This has been my worst experience with any windshield repair/replacement. Our new to us, 2019 Acura MDX had a chip dead center of the windshield. Took it in for a simple repair and instead the window cracked further leaving us with a windshield that now had about a 6 inch crack right in the field of view. They replaced the windshield with an aftermarket windshield and it wouldn't recalibrate. They then ghosted us for three weeks for an OEM Honda windshield. It was installed and everything worked for about a month and now the same calibration problems won't allow us to use any of the safety features on our vehicle. My less than 1 year old car had a huge crack across the windshield, and regretfully needed a replacement. I've been reading on how expensive my replace would be, due to one of those driver- assistant dual camera mounted on the windshield. Called the dealer and my insurance, and Safelite will be slightly cheaper than the dealer, so I brought my car here. I got an estimate for 2-3 hours, and it was done in 1 hour and 45 minutes. The chip in my windshield couldn't be 100% repaired, so they didn't charge me which I thought was great customer service. I set appointment for my motorhome for a repair with full disclosure of the type of vehicle - they even accessed through my insurance company. When the tech arrived, he said he'd never worked on a class A motorhome, and falsely said he couldn't repair because of location of impact. We asked about replacement and he said they don't replace, even though we were told they would/could if repair wasn't viable. Then I get a text that I'd "successfully cancelled my appointment". I hadn't cancelled. Blessing in disguise. We just wasted our time, and now have the opportunity to warn others. read more

This company surprise me. It was the first time I went there. I had a crack in my windshield and everybody was very expensive with insurance and I couldn't risk keeping this crack in my windshield before it went illegal cause it started on one side and ended up on the other so I called them. What a great place to get a new windshield!! It was very simple to go online and make an appointment for a time and date that was convenient for me. When I arrived I was warmly welcomed, I gave them my keys and they drove my car into the shop. I decided to go for a walk during which I received two texts from Safelite, one telling me that they had started the work and one informing me that my car was ready. The total time was about an hour! If I could give SafeLite in Modesto zero stars, I would. This company is an absolute disaster from top to bottom. We had a windshield replacement on backorder for six months--which, while frustrating, wasn't the real issue. The real nightmare was dealing with their completely incompetent staff. Calling their number never connected us to the local store, and nobody, anywhere in the company, had a clue about our order or how to help us. Every representative we spoke to was uninformed, unhelpful, and completely clueless about how their own business operates. When our windshield finally arrived, things somehow got even worse. They scheduled an appointment, yet lost our windshield and had no idea where it was. We had to escalate through our insurance company and even involve a regional contact just to get a simple windshield replacement sorted out. The level of stress, disorganization, and incompetence this company caused was beyond unacceptable. There is zero excuse for a business to operate this way. The branch manager, general manager, and district manager either need to be retrained or replaced because this level of dysfunction should not be tolerated. I will absolutely be speaking with my insurance company to demand better options because SafeLite is a pathetic excuse for a business, and no one should have to deal with their income . Very friendly staff here! I've worked with Safelite AutoGlass in Modesto, California twice, and each time has been wonderful and educational. I had a windshield chip last year, and this place corrected it right away. Since the damage is not as large as a dollar note, they can simply fill it to stop it from getting worse. I have had no problems at all, and everything has operated perfectly. My family member most recently discovered a chip in the windshield. By the looks of it, the old chip is the source! I've never noticed it and have driven worry-free. However after this was brought to my attention, I began to doubt myself and believe the earlier repair was a failure. Through Permaplate, I scheduled an appointment with Safelite AutoGlass. Since there's a chance it was a failed repair, they were quoting me to replace the windshield entirely. I arrived here and was greeted immediately by the staff. Three individuals (two females and one male) who were very friendly and quickly checked me in. Before they started anything, I asked if they could confirm if I needed a windshield replacement from the "chip". What better people to ask than the professionals right? The lead staff assisted me with the matter and QUICKLY diagnosed my problem. I didn't require a new windshield or a fill for the chipped glass that was causing me so much concern. She assured me it was completed with a great job from last year and to keep an eye on it if it expands. It must have been my eyes playing with me. The staff assisted with canceling my appointment and I went along home. I will definitely be back here whenever I need a windshield repair, although, hopefully not anytime soon. read more

Quick and easy service! Going through insurance was easy and hassle free. Pricing varies depending on your insurance. But very professional.

I had a cracked windshield and Safelite came to my house and repaired it. Getting it set up is fast and easy. The work got done when I was not home. When I pulled up the tech had already left, I immediately noticed glass all over the sidewalk and street. The windshield was only cracked when I left. Glass was also all over the interior of the vehicle with no attempt made to clean it up. The dashboard was scratched up, the hood had deep scratches in 5 places. No effort was made to put a barrier down to protect the inside or outside of the vehicle not any effort to clean the glass or sweat marks on the interior. The cover for the auto braking sensor looked like a five year old installed it with a hammer. This is a vehicle with less than 10k miles and six months old. I have made two trips to Safelite for them to fix the damage and over 8 hours of waiting, the job was also over $1700. Go anywhere else for car window repairs. read more

What a joke! I have had multiple previous experiences with satellite over the course of the years, all of them have been positive, except this one. I schedule the drop off well in advance and I showed up at 8:30 AM that is 30 minutes after they open. I parked my car up front and dropped off my keys with someone inside the Safelite office. While I understood my car could be ready anytime up until 5 o'clock when they closed. I was assured by the satellite employee that it was going to be done by two, and I was going to get updates via text or call. For a time I dropped off my car until the time I showed up at Safelite at 4:24 PM. My car was not moved from the spot. I dropped it off in the repairs were not done and I did not receive any call with any update whatsoever. The person working the front desk seemed clueless. She had no idea what the status of my car was or even if it was worked on. Explain to her my car was in their possession for more than eight hours and now 30 minutes before closing my car was not even moved. There's no way Safelite is going to slam out a windshield in 30 minutes. I grabbed my keys and told her I will never do business with that location again. Food for thought for anyone that's ever going to have a windshield repaired or replaced schedule them to come to your location at least then they can be held more accountable rather than dropping it off for a day and not doing squat. read more

Scheduled an appointment for my glass repair and my repairman was Nicholas said he would be here between 8AM-1PM and he never showed. He claimed he rang my doorbell which is a ring camera proving he in fact did not ring my doorbell because there is zero footage of him and attempted to call me which he did not. Extremely upset about this experience as I have paid in advance for a windshield replacement and was unable to work my independent job because I had to make sure I was available for my windshield replacement. Now I have to wait even longer for my new windshield as I had to be rescheduled. This is extremely inconvenient and unacceptable. read more

Horrible quality material used for their windshields and their lifetime warranty is also a scam! I got replacement and 2 weeks later the safelight windshield had a small crack in it I assume an acorn or something may have fell on it but not sure. Safelight won't warranty the windshield if something may have fell on it. At this point if a small nut or leaf can crack it tells me the product is very poor and I am not safe with it on my car. Getting it replaced by a different company. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS UNSAFE PRODUCT. And takes forever trying to reach a live person. Had my windshield replaced a while back. The technician was very professional and explained the whole process. After the installation, the tape they put on the car peeled a fairly large chunk of paint off my roof. I called the manger and he referred me to an auto body shop they usually work with when things like this happen. Safelite paid for paint repair. I appreciate the manager working through it with me. Just be prepared that this could happen to your car. The technician took before and after pictures, but I would recommend taking your own. read more

I request my windshield to be repaired through my insurance. Safelite came to my house to repair. I had a crack with several star like cracks surrounding it. They filled the middle spot with something that made it worse. It's fuzzy/blurry/bigger than before. Now I can't see through it, it's very visible and they only repaired the middle spot. I still have the surrounding star cracks around the spot which is shining through the windshield onto my dashboard. They quality of the service wasn't acceptable. The tech even hit my car door several times with the stand he used to hold all his equipment on. I know this because I was watching from inside the house through my camera which was pointed directly on him. For the value all I can say is it was covered through my insurance, so $0 out of pocket.
