Subaru owners beware. This safelite will use cheap aftermarket glass that your vehicle's safety system cannot be properly calibrated through. Despite knowing this is an issue and causing problems for who knows how many Subaru owners over the years, they continue with this unprofessional and unsafe practice. They'll also drive your car all over the city to their other location near 12th St. MULTIPLE times to try calibrating it at that location, all without getting your consent or even informing you. I only know they did it because rather than informing me that they hadn't finished with my vehicle in the time they told me when I dropped it off, they waited for me to be dropped off at the time they told me it would be ready and I saw they were just driving it back from the other location for the 3rd time, all without the safety system calibrated. They also didn't offer to compensate me for my gas they used while being unprofessional and unsafe with my vehicle. After waiting over an hour in their cramped little lobby, when it was near closing and my vehicle still was not finished because the system could not be calibrated properly due to aforementioned use of inappropriate materials, they said I could come back tomorrow without even discussing with me that I live an hour away and had no ride home because I thought my car would be in proper order for me to get there myself. I had to take it to the Subaru dealership in Riverdale for the service department there to tell me that this Safelite used inappropriate materials which is precisely why, by the staff of the safelite's own admission to me when I asked why my vehicle wasn't ready at the specified time and they hadn't called to tell me, they "frequently have this problem with these make and models of vehicle." So they'll admit it's an issue but they won't be honest with you that it's an issue created by their corrupt business practices, nor take accountability for their lack of professionalism and consideration for customers. If you want your Subaru taken care of appropriately, to be treated with any amount of respect or decency, and to be able to trust your vehicle will be safely repaired to standard, I'd tell you to go anywhere but here. If you do choose safelite at any location, ensure they're professional enough to communicate with you and that they understand that the right thing to do is to use the materials specified and intended by the manufacturer of your vehicle rather than corruptly making a practice of using poorer quality materials not rated for your vehicle and pocketing the difference between what you and your insurance pay them for the appropriate and intended quality of materials. Hopefully then you won't have your time, money, and gas wasted, added insult to the injury of already not repairing your vehicle to standard which you and your insurance are literally paying them to do. The next morning I noticed my windshield looked blurry then looked closer I have a Ripple in my windshield and it's very distracting. He has USAA as his insurance; so he gives them a call, was told they only work with safelight so we head to the nearest safe light which suggests they are open until 5. We arrived about 4:45pm. Nobody's home. We primarily just wanted to get an expert opinion. No go. We contacted USAA, spoke to someone else who said we don't have to go through Safelight. I will never go back to this company. I have had windshields done on my semi's a few times with them. The most recent was 2 weeks ago. Let me start off by saying this company lost me money. On the first day they were supposed to be here between 12 and 5, well about 5 I got a call saying the tech went home sick. So I lost work because my truck sat for no reason. The next day it was set for the same time frame. They showed up at almost 5 got both the windows done after dark. My husband and driver noticed what they thought was a nick in the window but the techs were already gone. My truck has taken 2 loads since then on the second load the window cracked from where the nick was not to mention they didn't even hook one of the wipers back up. I called for a warranty well you guessed it, somehow they are calling that nick that we seen that night a rock chip. They said they will replace it but it was going to cost me over $200. I just spent $650 about 2 weeks for the windshields. This company is a rip off. read more

We have a semi truck. We had our windshield replaced and within a few days, a small crack appeared from the bottom. We were in another state but immediately notified Safelite Glass. The crack continued up to the top of windshield. A few weeks later, we were back in town and took the truck in to be examined by store. They claim there was a small rock chip that caused the crack. It is clear that it was poorly installed with small area on the bottom where water got in, froze and cracked it. Buyer Beware! Shoddy product, installation and poor customer service. read more
