Safelite in Brighton MA replaced our cracked windshield, but when we got the car back, the windshield camera had completely stopped working and warning lights were going off. They tried to use our insurance to get the camera fixed, then refused to take responsibility--claiming it was already broken. Incompetence or shady business practice; I think the employee flat out lied and knew it was not covered just to get extra work. I had a tech come out on July 10th, 2024 to fix a star crack with epoxy. The tech said the crack appears to be growing so he recommends replacing the windshield and they set a date a week later to come out with the glass to replace it. They call at 3 pm the day before to say they do not have any glass in stock to replace. They claim they found one at a dealership and it would be 15 days to get it and replace. An appointment was made. I rescheduled that morning due to rain, scheduled a week later. They called the morning of my appointment claiming the glass they were loading to come and replace, it damaged and not fit to repair. They have to find another piece of glass. On September 6th I finally am able to speak to the manager, Edward Pavao, of the Norwood Store. He says sorry, says he found a dusty piece of glass that his supplier has in Connecticut. It is now SEPTEMBER 12TH, 2024 and I have not had my windshield fixed. I'm the idiot for waiting so long thinking they would ever fix it. My Massachusetts insurance is paying for it, so money is not an issue. My one measly windshield means nothing against the billions they make, so they really don't have to care. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for 3/3/22.... This appointment was made 2/22/22... I was told by txt and email that I will be notified when the tech was on his way, my appointment window was between 12-5pm they were to come to my place of business... no call no show... and if they did call they did not leave a message... I didn't receive a txt or an email as the automated system said, as I got notification from email and txt for my appointment today. I finally was able to reach customer service after 5, but I had to jump thru hoops calling and then texting back... customer service was nice and understood my frustration... but the tech canceled my work order because "Albert" claimed he could not reach me... not once was a voicemail left, nor did I receive a txt or email... as customer service verified my info... then tried to reschedule me to drive allllll the way to some other town for a Saturday.... No thank you, I'm not going to drive out of my way cause your tech didn't want to do his job. Cheap excuse, and I was waiting all day vigilantly for this appointment. The location I had the appointment with was with the Norwood MA location to come to my job which was a town over, basically a few miles from eachother. I've had at least three replacement windshields done here at their Rt 1 location. All very successful. I've found this particular location provides exceptional service. Most recently, I had a bad install from another location and this one took the vehicle in, diagnosed the partial leak issue (with some pre-sleuthing from me), and refitted the glass (at no charge). I would take my vehicle here again. I think my only complaint is that the location is at a very busy intersection in Norwood, and you must navigate around traffic to get in and out of it. Other than that, I've experienced no unusual problems at this location. read more

The worst automated system/customer service I have ever received in my life. Crack in the windshield of our only vehicle 3 days before our baby is due and safelite can't put you on the phone with a human being - just a robot that asks the same foolish questions before inevitably hanging up on you over and over again. I obviously understand the benefits of automated systems but have never experienced one that had zero options to speak with a human being in the event you may have a nuanced situation of any kind. Even if you do manage to get into the queue it will drop you within 90 seconds every single time. I called a small, local glass company (Ocean Glass) and had an appointment confirmed for the FOLLOWING BUSINESS DAY after a human picked up the phone and spoke with me for exactly 5 min 41 seconds. I would not recommend this business to anyone I had my vehicle service last Monday and they managed to fuck everything up my side fenders have side damage on them. The roof has damage as well. They're only taking responsibility for the side fenders, but my problem is that they only want to use touchup paint basically a Band-Aid spoke with both managers managers kept saying it was absurd for me to want my boat fenders to be repainted. The assistant manager asked me how long have I been a tech for and then replied with he worked at Lamborghini Ferrari and etc. with nonsense I want to get my vehicle fixed, but the only problem is that they only want to do it the cheap way. My car was damaged by a flying object (likely a tree limb) in a very bad flash storm. I brought the car in to have the windshield replaced and it turned out the damage was more extensive (underneath). The glass had already been taken out, so the car was now undrivable and I had to have the auto body shop tow it. Well, after I turned the car over to the body shop, the technician called me asking where was all the wiper hardware (blades, screws, arms, etc.). I called this Safelite location to see if they had held onto them. I could not get through to an actual human and had to call their central number to get a customer service person to call the manager, who said they would call me back in an hour. Three hours later, no return call. I had to drive back to this location to actually speak to a real person and they dismissively told me they put the wiper parts in the trunk of the car. I had checked the back of my car and I found no wipers. The body shop said here were no wiper parts anywhere on the car. That left me to conclude that Safelite three my wiper hardware away (and this was a relatively new vehicle). I was furious about what they did and their lying about it. This Safelite had the nerve to keep calling me asking me to bring back the car because they had ordered the windshield and it was ready to install. And how would that have worked? We're they going to send I tow truck to get the car??! I was so done with them. The entire team needs a strong, intentional and repeated infusion of customer service skills and integrity. read more

Not only that i had my car there two times but they completely messed up all the mouldings, plastics and now everything rattles, never been called to know when to pick up the car, second time when they were supposed to fix what they did wrong found it all dusty inside and two screws with a broken plastic in the cup holder . The glass itself is good. The molding job is good, no smudges, no squeeze out lines like my old one and no water has managed to creep in so far. They also got it back to me relatively quickly, within two hours (it was cold so probably extra time to cure). My problem with them is three-fold. 1) Black prints and smudges all over the place. Dash, both A-pillars rearview mirror, all had very visible black marks. Windshield is spotless, but everything else was dirty. 2) Seat, dash and floor was covered with black bits of what I presume to be old molding/adhesive. Upon close inspection, seems like when they took off the old windshield and scraped off the old, black adhesive, they got the bits everywhere and just left it there. Very, very unprofessional. 3) Had 3M velcro on my windshield for my EZpass and dash cam, one of each side of the rearview mirror base. They were placed to be the least conspicuous, so behind the mirror. Whoever did my windshield just haphazardly stuck the velcro wherever, like 6 inches below the mirror. Well, one set of velcro below the mirror and completely ignored the other set, just gone. The adhesive work seems good, but the lack of attention to detail and leaving a mess for me to clean up afterwards (it cost me $500 already!) doesn't seem professional or acceptable under any circumstances. I'll go back to JN Philips next time. They did a great job last time with their mobile van. Couldn't even tell they were ever in my car, besides the new un-cracked windshield. read more

I took my Challenger to this location to have the windshield replaced after a rock chipped it (which then turned into a 2 foot-long crack the next day). I made a Saturday 9AM appointment and the service tech took my car in as soon as I arrived (at 8:45), they took care of my car and replaced my windshield with the OEM glass that I had requested. In addition to replacing the glass, the service tech replaced my windshield-mounted Dashcam and EZ-Pass free of charge, I was grateful for this added service. I had previous experiences where the tech (from a different location) came out to my office and did a good job replacing the windshield but I later found that they had scratched (and touched-up) my hood so I was not happy about that. This time, however, my replacement was done very well and my car was taken care of! I went through my insurer to have my windshield replaced, the quoted price (sent to insurance was over $400 but was deductible free to me), either way, it was a professional job and the OEM glass is a big deal to me. I was inclined to write this review because I almost decided to go elsewhere because of other reviews on Yelp. There is literally nothing better that this location could have done, everything was perfect. read more

Meant to include that they also left dust/pollen on my dashboard that was not there before, as well as a piece of glass on the passengers side floor, meaning he did not clean up when he was done. They came on 6/15 to replace the one they cracked. I thought it was all set, but I noticed last week that it's whistling a little when i'm driving. Then it rained 2 days ago for the first time and it is apparently leaking because it dripped on my foot. It rained again today and there is water on the pedal again (see pic). I called to see if I could bring it in today to be replaced AGAIN and after 45 mins of mostly being on hold I hung up. We have a moving truck that we use on our Home Staging business every weekend. Very important to us. The front windshield developed quite a large crack that made the teuck unsafe to operate. We contacted Safelite and one of their techs out of the Norwood store made the repair the next day at our warehouse. I wasn't even on location. The job was done fast and properly and even though I left the truck unlocked so they could make the repair, the tech locked it up after his repair. Received MANY appointment reminder notices only to receive a text (an hour into our 8-12 window) that our appointment was cancelled. No explanation. Come to find out they did not have the part. Rescheduled for 6 days later. We called the night before to confirm that they part was in. They said yes. Came the next day with the wrong window. Rescheduled again for 3 days later. Received multiple reminder emails and texts that the technician would be coming between 8-12. At 9:30 the day of our appointment received a call needing the VIN number so they could order the part. What? I asked if that meant they were still keeping the appointment and was told "No, you will have to reschedule". Three strikes and you are out! We spent hours waiting on them and they could never get it right. Lack of coordination at the office or something. Another reviewer sad dealing with them was as slow and painful as listening to a 2 year old count to 20. Absolutely true. Take your business elsewhere. read more

There needs to be a 0 stars option. My many month struggle with Safelite is the most frustrating company interaction I have ever had. My windshield was damaged in March with a rock hitting the windshield and a full length crack appearing. I scheduled an appointment and everything was all good. They then called me the day of the appointment to tell me the technician did not show up for work that day and I would have to reschedule which was two weeks later. This very same interaction happened a total of 5 times over the course of the next weeks/months. I eventually got fed up so I scheduled a drop and go appointment for the first available time I could find because driving with my windshield was dangerous and it needed to happen. I drive one hour in traffic to the facility that had the earliest appointment available at 8:00am, and upon arrival they say my appointment does not exist. I have emails that prove this wrong and they merely tell me that their system is not always the best and that they will not help me and that I needed to leave. They actually said these things to me, that I simply just needed to leave and they wouldn't help. I got Safelite costumer service on the phone, at which point they said that my appointment was in their system and that they would like to speak to the location manager. They then had a screaming match using my phone where they went back and forth telling the other one that my appointment was there and the other saying it wasn't. We got no where. This just tells me that Safelites systems don't talk to each other which is another problem all on its own. Anyways the whole experience just ended with me driving home in traffic to then write this review. Safelite, I dare you to respond to this with some shoddy response like "Sorry to hear about this, please contact customer service to talk more about your complaint" because I did call and they did nothing but say I couldn't be helped. read more

Working with them to replace my broken rear window was like listening to a two year count to 20. Painfully slow, missing information and just flat out wrong most of the time. First they told us to come in immediately, which we happily did. When we arrive we heard, "Oh no, we don't have that window. Come back Monday morning." We came back on Monday, "I don't know what to tell you. I am so sorry, we don't have it yet." Finally we came back after they confirmed they had the part two days later. "That'll be $800." "What? Safelite came and fixed my windshield in my office parking lot, while I was able to sit inside my office. The guy came and was friendly. He knew exactly what he was doing and took off all of my permit/inspection stickers and put them back on when he was done. He called me when he was finished and I came out to see him off. Why I say this my Lexus my baby needed windshield replaced but they is molding around the windshield. The molding around the windshield looks HORRIBLE. It sticks out everywhere. Pretty looks like a 16 year old tried self install fast and the furious garbage. My car looks like Poop. Yes they could have done a better job on a standard domestic car which literally has just windshield.
