This company is terrible today I had a appointment to have my windshield repaired the time frame they gave was from 12 pm to 5pm ir is bow going on 4:40 pm and still have not heard from them ,I called customer service and they could not help me either, I am very upset and very aggravated my whole day has been taken because they cannot communicate to say hey we are stuck at another job , or that we are sorry for running late, the answer was we have a window of 12pm to 5pm ,poor way of doing things they had to of k own i would be there last stop once they get there schedule in the am. "Holy Pulverizing Glass Batman!" I had a rock strike my windshield while driving down the highway minding my own business. Out of nowhere, "CRACK! POP!" Then I had a small crack and a small hole in my windshield. I had never heard of Safelite but took my vehicle here for a windshield repair. I didn't think such a thing was even possible, it's glass after all. The tech at this facility told me they may or may not be able to fix the crack because it was in fact glass and they can only do so much. Warnings aside they attempted the repair and I guess in my mind I expected to see flawless glass when I got it back but the reality was they plugged the small hole from whatever hit me (presumably a rock) but the small cracks were still visible. Whatever this company does it seems they simply do something that can either repair the damage to the glass completely or treat it as to minimize the glass from getting damaged further on its own. I didn't come with high expectations of a tech waving fairy dust on my windshield and instantly seeing a brand new windshield. I was curious what could they actually do and the end result was, treatment/patch that only helps reduce further damage with still visible damage. I can't knock this place for not stocking fairy dust but I guess the patch was applied since I did see a difference though not a huge one. Staff was super nice. read more

Safelite never called me back to setup an appointment. They said they can't get my glass.............are they in the glass business?

If I could give them a zero I would. My windshield was cracked due to a pebble that hit it on the highway. This is a new car. When they replaced the windshield, they did not put it in its frame and it is now sitting on top of the frame. It is not flush with the car and I can even stick my finger nail under it. This was a very friendly and professional location! I made my reservation online and it was very easy to do (I even googled a promo code and received $20 off). Once I arrived for my appointment they began work right away and were very clear and explained everything in detail. I appreciate that they pointed out things on my car that needed to be brought to my attention. They actually weren't able to replace my windshield (due to rust), but they put everything back together for me and gave me all the necessary info on what needs to be done next. Worst product! The glass they use is so cheap and crappy it will get chipped right away from some tiny little pebble. Then when you're warming your car up the next day it will crack all the way across in front of your eyes. (Why will Yelp not allow zero stars???) Had a quarter-sized ding in my windshield. Went to Safelite in Chester, NY today. They told me that their repair could cause the windshield to crack. Of course it happened. My quarter-sized ding was turned into a 5 inch crack going in 2 directions. I was assured that this crack (which is within the specifications for what they claim they can repair) was repaired and would not crack further. I paid and left the office. Within 3 hours the crack had extended OVER A FOOT, and is now at the margins of the window where it will cause leaking and other problems. When I spoke to the manager about his having lied to me that the crack they created was repaired, he claimed he was "trying to be positive". I am POSITIVE you LIED. Here's how Safelite stands behind their work. You get to pay them to replace the windshield they just broke!!! Seriously. They say they'll refund the cost of the repair when you replace with them. BUT, they actually expect you to pay the full cost of the replacement and then wait for a refund check from them!!! It would be funny if it weren't true. Oh, and read the BBB website if you think you'll EVER see that check from them. Read the BBB website if you think this is an unusual situation. It appears that Safelite's "repair" business model is to break windshields so they can charge you to replace them. read more

Safe lite was so easy to work with. I entered everything online, including insurance info. They reached out to insurance and I had an appointment in no time. It literally took a few minutes and sure was very easy to use. So convenient too, they came right to my house while I was at work. They texted me when they were there and when they were done. yes they are polite. i called thur march 22 after we had snow storm which was a few inches of snow the plows were out and apparently a piece of rock or pebble hit my back windshield and broke it to smithereens. I was upset freaked out as i had no collision as the car is old but in great shape or comprehensive insurance and i dint want to claim it on home owners insurance as i rent. so.. this sweet nice man named don from Phome office said well take care of you plastic wrap the window and vacuum the glass fro your car everything will be just ok. so there was no quick appointment until later in the week. So the man said we can do it in your driveway how cool is this? wow so they came sat march 24 i said to the installer please be careful pulling off the tape to the plastic i know why i said it as cold weather and tape dont mix it takes paint off as i use to paint pinstripes on cars. The installer said in the 3 yrs i been here with the company nothing like that ever happens its painters tape but this tape was on it very good and it was silver. so guess what? after the wind shield was replaced the tape he pulled off my paint. ok 3.5 inches on a pure white subaru in great shape and edges which he dint take that picture of he just took the pain bigger strip off pic. he said we can either discount 150 bucks or have it painted. Well being this happened i was afraid fro anyone else to touch my car as they might lean on it being a newly installed windshield i wasnt taking any chances and wanting for god knows when to get it done in this town of monroe. so i took the discount being i lost my job. WRONG. now i am quoted way over a 150 bucks for the paint job plus i had to pay for paint ordered by a great company in town who does this but now i have to wait a lil for warm weather to do it myself. i feel.. they shouldve discounted it for the price of getting it repainted. i mean if they offered to get it painted they would have tpo pay way over 150 anyway, the manager said he cannot authorize more then that discount. sad. no one expected this. I did tell the installer be careful pulling the tape off. I use oil to saturate tape on any project to pull off tape anytime. I knew it i had a feeling the weather was freezing. that being said i hope this never happens again i cant afford this.plus being a sat they couldnt run thru my card as they had no discount coupon only a manager could do it meanwhile my card number was in the system so the installer said we took card out of system well call you mon. mon came the boss manager was there and ran it anyway he said oh yea it was still in system omg i was like i thought you took it out the installer said it was i was worried all weknd. you never know how things get messed up i dint like that. inconvenience. If they discount do the transaction then and there. no holding my card. that transaction stuff making me wait and worry is BS read more

Employees at Chester Location were friendly, prompt and professional. I would highly recommend them to anyone. However, I did not have the same experience when calling the toll free number to schedule an appointment. The female customer service rep told me there was no other place to go to within the next two days besides an hour away in Kingston, NY. I searched around myself and found that there were plenty of openings at the Chester location and was rescheduled within one day at this location. Originally, the representative clearly told me I would not be able to get any appointments for the next day anywhere near my location and most had no openings until the following week. Meanwhile, a tree had fallen on my daughter's back windshield and she was attending college and working so time and distance were important. I didn't trust what the phone rep said, as she was not that pleasant and I ended up finding the Chester location on my own. They got me in the next morning. read more
