Poor Customer Service!!!!! I received a call from the Safelite repair office in Clinton Township. The Person I spoke with Christina explained my insurance wasn't verified and I needed to call my insurance company to help expedite the claim for service scheduled for tomorrow. Needless to say this isn't how businesses is conducted for windshield repair. I asked to speak to the manager on duty (Jim) and he was useless as well and he thought having poor customer service was a good idea. I will NEVER use this company and I hope anyone that reads this review doesn't give this company their business. Let me also add poor customer service has consequences. POOR CUSTOMER CARE Safelite - Clinton Township MI (James D. Store Manager) was unresponsive to 3 emails, and finally took my call due to our insurance company setting up a 3-way. The store manager did not hear my problem, due to damage of the latch-actuator from residual broken glass as would qualify this as poor workmanship. Our hatch / latch cavity should have been 100% clear/clean from broken glass as this clean-up was attempted by your Tech, but did not remove all broken glass with the tools on-site. Had a bad crack in my windshield from the recent cold. Very easy to schedule and reschedule with them. I had my glass replaced this morning. I received a call before he arrived (15 minute warning) and a text when he arrived. Joshlin did an AMAZING job. Safelite is awful!! Took car for my appointment and was told they could only do part of the repair because the windshield part set aside for my car was damaged. So they only replaced the driver and passenger windows. Had to wait several days for someone to come to my house (and he was several hours late). After he installed the windshield, I found several large defects in the glass. Had to go back to Safelite again for a new windshield. I was supposed to have OEM Parts, found out they decided to use aftermarket instead. Drivers side now had visible defects on the entire window. Gave the entire car a good inspection and saw they damaged one windshield molding and the other isn't even fully attached!! Been dealing with this mess of a company for over 3 weeks now. Currently working with Progressive to get the correct windows and to get the damage they caused repaired. And will be requesting to have any company except Safelite to do the repairs. read more

It's safe to say your experience will be a painless and enjoyable one at this Safelite location. (I had to replace my back windshield on a 2019 Dodge Ram.) The gentleman who worked at the customer service desk was extremely pleasant and helpful. He explained the entire process clearly with all my pricing options. He worked diligently to find a drop-off time that would accommodate my busy work schedule. He sent me text messages to update me on the status of my repair and arranged things so I could pick up my truck after hours. My new windshield looks great and the workers were careful to keep my truck nice and clean. Complaint- There isn't a convenient method to get ahold of an actual human to answer quick questions. I had to make my initial appointment online and mistakenly ordered the wrong window. I didn't realize this until I arrived at my appointment. They had Me schedule from 12 PM to 6 PM to fix the chip on my Winshild, The guy arrived around 4 pm picked up the keys to fix the chip then dropped the key & left without telling me any thing, Next morning I realized that the chip is still their. Called them and they pretend they didn't know that the chip is not repaired when they got paid by my insurance claim. On the phone the recommend replacing the Winshild. I needed to know from the beginning if it was or wasn't repairable properly. read more

Tech showed up to my house Said he could not install glass on my vehicle cuz of small amount of rust around window and again I say very small amount of rust. The tech even told me that his boss had told me before he even arrived in my driveway to walk away from the vehicle. The plus of the whole thing is found a local guy right around the corner from my house that did it for almost half the price. read more

This was the easiest and most painless auto repair, ever! Had a chip in my windshield, so I looked up Safelite online last night. I was able to enter my info, along with my auto insurance (and was also able to find out that I was covered for this repair), and make an appointment for 8am this morning after I got out of work. I got there at 8am, and I was literally back on the road by 820am with a fixed windshield. After working all night, that was much appreciated! I had to stop here this morning for a chip repair. I had made an appointment with them earlier in the week via my insurance company. It is super easy to find them from Gratiot. I was waited on quickly after arriving. The Safelite technician was very helpful and he quoted me a time which was exactly the amount of time it took to repair my windshield. They have a decent waiting room with free coffee/hot drinks. It was a more industrial style of a keurig. I didn't try it but I've used one before. It was very easy to get back on Gratiot when this was done. I will definitely be back here if I have to come in for another repair and there's no mobile appointments available. read more

It would be nice to have workers that actually knew what was going on. Had the hardest time even getting a hold of anyone to begin with then once I did no one had any answers of why I was getting a bill sent to me almost a year later. Then was able to talk to someone online and they said it was paid for a year ago! called back to Safelite they couldn't find my information anywhere yet I was still getting billed so I told him I had the invoice number and they said they can't look up any information with the invoice number. Brought our vehicle for glass repair, after inspection the technician suggested replacement due to safety concerns. The airbag deploys into the windshield then out towards occupants. They felt the windshield may not withstand the airbag. read more

Had a pretty good rock chip in my front windshield. Made an appointment online and showed up the next day. They were waiting for me and had it fixed in 30 minutes. Doug was my technician. Friendly. Knowledgeable. Confident. He did great work. Getting a chip fixed is more expensive then it used to be but c'est la vie. Cheaper then letting that chip turn into a full blown cracked windshield. First they don't have their hours of operations on the website as well as no phone number to contact with issues or questions. We dropped our car off on Sunday 8/28 with the appointment we set online. Safelite doesn't use phones it's all automated which is terrible. They informed us our car would be done and wild call when compete since we agreed to leave it. We told them we had to have it back they were only replacing the windshield. Corporate told us they close at 4pm since no hours we posted on their site and said closed on business doors. We went back at 145 when we got the text it was done and they closed at 1:30. We called corporate and they assured us someone will be there to get our vehicle, we paid ahead to leave it outside. No one was there we called multiple times and they left our vehicle in the shop. My wife is a nurse and has to call Into work since this business cannot communicate. I will never use them again. Went through the process of getting an online quote and was given the price of $399. Compared with Henderson Glass and they came in @$404 out the door. Safelite availability was better so I started the process of scheduling the work. When I arrive at the last page to pay the price is now $434. The online quote neglected to factor in disposal and tax. A quote should include additional fees and tax, immediately scheduled with Henderson Glass. read more

Do not ever work with this Company. Their customer service is absolutely pathetic. I have been waiting for 9 months for a replacement VIN tag for my vehicle after they cut into during a windshield replacement. I have called this location 10+ times and for some reason whenever I want to speak with a manager they are never in to speak with. When I finally get a hold of the location, if they even answer the phone, they say that they will get back to me and I never get a call back from the Company. I tried to get my glass repaired. They rescheduled 4 times and each time they had either just ordered the glass, or it was just missed placed after they had it 2 days before. I get to my appointment (a 20 minute drive) and was told after 10 minutes that the wrong windshield was ordered and that I would have to reschedule. I told them not to bother with rescheduling. Highly dissatisfied. When the work was freshly completed, my window looked really good with no visible marks. After letting it sit overnight and no defrost used, I look to see the very same blemishes on my window shield. I do not recommend them for service because the only thing they can do is replace your window. This was a waste of $200.00. And now I will need to spend an additional $400.00 for window replacement. It's now 12:33 as I'm writing this review and no one has shown up. At 12:10 I contacted Safelite via the phone number listed on my email. Horrible customer service. That witch of a receptionist has a terrible attitude and always has an attitude. I have gone there a few times to get my windshield fixed and she talks very harshly to customers. The work they do is fine . Its just her! Dont know her name but she is an older rough looking woman. She ended up hanging up on me due to me being upset that it has been 4 months of me waiting for a back windshield to come in. I have reason to be upset. She has no answers other than I dont know and I have to talk buyers blah, blah blah! Technician never showed up! We were scheduled for an afternoon appointment between noon and 5 PM. Never received a call or text that the tech was running behind. Tried calling Safelite at 5:05 pm and their offices were closed. At 6:30 pm I received a text saying "I will not be able to do your job today." Took the entire day off from work and lost money myself, but Safelite was not willing to make any adjustments so we went with another company. Very frustrating! read more

Less than 2 months after I got my windshield replaced it started to crack from the bottom seam of the windshield all the way to the top. I took it in to get evaluated and they blamed a tiny scrape mark that's smaller than a mark I would use to dot and "i" that's underneath where my wiper sits. I truly don't think this "impact" mark would cause the crack that it did, but if that's true, I would question the quality of glass that they use...Never have I seen such a large crack form over night either spontaneously or by the cause of such a small scrape. Last time I got a stone chip in my windshield I called Safelite and they couldn't get me in for 3-days and by that time my chip had become a crack so I was kind of jacked. This time I didn't want to wait three days so I called to see if I could get right in and after going through a whole computerized answering system I finally spoke to a girl who told me if I brought my car in before 2:00, no appointment would be necessary. I got there at 1:00 and was told they had no availability for, you guessed it, 2-3 days! I said thank you and walked out. I called Mt. Clemens glass up the road to see if they could do it, which they could not, but they recommended Tom's Auto Glass a little further up the road and they got me in and out in about 1/2 hour! As far as a review for Tom's, it was a chip and now it fixed. What else can I say? read more

They had to come back 3 times to replace the windshield because the previous ones had large distracting warped glass defects. Each of the techs saw and confirmed the glass was defective. Wasn't really a huge problem since they did the work while I was at work - just inconvenient. Each of the techs were professional, friendly and timely. Also one of them broke the clips off the cover for the sensor attached to window and reattached it with double sided tape. It's up there, but in my mind I know it's broken. read more

As I was traveling this didn't work. I took a chance and went directily to the Safelite location to see if they could squeeze me in. Much to my delight, they did just that.
