Posted a long review on Google and their site. Basically had 3 different days taken waiting for tech to go never finished the job. Could not get my money back essentially because I paid out of pocket rather than using insurance. Wrong windshield was brought first day. Then calibration was never possible. Was lied to numerous times and reaching a person via phone is impossible because of their ai system. It's been over a week and I still cannot get ahold of a manager. read more

Got windshield replaced 01/25/25. After leaving the shop, a piece that borders the windshield flies off as we are driving not a mile down the road. We turn around to head back to the shop to let them know what happened and were told the part could not be ordered until Monday. On 01/31/25, we are told that the part was just ordered that morning. We will be going out of town, and expected this careless mistake to be corrected asap. Sadly, it was not a priority for Safelite to correct their negligence. After much back and forth with insurance company and Safelite corporate and local manager since then, we were finally told that the part was in and we're scheduled for today, 02/10/25, to get it installed. Even got confirmation emails for the appt. Arrive to said appt today to be told the part was not in. Other than apologizing for "miscommunication" for the umpteenth time, they cannot correct THEIR mistake. We have called Regal Kia right down the road and they have the necessary part in stock to get our issue resolved. They are choosing not to. read more

my insurance carrier sent me to safelite on commerce road in Lakeland, fl. they had to reschedule my first appointment because I needed to have the manufacturer glass. I was nervous when watching the repair people as they appeared to be struggling with the sensors and the calibration required. when I left them my car sensors went off and they did not calibrate the windshield correctly. I called to complain about it and a manager was supposed to call me back. I said I was nervous bringing my car back after watching how the techs handle the install. I am at my dealership and it is costing me $277 to have them try to fix the mess that is now my "new" windshield. safe life charged my insurance company over $1200 read more

Horrible customer service. Can't get anyone on the phone. Canceled my appointment after missing 1/2 day of work. Then came out for my tailgate to no longer read closed in which the shop wouldn't answer and they wanted to wait days to comeback out. I had Windshield Replacement in September 2024. I dropped my car off and went home. Received a call minutes later asking me to come get my car as Safelite replacement windshield was damaged and I needed to reschedule. In later October I had Safelite come to my home and replace my passenger side window as it had a crack in it. AGAIN he told me that this replacement window was also damaged and I had to reschedule yet again. Here I am again waiting for Safelite to come out and replace my passenger side window which is scheduled for 11/09 but am not counting on it as there are not reliable. I wish I could rate them in the negative however 1 start is the best I can do. read more

I had my window replaced at the Lakeland store. Within 2 days, the top trim piece was coming off. I had to go back to get this fixed. Couple weeks go by, same piece starts coming off. I request a home visit. Where the trim piece is coming off, there is a "pit" which starts to spread. I request my window be replaced as I felt the pit was a result of the trim being fixed. The technician they sent was also a forensic expert since there was no possible way that was from our tool. He then takes his metal ice pick to jam the trim back up into place. He also stats they will never replace a window unless they break it themselves so don't listen to the commercial because their guarantee is to take your money. read more

I called to schedule my appointment because of a rock hitting my windshield and shattered and they were able to come to my job 2 days later. They say 100% satisfaction guaranteed! Well, not true! A piece of molding flew off my car shortly after they replaced my windshield (two technicians were involved; one was training.) I was not able to speak with anyone about the issue bc no one would answer the phone, but I clearly noted the problem when I scheduled a warranty issue online. The technician came to my car completely unaware of the problem! Once he got there, he phoned his supervisor who told him that they would not replace the molding because it had been too long. What good is a guarantee if they don't back it up? Sincerely, 100% Not Satisfied! Looks like customer service cares because they posted below; however, I emailed them immediately upon notification of their comment and I have yet to hear back from them! #Disappointed! read more

You did more than let me down. I was planning on selling the vehicle 2 weeks ago, put a down payment on another vehicle with a private party. Can't complete that purchase without the money from selling the van you guys took the VIN off. Can't drive my vehicle to my multiple medical appointments I have each week as it isn't legal to drive in the state of Dlorida with the windshield VIN missing. Your customer service department keeps telling me to drive it and you guys will take care of any issues I have. I trusted you to do the repair right, and you haven't done it, so how can I trust you to manage any legal issues from driving a vehicle with no windshield VIN? I just want to know when my vehicle will have the VIN replaced so I can get it sold and start going to my medical appointments again. I'm already 2 weeks behind on my treatments! Not happy with the repair from Safelite in Lakeland Florida. Had a very tiny pen dot nick in the windshield. Safelight repaired this tiny nick today and I can see where the repair is as that area is now a hazy white spec on my windshield BUT what I am upset about is that within this hazy white repair area is a black line that I thought was a short piece of black hair that somehow was incorporated (by accident of course) to the repair job. I pointed it out to the manager and a Tech and they said "sorry but that black line in the repaired area of the glass is PART OF THE REPAIR". WHAT. WHY would a black line be part of a repair job of a glass windshield?? WTH. They both acted like it was no big deal. I called Safelight main line to register a complaint and was put on hold several times and then transferred to someone's voicemail and then I was disconnected. I also found out after the fact the Lifetime warranty on their work does NOT apply to the repair they did on my Tacoma truck windshield. AND WHY would a black line be incorporated into a windshield repair?? Windshields do NOT have black lines in bedded into the glass. Why would a glass repair ever have a black line in the repair job?? read more

Where do I even begin! This place is HORRIBLE! I only used this place because it is a guaranteed repair shop for my insurance company. I set an appointment with my insurance company after getting an original piece of glass approved from GEICO. Upon getting to my 8 AM appt, they want to charge me $400+ dollars because of the original glass. Even if I went to Tesla directly, I would have only paid $350 due to their per hour costs. So I called GEICO and they told me it was approved, and they didn't know why there was an issue. GEICO tried to contact the office, but nobody answered, even though there were 4 people in the office doing nothing. So I gave my phone to them and they spoke to GEICO and resoldved the issue. Safelight had the notes in their system already, but nobody zeroed it out to have it covered. So then to realize that they didn't have the original glass, it had to be ordered. Fast forward to my next appointment, today. I drop the vehicle off at 8 AM again, and they try to charge me $100 deductible. I explained it's Florida and it's a front windshield, and there is no deductible on a front windshield in FL. Finally he sees the "computer error" and fixes it. Second time there is an accounting error with this office. and within 3 miles of leaving, I get an email stating that my appointment has been cancelled. I try no less than 8 times to contact the office to find out what that was about, and eventually I get Safelight, but not the local office. I ask them what it was about, so she tries to contact the location, and she can't get through either. Come to find out, they still don't have the correct glass. Never have I been contacted by the local office where I have left my vehicle. If they had of called when they realized, I was only 3 miles away and could have come got my vehicle. The main office emailed the local office to contact me, and that was 30 minutes ago, still no call. HORRIBLE customer service. So I go back to the office, I walk in and the guy says, " Did they call you, we though we had the right glass?" I told hi nobody called and the the corporate office tried to call them. He then went to find my car, just to come back and say that the windshield is half installed. Nobody knows what's happening there. Then he said it takes Tesla's longer that a normal car, so about 12-1 pm, maybe sooner, and gave me his personal cell to be able to check on it, but he would call when it was done. 10 minutes later the technician calls, to ask me to unlock the car with my app, cause they locked the key card inside the car. Now I have the technicians number a swell. So 1 pm comes and goes, then at 2:30, because I didn't get a call, i try to call the office manager and the technicians phone 2 times each, NO ANSWER. I show up, and he acts like nothing is wrong. I ask about my car, and he says it's ready. I asked who is in charge of calling when its done, he said the technician. I told him of my 4 calls, and he was like, "You called my phone?" He picks his phone up that 12 inches from him and sees 2 missed calls. This place is VERY POORLY RAN! Please go somewhere else to get your windshield replaced. read more

After several episodes. Safelight successfully solved the windshield dilemma and I am happy with the results.

7th attempt now to repair our windshield. 1st time road service tech did not show up at all. 2nd try, tech shows up. Doesn't have the correct windshield and car needs to be calibrated for the camera system. 3rd attempt drive to shop, which is a 2 hour round trip. Shop doesn't have the correct windshield again. 4th attempt. No joke. Rat jumps into the engine compartment while parked at the shop. Gets caught in radiator fan and breaks it. They refused to work on the car, worried it would overheat. Not throwing any blame on that situation. 5th attempt. Drive to shop again. Again, do not have the correct windshield. 6th. Shop replaces windshield and calibrates it. Finally. With a poor cheaper replacement. Now emailed yesterday requesting we return to shop again. Calibration was done incorrectly. Are you kidding me? While sitting and waiting in the shoo. Seems like many people were getting disappointing news and a lot of excuses. What did we get for our trouble. Free wipers that don't even fit the windshield correctly. AVOID this shoo at all costs. read more

Driving many years, I never had a windshield crack. I reported to my insurance first and learned there's no deductible on windshields in Florida. They only deal with Safelite and gave the option of going to their shop for a 2 hour process or having them come to my home for a 4 hour window for that 2 hour process. Since it did not get me in any sooner I went with the home service, a little disappointed it was a week's wait since watching the crack grow was worrisome. I drove to the shop to make sure national insurance co phone to national Safelite co phone "dealing" was truthful about the local scheduling wait. Both were. The guy at the local shop was very reassuring, even walking out to look at the crack and explaining the process. The day of service I received a 9 am call in my 8-12 window that the tech was out sick and I was added onto someone else's schedule for 1-4 pm, and that my appointment would be "iffy" pending finding a second tech for the two-person job--may need to be rescheduled. Noth thrilling news, but I was glad a sick person wasn't coming and was learning to be patient in their delivery of service process. Two techs showed at 2 pm and were finished by 3 pm. Stephanie was an excellent professional, polite, kind and efficient. I signed approval and completion and both receipts were in my e-box before they left. Though I didn't like waiting the week and the morning, their overall business plan was efficient for getting a lot of work finished in a day and I was grateful to get mine done. They deserve nothing less than the 5 stars for their work efficiency, knowledge and quality efforts on site which includes reprogramming the wipers, reinstalling the rearview mirror, working carefully, quality detail finishing, etc. The only improvement I could wish for would be "same day service" but I realize volume is hard to predict. read more

On Monday, July 15, I called Safelite to replace a cracked windshield. The soonest they could come was on Friday, July 21. That was fine, I understand that I wasn't the only person needing their windshield replaced, although 5 days seemed long. They gave us a time -window of 12-5 which meant one of us needed to take the day off. Safelite was very good at sending me reminders of the appointment. When the repairman arrived at 3 (in a personal unmarked vehicle) he said he only came prepared to "patch" a crack, not replace a windshield and our windshield could not be "patched". He stood in our driveway and said he was ordering a windshield, write down our vin# and other information. That was over 2 weeks ago. The sent me an email thanking us for our business and asked for a review. Prior to their email, I had sent them 2 emails asking when I could expect the new windshield so arrangements could be made at work and got no response. It's coming up on 3 weeks now and nothing. I wanted to give them a fair chance but obviously my business wasn't that important. My advice is, if you want your windshield replaced, go somewhere else. read more

They do replace front windshield's on cars. However; I come from the Sunshine State, and they DO NOT replace any tinted windows, so, I have to go with another company. I don't have time to run around - waiting for all these services to break their promises on the time. I have taken off an entire day to wait, and they never showed up. No calls/ No texts/ No nothing! This review is for your phone system that will not allow you to talk to a life body under any circumstance. When I call a phone number it is because I CAN NOT get the answer to my question on line. What if I was an old person that did not have a computer? I would be out of luck getting through to this company. You need too fix your system so that a person with a question that can not be covered on line can get a answer without driving a lot of miles to get to your shop. I looked at your quote for fixing 3 rock nicks. The material cost was $7.99 and the labor was $174.00. What do you have to do to justify that much labor cost. My windshield was put it great!! No issues there!! I noticed there was a dent on the inside of my door and deep scratches on the inside panel (where VIN and tire pressure info is). I reported this to the Lead CA, and sent pics, only for the manager Tyler to callback and state that their techs could not have did it. Then went in to say it looks like someone tried to get in your vehicle. I have cameras in my carport, no one tried to get in my vehicle. Tyler didn't try to ask his Tech any questions pertaining to this, just went straight into pointing fingers elsewhere, terrible Customer Service. I should've followed my first mind and not associated with this company, due to all the bad reviews. Lesson learned!!!! read more

My wife's car had a crack across the top of the windshield. When she arrived, they replaced the glass and then informed her that it was a 'temporary glass' because the correct glass was not ordered for her Acura MDX. She was not given a time when the 'correct glass' would be ordered or when it could be replaced. We were not informed the 'correct glass' was not available prior to the 'temporary glass' being installed. Please avoid this group. If the correct windshield could not have been ordered and arrive on-time (2 week lead time), I would have expected to be informed. I have nothing good to say about this service or group. I was there yesterday to get the windshield replaced on my Tundra, then this morning I noticed that my dash cam had a dying battery, despite being plugged in. While troubleshooting I started to pull the cable out from behind my headliner only to have it very easily pull apart in my hands. Not only did they sever the cord (I assume through carelessness) but then did probably the worst splice I've ever seen and hoped I would never notice. If they just would have been upfront and said they damaged the wire it would be no big deal. Not only did they try to sweep it under the rug, but the splice was literally done as wrong as possible. All the individual wire insulation was stripped back to the main cable insulation (so there was nothing preventing the wires from touching) and the the wires were just taped together. You dont need training to tell you that's wrong, you should know better just from being alive. I will never use Safelite again, if for no other reason than the lack of honesty and integrity. My front and rear windshields needed to be replaced I scheduled a service and the tech Gabriel came out. He was very professional but was unable to complete the service as the wrongs windshields were ordered. The correct windshields were supposedly ordered and a new service date was scheduled. The second tech Zachary came out and the windows were still the wrong size. He was able to get the right size ordered and returned 2 days later and installed the windshields The people at safelite were all very polite and professional. I do want to say that Zachary was excellent. He assured me the right part was finally ordered and came to ensure everything went smoothly. We drove my daughter to Florida for college, when we arrived she had 2 chips in her windshield. I scheduled her an appointment with this location. When they took her new vehicle in to repair the chips they cracked her windshield. Instead of taking responsibility for the crack they stated it could have already been there and wanted to charge $650 for a new one. Absolute fraud. Stay away from this location. read more

The technician called on his way and said "I hope you don't mind an after market windshield instead of Mopar". I let him know I preferred original parts but he then stated that the insurance company didn't allow them to use original parts? I pay the insurance bill! So I called the insurance company and they said that was not true and put me over to.Safelite warranty department this dude argued with me and said I don't see the problem it's a windshield and it's under warranty. can't put in less than one star and that's what they deserve... i made my appointment time with them on Tuesday for Saturday that same week. was told between 8:00 am and 12:00 pm they would show up. then got a call from the windshield tech saying he would be there at 10:00 am to do the repair. at 9:30am he called back saying his boss added another call to his list that day so that put him behind and couldn't show up until 1:00 pm. The tech finally showed up at 1:35. the tech did a good job but with safelight there's no one to call it's all automated. I personally won't use them again read more

Had appointment with them today (took day off) stayed home in the time said (12:30 to 5). Get a text from specialist saying he is on his way. I waited one hour and called number on text and went to dispatch and she had no response for me as to why the guy is not answering and it shows he canceled and made appointment for tomorrow. I will not be home tomorrow. Dispatcher had no one else I could speak to and said no one is answering any of her calls and put me on hold in the middle of me talking.
