them and they could, but I would be charged close to a thousand dollars in parts and labor for them to fix what they broke. Oh, and it would likely take "months and months" to get them ordered. The guy wasn't even going to tell me what had happened before he snuck off, and then he was acting like he'd be doing me a favor by allowing me to pay them to fix the issue. They also put my rear view mirror on crooked, which isn't the end of the world but it's annoying and looks like a five-year-old did it. Additionally, I don't know what kind of glass they use for their windshields but I'm guessing it's some kind of cut-rate stuff. It appears warped in places and there's some fogging that never goes away, plus it's extremely difficult to clean. Avoid at all costs. read more

The entire staff was extremely helpful and was able to repair my windshield on the spot. The technician was on the spot, and make sure the repair was the best they could do. Showed up for a service appointment and they didn't have the glass on hand. I recommend you go with a different company. Other companies have people at the location that answer the phone and you can clear up stuff like this. They can work with you on scheduling and answer your questions. Safelite offers no customer service number at the location, that I was able to locate, and you can get stuff like this as a result. read more

I read a lot of bad reviews before I went to get my windshield replaced and was a little hesitant at first but I figured I'd give them a chance. The service and people was great and friendly and I had no issues at all so I can't really complain about my experience. The only reason I gave 4 stars was I wish they had 2 stations to recalibrate your vehicles safety system they only had one so that held things up a little bit but wasn't a big deal. If I could give zero stars, I would. We had a broken windshield in April of 2023 which was replaced in May, and we are still dealing with subsequent issues. They say they will order parts but don't and it takes a pretty constant/diligent effort on behalf of the customer to get anywhere. As for our situation, after the windshield was replaced a piece of the housing behind the rearview mirror kept falling out. I took it back and their resolution was to replace the glass with OEM (Manufacturer) glass, and they would call me when it came in. I waited and heard nothing, so I went back over there. The glass hadn't been ordered. They were going to order it again. I waited - nothing - went back, and the tech looked at it again and decided they needed to order a replacement plastic piece. I asked if the glass had ever been ordered - it had not. So, I waited for them to call me about the new housing piece - nothing. I went there again. First they told me they couldn't order the cover piece by itself because the car was new, and the manager said to me he didn't want to order the whole assembly because it would be "wasted parts". They finally placed an order but said they got the wrong part. When they finally did get the correct part (not sure if it was the whole housing with all its wasted parts or just the cover), they came to the house and replaced it. I noticed the part still was not snapped in properly and pointed it out to the technician. He said it should be fine. The next day it fell off again. I took the car back again and they went back to the original plan of ordering the OEM glass. It came in, and I took the car in and they replaced the it (which could only be done in house because of the sensor calibration), then the auto wipers didn't work. I took it back - they made adjustments, but decided they needed to order a new OEM rain sensor. I didn't hear anything so I went back over there - the part was never ordered. The manager made excuses about having an archaic system and that the parts team never ordered the part, so instead he would order it directly from the dealership and come to the house to swap the sensor. The appointment was today (12/28). The tech called and said my windshield didn't arrive today. What windshield?!?! I have been over there a dozen times (no exaggeration) because when you call the number on the website you get lost in an automated phone tree loop. When you call their location directly (a number I was given several months ago), it rings then an automated voice says "We can't take your call right now. Goodbye", and disconnects. The only reason I've gotten traction on this situation was because I emailed every executive for whom I could find an email address. Their "Customer Care" department called after that. Still - 8 months later and I'm still waiting for my car to be repaired correctly. So, my advice is DO NOT use Safelite. They are completely inept. read more

My insurance requires me to get my windshield repaired through Safelite. I called them to set up my appointment and they said they service up to a 30 mile radius. My location is in Dayton (32 miles) away. They would not come to my work because it was 2 miles over. So when I said I could meet at a location 2 miles closer to keep it in the 30 mile radius. All of the sudden they don't service Dayton because of the zip code. Now they base it on the zip code, but Stephanie (the rep) says they service Ringgold! That is a different zip code from Chattanooga! Maybe I am wrong but I do not understand their philosophy for their service areas! read more

Made an appointment for 1/22 for 8-12 a week in advance. I made the appointment for the only day and time i have available to me. I made sure to he up early for the appointment since the conformation email said the tech would contact you 30 mins before your appointment. At 11:45 when I still hadnt heard anything I contacted their office to know why my tech still wasnt here only to be informed that he had a medical emergency and it would be after 12 when a new tech would be available. I told them that that does not work for me and why i wasnt informed of the time change before my appointment was almost over. The receptionist simply said she didn't have a timeline of events. Very unprofessional at this place. Chattanooga, TN. They did not honor my warranty and refused to correct their mistake. I had to deal with them for a couple of months with an issue I had with my windshield installation. My windshield has been making a cracking noise since I drove it off the lot after a repair. I called and had to wait for 2 weeks to get inspected after installation. A tech inspects it and finds nothing but adjusted something under the hood. I drive home and the next morning same noise continued. I then check again and I notice cracks along the base of the windshield. So I called back and had to wait another 2 weeks to get seen again and then they rejected me again. Will not own up to their mistake. I have used several times but will not go back after this experience. I felt they already were annoyed after I mentioned warranty. read more

Chattanooga Safelite (Bonny Oaks) - DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION! If I could rate this zero stars, I would. I took my brand new 2024 BMW 230i to have a simple chip in the windshield repaired so I could have the front windshield tinted. They took the chip to a full on spider (maybe not their fault), but then they said they would replace it, and when the new windshield came in they took the original one out and then found out they did not have the proper pieces to install the new one (that mind you was not OEM!! - I was not even offered this as an option until I called my insurance company) Then after being sent home and told to return when OEM windshield came in. I went through the car was a couple of days later and ended up with a wall of water coming down through my rear view mirror of my brand new car!!! After no answers on the phone, I showed up at their office and demanded that this be fixed immediately as a huge rain storm was on it way to this area. After they finally installed the windshield then came the several attempts to recalibrate the windshield so that my safety features and cameras could function, once the tech called and said they sent him out to do job but he did not have the equipment to complete the job, so after three days of the 1-6pm windows. The final tech came tried again and said we cant do it, it needs to go to the dealership. $427 later my windshield is back to where it was before safelite touched it. The only person that was of any help there was the lady behind the counter, but she seemed really stretched thin having to deal with all the issues create by bad work. The people there are all nice and courteous, but not great at the real stuff windshield repair/replacement! Not a satisfied customer and will not return. read more

The passenger window of my work truck was smashed in a hotel parking lot. (Lucky for me the only thing stolen was a drill). I drove to Safelite a couple of hours later to arrange getting the window replaced. I wish I had gotten the name of the guy at the front desk, because he was on the ball. As soon as I told him what was going on, he had a technician go out to my truck and start cleaning up the glass. I explained that my truck was an Enterprise Fleet vehicle, and he was a little confused by this. He said I would have to call Enterprise and set up the service through them. I explained that typically when I have service done on the truck the garage calls. I handed him my maintenance card. Despite the fact he had never dealt directly with Enterprise before, he was on the phone and had a new window approved within five minutes. The window had to be ordered. This was on a Tuesday, and my appointment was scheduled for 8 AM on Thursday. I walked outside and my truck had been vacuumed and a piece of plastic had been installed over my broken window. Two days later, I returned for my appointment and my new window was installed in about an hour. I can't really comment on price as this was a company vehicle and I didn't personally have to pay anything, but the level of service was awesome. read more

If I could leave NO stars, I would. Do NOT recommend this place. My husband took our 2022 Tucson in because it had several chips but three were the largest and right in the driver view and those were the ones we wanted fixed. He looked at it and said "it's not deep enough to fix, yes it might bother you but it's not deep enough for us to fix" Complete Bs because We've had Safelite fix cracks and chips with no noticeable surface imperfections, let alone something I can feel with my fingernail and directly in the driver view area. Avoid at all costs and insist your insurance company refer you to another company as this one is definitely a lazy, rude, and incompetent company. And I will be calling USAA as soon as they open on Monday to let them know what a company this is in Chattanooga. And their customer service on the phone (transferred by USAA so likely not the shop but a call center) was as unhelpful Do Not Go Here.
