I had a very small chip in my front windshield. I called up my insurance company and they said Safe Life Auto would be the place where we I can get it fixed. I called them up Safe Life Auto and they said they would send their roadside assistance to come to my house fix or replace the window since it is covered under the insurance I decided that I would just replaced the whole window. But I wanted to go to there on-site place since that's just my preference. I set up an appointment which was pretty quick they got me in when I got there it was a smooth check in I decided to wait in there waiting room and within an hour they had the window completely removed and fixed with a new window. At this point I have no problems with the window it looks totally brand new and I would highly recommend this place. When I reached out, instead of taking responsibility, I was told there's "nothing they can do" because too much time has passed. That response alone tells you everything you need to know about this company. This isn't normal wear and tear--this is a part that was either not put back or not secured properly during installation. Now I'm the one stuck dealing with it while they refuse to stand behind their work. It's extremely disappointing to trust a company with your vehicle and then get zero accountability when something goes wrong. I was very disappointed in Safelites pricing policy. I was sent an email with a pricing quote that included a $45.00 discount on a windshield install, but right below it was a "recycling" charge of $39.99. When the installer arrived I told him,I had made arrangements to dispose of the damaged Windshield myself and didn't need or want their "recycling " service. I should have read the reviews. Came in with a small chip after waiting around a bit, I was told that the chip cracked further before the tech could even touch it. They then rescheduled me 4 days later with a 5 hour long appointment window. About 2 hours in to the timeline I called to verify my appointment because I had never received a text. The lady was very short with me and insisted they would text when they were on their way sometime within that window. At the end of the appointment window I began calling Safelite for an update I was unable to get in contact with anyone, even though customer support said it was available until 10pm. My experience with Safelite Auto Glass was sad and frustrating. They do not keep up with their Slogan Safelite Repair Safelite Replace. I was given 3 different appointments and was canceled each time. They would say we are on our way and give an arrival time only to cancel and reschedule at their convenience for a week or more in the future. They are not trustworthy and communication is lacking. All of this was after I had filed a claim with insurance and paid an installment through after pay to ensure they would be compensated. I had to jump through more hoops to get another company to replace my windshield, file a new claim and get refunded what I already paid to a company that is supposed to be reputable. read more

Awful experience and who knows what is to come. Upon drop off someone was back after their rear view mirror fell off on the car they had worked on, on the day prior. You can't get through to the local shop, how do I know because I got a text my car wasn't there after it had been dropped off 2 hours prior on time and keys in hand to the receptionist. The automated message suggested calling the 800 number and having you patched through. They gate keep and that doesn't happen. They finally got someone after calling the local facility 5 different times and confirmed they realized they had the car. Then, it's 5pm. Where's my car? The store "closes" at 5. No communication, try to call back and you guessed it, same old thing again. They said head there by 530 it will be ready. I got an email at 5:14 my car had been started. Hmmm sounds like a recipe for half a*s work on a windshield that has to be installed and recalibrated. If anyone is taking bets when I'll get out of here and if my windshield will fly off on the way home don't because we are all betting the same thing. I REPEAT DO NOT USE Safelite on WINHILL ROAD! This is my third time using safelite in my lifetime and second time in the last six months. They are amazing. It's easy to schedule an appointment with them through insurance and they have options for you to drop your car off, wait or mobile service to your home. I've had to go to the store and drop my car off because with a newer car , they have to recalibrate my car but the process is always super smooth. I drop my car, get the windshield done and they have a tracker where you can know when your car is done and when they start and then picking up the car is so easy. Of course I can always take my car to somewhere closer but for the convenience of knowing they are reliable, I'd rather drive a bit farther for them. read more

where do I begin. To start, I have a Tesla email does not you have to bring your key card with you. So I had to go back to the house and get one. Additionally, they sent me the first emails to let me know that my car has been started working on it. However, it's been two days now, I haven't them. My car is sitting in the lot. I cannot call them because their automated service literally just hangs up the phone on you every time you try. They don't call you back, and you can't leave a voicemail. From the front desk to the guys who replaced the windshield, they held conversations with me, were patient and answered my questions. The tech even offered to install a new roll up sunscreen that I purchased after the break in (not in his scope of work). If I could give this place 6 stars I would. They were professional and on time. The representative did a great job. It has only been about a week but so far everything seems to be ok with my windshield. No leaks or any other issues that I've noticed. I chose the option for them to come to my home to complete the work and it was covered under my insurance so I didn't have to pay a dime. This made the process very easy for me. They were about to get out to me very quickly, the first appointment had to be delayed due to weather, but that was at no fault of theirs. Drove 45 minutes in 2 vehicles to drop one off for windshield replacement. Drove back home and immediately got a call to say they don't have parts to do the job and I should come and collect the vehicle , so another 45 minute drive out to collect the vehicle again. I was offered a $50 discount for 3 hours of driving and gas to accomplish nothing.... No thank you. Next time, make sure you have the tools to do the job before customers arrive. My insurance would cover full cost of the windshield replacement if I went through them. So unfortunately I didn't have a choice. I provided my email and phone number on their online scheduling, received confirmation email the day before AND morning of that my appointment was scheduled for 8am-1pm. Took the morning off work, they never showed. Called and customer service said "Since it's passed the window time, we will have to reschedule." Unfortunately, I cannot afford to take off work again for another no call no show. Overall frustrating experience. The lady at the front desk had an attitude and made me feel like I was inconveniencing her by dropping my keys off to have my windshield replaced. I called hours later to find out when my car would be finished and the lady I spoke with on the phone was rude and unhelpful, and she told me she didn't know what was going on with my car. I called again around 4:30 and finally spoke with a nice lady, and she said I could go ahead and head up there because they should be done in 15 minutes. My spouse made an appointment to have minor (at the time) windshield damage repaired in Aiken, South Carolina. That morning, the tech phoned him to change the scheduled time, and my husband returned the call, advising that wasn't convenient. Another, later phone conversation ensued, wherein the tech accused my husband of refusing to return his call, so we should have known the appointment was moving downhill then. When the tech arrived, he didn't bother to notify my husband that he was on the premises, and he proceeded to apply a substance to the windshield that didn't hide the damage AT ALL. In fact, it left a large smudge which obscured the driver's side vision. His "efforts" ruined the windshield, and now Safelite has to replace it completely. He had requested to fix the windshield early - we're guessing so his rounds would be finished for the day. This experience has been ridiculous. What should have been a simple application of resin to a crack has escalated into a stressful example of what happens when a tech doesn't get to set his own schedule. This is the second time we used Safelight to repair my windshield. The first time the person installing the glass rubbed his button of his pants against the paint, and scratched the side of my SUV up. It had to be repainted. This time we rescheduled (reluctantly). My husband waited for over an hour only to be told they didn't order all the right parts. We had this appointment for over 2 weeks, and live 45 minutes away. After he left, and got home he realized that they forgot to put the antenna back on the vehicle. This is inexcusable! I would completely cancel transaction, but they have the antenna to my vehicle. Had these folks install several windshields for me. Did a great job until the last one. Should have called about it sooner. It leaked, they sent a technician to my residence and he couldn't find the leak, he suggested I take it to their facility on Winhill Road. Took it there, left it over night. Got a text the next morning at 7:30 am that work had begun on my vehicle. At 2:00 pm I had heard nothing, so I text them because this was only supposed to take a couple hours. At 2:40 pm I got another response saying the work had begun again and approximately 15 minutes later I get a telephone call stating my windshield was fine apparently I had a leak in the body frame. I go to pick up my car and the right side of the windshield is covered in finger prints and filthy. No sign of a water test. They offered me to take it to another facility in another town, like I don't work.
