I brought my Tesla to Safelite for a windshield replacement and specifically told the employees that they could drive the vehicle for calibration, but that it needed to remain in Service Mode because driving outside of Service Mode could affect my Tesla Insurance Safety Score. I saw the vehicle before it left the parking lot and explicitly told them not to drive it outside of Service Mode. They ignored that instruction, removed the vehicle from Service Mode, and drove it on public roads anyway. While they had my car, their driving triggered an Excessive Speeding event in Tesla's Safety Score system and lowered my Safety Score. I repeatedly told Safelite to bring my vehicle back. I made that request more than five times, and they continued driving it. I then asked for a manager. When he came out, he told me that they would never take my business again because I complained about this. This was not a hypothetical concern. Their decision to disregard my explicit instructions resulted in an actual negative change to my Tesla Insurance Safety Score. I am escalating this to Safelite corporate and requesting a formal investigation into both the handling of my vehicle and the management response. read more

Got my glass repaired, insurance only covered this place. Service was good though the lady working the front is not very helpful. She called me an hour after their stated hours to tell me my car was ready. I called back seven times (10 seconds after her call) to find out when they were actually closing, as it's a 30 min ride from my house. They will not answer the phones after stated hours. My car ended up staying overnight because I couldn't pay for an uber out and back if they weren't going to be there. If you are keeping peoples cars past closing time, you need to answer the phones after you call for pickup. It's not ok to leave people without a car overnight! read more

They came to my house replaced my windshield but broke the clips the molding that sits on my windshield. That was in April. I just got it fixed correctly this week. 2 months later and a lot of headaches. They even tried taping it on there is no parking people just dropping their cars in the parking lot not in parking spaces. When I went in multiple times there were people in there for work after the work was completed some took months like me. Complete disaster !! read more

Definitely do not recommend. Of course my insurance recommends them BECAUSE that's who they deal with. I definitely glad I am not dealing with them anymore. Scheduled my windshield repair, changed my mind after talking with the technician that I'd rather have the whole windshield replaced. Everything was fine, until the day before my appointment was told that it'd need be rescheduled because the glass they ordered was wrong. So now, I've been waiting for almost a month for this appointment (by choice, my schedule has been hectic), the day before the appointment arrives and it's cancelled. Truly disappointed. How do you give negative stars? Do not use Safelite. Something hit us on the freeway and shattered 50% of the windshield. Made the appt with Safelite through insurance. The car is not drivable. Got an email confirming appt, but had the wrong type of car listed, email stated it was an EV car, but it's not an EV. Called Safelite about the car type, they said no worries, we got this. Day of appt, no show. Got a text from driver that said we were an add-on to his schedule, so he cannot make it. How are we an add-on when we made the appt 4 days ago?? So, we reschedule. Installer shows up with an EV windshield. Again, the car is not drivable. He leaves, no follow up. Had to call and reschedule yet again. How does Safelite manage to turn a simple windshield replacement into the biggest cluster ever? Are they trained for this? Even though we did their job for them by telling them about the incorrect information, they STILL manage to get it wrong? I have used them all the time in the past and they were excellent. It's so disappointing that now another company has fallen. My husband is a disabled vet who relies on his vehicle. Do better. read more

Avoid this place at all costs. The manager is extremely rude and unprofessional.. if I owned this shop, he'd be fired on the spot for the way he talks to customers. Here's what happened: On 8/20, my wife took our car in for a windshield replacement (through insurance). She drove it home, and we let it sit. By 8/23, I noticed a crack starting from the bottom edge of the windshield (a classic sign of an installation issue). I immediately emailed Safelite's warranty department, got no reply, and had to call customer service. They scheduled a warranty appointment for 8/27. On 8/26, a rep called to "confirm" and rudely insisted I had to bring the car in, even though I had originally been told it would be mobile service. I still agreed, because I needed it fixed. On 8/27, my wife waited 45 minutes past her appointment only to be told they would not honor the warranty. Their excuse? "New damage." They pointed to a so-called "impact spot" that was not there when I first reported the crack. I have dated photos proving this. Even the tech originally said it looked like a bad install -- until the manager got involved and changed the story. In other words, they lied to avoid warranty work. This is absolutely a case of poor installation and dishonest business practices. Safelite advertises a nationwide warranty but refuses to honor it. Update: I escalated to Safelite's own corporate team. They admitted this was an installation failure -- but said they would still refuse warranty coverage because it's "policy to protect the shop." That says everything you need to know about how Safelite really treats customers. Update: Safelite replied here with "Sorry we let you down Andrew." Honestly, that shows exactly what's wrong. This isn't about "letting me down"... it's about installing a windshield that cracked within 3 days, refusing to honor your warranty, and then admitting it was an install failure while still siding with the shop. A generic one-liner apology with no action, no compassion, and no accountability is just more proof that Safelite doesn't take responsibility for their mistakes. UPDATE: They came to fix the problem on 3/21... or so I thought... When I drove hours later, I could hear air leaking on the driver side windshield!! ‍ I contacted them on Friday and they were supposed to call me back to schedule for the next service, but they didn't, and they didn't call me on Monday either, so I had to call to schedule again! They are coming this week but I really hope that they will fix it this time! It's ridiculous that I have to waste so much time! When we used them years ago with window replacement, they were really good so we chose them, but I will not recommend them to anyone!! ORIGINAL: I had the windshield replacement service initially scheduled on 3/14, but they mistyped the VIN and brought a wrong windshield, so it was rescheduled for 3/16. When the tech arrived, he didn't ring the bell, he just knocked on the door, which is odd considering that our doorbell is big and noticeable. We only knew he was there because our doorbell detected a person at the front door. Anyway, before the job was completed, I received a text message telling me that the tech is wrapping up and he would reach out soon with service summary. Then after 1.5hrs, I received another text letting me know the replacement was complete. I was waiting for him to come to explain the job he has done. But after about 5mins, he still didn't come so I checked outside, and he was already gone!! I checked the windshield, and realised that the trim molding on one side was too short and there was a gap, and on the other side was too long!! The rain can seep in in it rains! It was just a few minute past their business hours so I couldn't get hold of anyone. And the windshield washer doesn't even spray anymore. It wasn't full but there was fluid. I filled it and tried it multiple times. It still doesn't come out. So I made an appointment online and got a confirmation for today, 3/18. No one has contacted me yet so I called to get the ETA. They said the service was never made (what?!). I have a record of the appointment, but they said no one was available today, the earliest that a tech was available was on Thursday!! A day before my appointment they cancel and tell me they got the wrong glass and need to postpone. I wait 2 weeks for the new one and get an 8AM when they open appointment rescheduled. Traffic accident on their street makes me 10 minutes late walking in. They cancel my appointment.. no call no nothing. Now they want to schedule me another 10 days out. Made an appointment and had all information for my car, including VIN given to the company ahead of time. The quality of service at this store is horrible. I wish I could call the people that work there technicians but that would be to far from the truth. A technician ensures the job is done correctly and doesn't cause additional damage unlike these labors do. They harassed and rushed me to pick up my vehicle so they could go home early. They did a quality check on my vehicle and just accepted that the driver side wiper stopped in the middle of the windshield and that was ok. This caused the wiper motor to burn up and also strip out the wiper arm, additionally it snapped the mount off the wiper motor mount and I believe that is what cracked the brand new windshield. The manager there told me to pound sand and they were not covering any of the work. That store needs a leadership change. read more

On August 22, 2024 I had Safelite replace a broken rear quarter window on my vehicle. the technician (Mike) damaged the quarter panel. He told me he would let the manager (she was on a day off) know and she would contact me. It is now 8/26/24 and I haven't heard back from anyone. I discovered he also scratched the interior trim panel on my vehicle after he left. I can live with that but not the quarter panel. It needs to be repainted before it starts to rust. Two years ago, they replaced a windshield for me. I took time off from work and as I was pulling into their driveway for my appointment, I got a call saying they would have to reschedule. What is going on Safelite? Very poor service. I will be sharing my experience with Progressive Insurance. They need to find a new company to do their glass repairs. Update, they finally installed a new windshield. The problem this time is the windshield wipers I had paid for were ruined during the initial installation (covered in glue that ruined the windshield). I specifically asked every time I spoke with someone that those need to be replaced under warranty since I paid for them and they were damaged in the installation. I marked the damaged wiper so I could confirm replacement. I went to pick up the car, and checked, the wipers were not changed! I brought this up, and was lied to that the wipers HAD been changed. I told them how I knew, and after a heated discussion, they replaced them. If you do (PLEASE DON'T) use this company, check EVERYTHING before leaving. Make sure your wipers work, washers, etc. because after four trips, loss of work, and expense of Lyft it was not worth it!!!! read more

It took almost a month and 3 appointments with the technician receiving the wrong glass, before we finally gave up and used American Auto Glass who handled it in 2 days. Our front driver door window shattered on our Honda Odyssey, and we called the same day to schedule a replacement with Safelite. We provided the year, make, model, and even the VIN. They came 9 days later and the technician quickly informed us he had the wrong glass. This cycle repeated 2 more times, then they told us it would take another 9 days to get the glass. We asked repeatedly if they could next day ship it because we had a vacation and really needed the vehicle. They said they couldn't do that and it would be another 8 days. After getting it replaced I called to cancel and they were telling me there was another issue with the glass before I could inform them I was cancelling. Honestly, they seemed relieved that I was canceling. I believe they were also more expensive than American Auto Glass too. The technicians and manager at the local office were all knowledgeable and friendly and went to extra effort to communicate and try and get the job done, but I get the feeling the company is not equipping them or their warehouse with proper staffing and quality control processes. read more

This is a company car and the agency made me take it here or I would not have brought it to a safe flight. They lost the clips for the molding inside and said they weren't there and the moldings for the outside of the window are bent in and you can see the scratches from them crying at the windshield molding trying to get it off. They bent it and now it doesn't sit flush to the car and I have to let them know cuz it wasn't even in there it was hanging off. read more

The Safelite in Melbourne, Florida is absolutely horrible. I made two appointments the first appointment they ordered the wrong glass so the second time I made the appointment I drove up there which is a 40 minute drive for me to make sure that they ordered the correct glass. The person came out, looked at the glass and then I went and I dropped my truck off overnight it took all day to be told that they ordered the wrong glass again this is absolutely ridiculous. Very unprofessional. I am willing to pay an additional $300 to go somewhere else other than deal with this place once again. read more

Windshield repair-I've been to this location twice and both times they were not ready for me even though I made appointments both times. The first time I requested the Melbourne FL location and they booked me in Port St. Lucie even though Melbourne is closer. Then they called me again this week to say that my windshield was in stock and we could set up a time which I did. When I arrived today, they told me that it was indeed I stock and we could set up a time for me to come back. So, needless to say, I said never mind. It is approximately an 80-mile round trip for us and we have wasted time and gas to get here. read more

I made an appointment at the store a week in advance, I asked to leave work early so I could take the car to have the glass changed! but arriving at the company I was waiting for almost 1:30 hours and after that time waiting they told me that the part I would need to calibrate my glass had just broken (my time was 4:00pm and this was almost 5:30pm) incredibly I It was the last one and everyone was already wanting to leave! a tremendous lack of respect and on top of that the company has employees who lie to customers! Horrible place. I will never use Safelite again for the rest of my life. Nobody in my family will use Safelite for the rest of our lives. If you have any vehicle older than 5 years old they aren't worth your time. They worked with my insurance to get the glass they needed. Then they scheduled an appointment. We went through hell working with them because our insurance told us to go there. First appointment they said they forgot to put the glass on the truck. KEEP IN MIND THEY HAD ALREADY LOOKED AT THE TRUCK TWICE. We came in to the store 6 months previously to get a quote. Second visit they told us that they can't remove the glass because they got rid of their special tool. We did a patch up job and they told us we needed to go to a collision repair shop to remove the patch up job. We came home punched out the patch up job and brought it back. Third visit they then said they could remove it. They remove the glass. They left the truck a mess with glass everywhere then called us up and said that they ordered the wrong glass because it didn't fit. ITS A GLASS COMPANY THAT DOESN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO ORDER GLASS. Then they told us that they can't find the glass anywhere on the market. They told us that if we could find glass they would replace it. We went to a junkyard and found glass. They said they can't use previously used glass. They wrapped the open window hole with plastic. Then they told us to just take our business elsewhere. So we had to go through the trouble of canceling the insurance claim. OUR PATCH UP JOB WAS BETTER THAN ANYTHING SAFELITE COULD DO. Frustrated we went to a collision repair place that referred us to another glass place. The glass place had the glass in stock and said its a really common piece of glass to find. Safelite couldn't find a really common piece of glass let alone replace it. What a joke for a company. They overcharge too. They quoted over $800 and this other glass place gave us the same piece of glass + installation for $300. Its amazing that Safelite is still around. read more

I would give negative stars if I could. Not only did they not order all the parts for my windshield replacement, but they DAMAGED my hood during install. After months of battling to get my hood repaired, they finally agreed to pay for the damages. However, my vehicle has been sitting at the body shop (repair completed) and Safelite is not sending payment so I can pickup my vehicle. Took a total of 5 attempts (5 different days) to repair my window, The result is they installed an aftermarket window, broke my wiper sensor module. Had to get it to dealer for repair, gave them copy of repair and haven't heard from them in 3 weeks. Can't call anyone, because their shop number is not listed. And their 844 number it a bot that says use the site then hangs up on you. The shop is 30 miles away and I guess now I have to physically go down there again to demand payment. I Set up an appointment for windshield repair in a 4 hour window between 8 am and 12pm. I stayed home all morning expecting updates on arrival time as advertised, via text message or phone call. Finally at 11:30 a tech called me stating he had just received my work order but had a job before mine so it would be more than 2 hours before he could get to me and he was over 40 minutes away. It was a completely different tech than the e-mail confirmation, sent to me introducing the person that would arrive at my house. I called the office to voice my displeasure and Ha... a watered down apology doesn't work after this drawn out ordeal. This is the second time Safe Lite of Melbourne has done this, in fact it was even worse last time after the repair on a different car didn't work and they had to order a new windshield. On Thursday September 28, 2023, Alan of Safelite Auto Glass 4180 New Haven Ave, Melbourne, FL around 4:45pm came to replace my front windshield of my 2015 Honda Pilot. Alan placed the new windshield in the garage to keep dry. Drizzling out and pulled my car into the garage. Around 6:30pm Alan informed me he couldn't get my windshield out and broke his tools. Alan informed me someone would be out first thing in the morning. I had appointments Friday morning, and Alan assured me the auto would be repaired first thing. Alan removed all the molding, wipers, mirror, and auto is not drivable. Alan took the new window with him, and I put the auto fully in the garage to keep dry. On Friday September 29, 2023, I called Safelite and spoke to Keshia and she took my information (she was showing no appointment for me) and informed me someone will get back to me. Amber calls me back and informs me Safelite can come out Saturday September 30, 2023, to repair the windshield. I told Amber, Alan told me first thing today. Amber, who has zero human compassion informs me Alan is off today and she can't contact him. Amber did not care if I was without an auto. I had to accept the Saturday appointment. On Saturday September 30, 2023, I received notification that Kyle will be coming between 8-10 to repair my windshield. Around 8:19 AM I received a call from Kyle informing me the new windshield is broken and they won't be coming today. (I don't believe they had any intention of coming today). Kyle asked me what day is available for them to come back. I told Kyle today he said no, I said tomorrow he said no. In a heated voice I informed Kyle I have no f cking car I am here, tell me when you can get here, he hung up on me. I called my insurance company and spoke to an agent for assistance. She got back to me and informed me Safelite told her the new windshield came in broken from factory. That can't be true since there was a brand-new windshield in my garage on Thursday evening. She told me the window that was broken was a new ordered window. For some unknow reason Alan had the original window in his truck and Safelite could not get in touch with him. Alan told me anything to leave my home on Thursday so he can enjoy his evening and day off. Alan knew when he told me first in morning my windshield would be in his truck while he was on a binge. Alan left my vehicle undrivable, smashed the window (other side of crack) trying to get it out. He took off the windshield wipers, all trim, and panel under the hood. Travelers arranged a rental vehicle till Safelite fixes my windshield. Travelers told me Safelite will repair the windshield on Tuesday October 3, 2023, 8-12. Maria (name on the voice mail he left) arrived Tuesday around 11:41, I showed him the original crack. He went to work to fix the mess Alan left him, when he was finished, he had no idea where Alan put the windshield wipers. We found them and he put them on for me and checked to make sure they were working. No one at his office briefed him on the mess Alan left my vehicle in. long story short: Both my daughter and I have had rock chips on our car windshields. Hers was a quarter size and we saw a tiny hole in the middle when it happened. Mine was smaller with only a dime size and a straight line without a hole. Her car was repaired in Orlando, and it turned out great. My insurance suggested Safelite in Melbourne to repair mine. It was fixed and turned out ugly. Now I can see a hole very clearly??? The same man who repaired my windshield kept saying: if you don't like it, tell the insurance to replace a new windshield for you. He repeated 4 to 5 times. A rock hit the lower right part of my windshield when on the highway and left a small crack. I didn't want this to get worse so I decided to go to safelite to get it fixed. It doesn't look perfect (as they told me before starting anything), but the crack is significantly smaller and won't cause any issues in the future. Made an appointment online and went in the very next day. The tech as well as the lady in the front was professional and very kind. The service was also faster and easier than expected. While I was there I decided to get new windshield wipers and they made a huge difference! Also came with a 5 and a half month warranty. Highly recommend! read more

My wife's windshield had a small nick. Safetlite came to the house to spot correct it. The next day the crack spread. The windshield had to be replaced. An appointment was made. We arrived, they did not have the part. We went back again, then they had the part, but it was broken, we went back a third fine, they replaced the windshield, but left the calibration device in the car. My car had a broken windshield, we drop the car off only once again to find out they did not have the part. I don't need to add any adjectives about this place, the story speaks for itself. read more
