I took two days off work trying to have them replace my windshield and they cancelled on me both days.

safelite does NOT stand behind damage they cause. After several visits to my home (by them) and to the shop (by me) to inspect the damage, even after they openly admitted their installation caused a water leak inside my car, they refused to accept responsibility for damage the leak caused. Their pompous regional rep comes in as the "heavy" and flat out refuses to be accountable. The good news is my insurance carrier, who referred me to Safelite, will handle my claim and I will urge them to never recommend them again. Terrible service and shoddy workmanship. This location will NOT admit to damaging your vehicle, will give you the runaround, and outright state that there is nothing you can do about it. My vehicle's touch screen was damaged while replacing the windshield, and this location refuses to accept responsibility for it. The office manager refused to accept the idea that they could have possibly been at fault, and refused to admit that any of the staff had ever even been inside my vehicle to begin with. I have spoken with a few Safelite representatives since this happened, to include after my first Yelp review, and have been promised that someone from Safelite would investigate this further and reach out to me, but there has been no follow up. This organization refuses to be accountable for the damage, refuses to follow up in order to repair my vehicle, and is once again just hoping that I will go away. Left me hanging for weeks while still leaving me automated messages confirming their appointments for the following day. My car would have been fixed a month sooner if I'd just gone with another provider in the first place. Turns out their "discount" wasn't less than others charged (erm, Caliber). Okay, fine, it was $1.08 more expensive but they were out in 24 hours, not weeks of scheduling and cancelling appointments. DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE! Replaced a window in our minivan and woke to find a pool of water in our trunk. Safelite took the van again and replaced the window again, only to have the same exact problem with the window leaking. Filed a complaint and took the van to the dealership to have window installed properly and Safelite is refusing to pay for their mistake. There's water damage in the trunk and the manager says it's not her problem. The corporate offices pass you around to multiple people, and are zero help. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB. read more

I've had nothing but an awesome experience with this particular Safelite location. I dealt with Chataki, Karlton & Gerald. This was my first experience with an auto glass replacement company. I couldn't be more pleased. They were so accommodating and helpful. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. The only negative experience was the location. It was way and small a tire business, and I passed the location 3 times before I found it. I actually thought of giving up and leaving the area. My appointment was 2pm but they took my car to the garage at 3:30pm and completed around 5:30pm. The new windshield was not professionally cleaned and still smudge all over the windshield. I don't recommend this place at all. read more

My trunk window was broken Called safelite to repair the window. They installed the window wrong. The glass is installed at an angle so that the components on the passenger side do not align flush. There is an inch gap between my glass and rear light. I hear my car crunching as I drive because the components are squeezing against each other. Cherry on the cake is they installed the wiper upside down. I am "rolling now" but by the skin of my teeth and I'm shocked lol. They had 2 jobs. Install new glass and reinstall wiper didn't do either. read more

The Safelight Facility I used in Springfield, PA was excellent! Even though my 2020 Subaru Outback has a complicated windshield calibration system, the Safelight folks were on top of everything. They expected it to take almost 3 to 4 hours -- and I was delighted when I was out of the shop in 2.5 hours. Waiting room was comfortable and had Wifi and a desktop area for teleworkers. First of all they woman up front is incredibly rude and doesn't know how to talk to people and expected me to know that I should arrive 30 minutes earlier than my scheduled appointment time. They had me come twice, and neither time could they replace my windshield. Don't waste your time with this location, because they won't hesitate to waste YOUR time. Had my windshield repaired here in March. Have not had to use the defrost until this past week but it is clearly not working. can't get anybody on the phone. No return call. I will have to resort to driving over there but assume nobody will help if I just show up. Can't make a 'warranty appointment' as they direct me to do online but there is no such thing. This store is not honest. I brought my 2018 Honda Pilot to this store to get my glass replaced. It was easy to get an appointment and have the initial service. I picked the car up and none of my technology worked. I called the store and the receptionist said are you sure the tech is on. I said yes. She made a warranty appointment. H husband waited for the car. Technology still did not work. I asked what this store did differently than another store. After looking at my old order she said that they put after market glass on my car, even though specs state my car needs original OEM. She even stated that my insurance wouldn't pay for it. I called the insurance and asked about OEM glass and the insurance company said they would pay. So, made an appointment, had to cancel and rebook. Didn't you know, right before my new appointment they didn't have the glass. I said what happened to the glass for my appointment last weeks. She said it was damaged. They had 14 days to get new glass- I think they used it on another car. I summary- This place is a not honest- go somewhere else! read more

Chack from Safelite came to my Home today, and replaced my Infiniti G37x's Front Windshield. He was GREAT! Knew exactly what he was doing, the job was seamless, and he came right when he was scheduled to. USAA Insurance uses them as their preferred Auto Glass Repair, and for good reason. I have OEM endorsement on my policy. but when I called them they denied that I have OEM on my policy. I asked them to double check with my insurance before you send the guy, they did not rather sent the tech to repair my car. on the day of repair I showed the guy my insurance and spoke to a lady on the phone...she was so rude she dint listen to me rather asked the tech to take her off the speaker phone... I was dreading getting service as the last few service companies i've hired for other projects have been less than stellar. However, I was pleasantly surprised with how awesome Samil at Safelite was. Booking the appointment online was easy, and since I signed up for text alerts, the service would regularly remind me when he was due to arrive, if he was was running late, etc. Not only that, but the technician also called to let us know a confirmed time, and when he was running late he let us know. When he checked that he was on his way, the Safelite service sent me a link to check where the driver was and it tracked him via GPS so when he pulled up out front we met him as he pulled up. I used to work in transportation and know that replacing windshields in the rain is usually no good, but Samil still worked to ensure we got our windshield in. Our garage is not the best to fit a car, but he helped us move a few things in our garage so we could at least get the front of the car in and out of the rain so we got a better seal on the windshield. When he took off the old windshield, he made sure to point out the old one wasn't installed correctly (they didnt do it), and it had caused water seepage onto the frame and spreading rust. He did what he could to help us by sanding down the rust and priming it so the windshield had something to stick to. He told my wife he wasn't leaving until it was done correctly, and he didn't. He made sure we were satisfied with our service before he left. I'd use Safelite again without a second thought. Fantastic response, service, and product. read more

i don't usually leave reviews at all but I feel like I got scammed. I Had a tiny crack in my windshield like it's no way it wasn't able to be fixed. The guy that came to my house to fix had me sign a paper stating that it might not work blah blah blah. I signed it thinking it's no way you can't fix this. Not even 10 minutes later he calls me back outside and shows me that it's been cracked even more so NOW I have to get a whole new window. How the heck couldn't you fix that tiny ass crack but he tells me he's one of the best and does about 15 repairs a day. I just watched a couple people do it on YouTube but you can't. I would have had to pay 750.00, I wouldn't refer anybody to Safelite that's terrible. He even said himself it's very rare this happens but today it did right, cmon now. Safelite is a scam for get you to buy a whole new window. You're better off going else where. The place I found quoted me 400$ and they're coming out to me. It's just hard to believe you couldn't fix that tiny crack. He must of seen my car and thought he has money, no I'm not paying that clown. read more

I got ripped off. They replaced my glass and everything was fine but then they made me pay out of pocket instead of my deductible that my insurance company had assured me I would pay only. So I gave this company literally my savings and they still haven't reimbursed me almost 3 weeks later. In all that time I have not been able to reach anyone in their billing department and neither has the owner of my insurance company been able to track down my reimbursement. This is ridiculous. It's not like I can go to the cops and tell them a corporation stole my money and hasn't returned it. They won't care. That's literally not why they exist. Where my money at?????? Unfortunately, the windshield on one of our cars had a long crack after being hit by a rock on I-476. I called the dealership to find out how much it would cost to repair and they gave me a price close to $600, which sounded ridiculous. I then went on Safelite's website and received a quote that was much less. I set up an appointment and thought about taking the car to the Springfield location, but realized it was much more convenient to have them come to me. It is $25 more and they provide you with a 4-hour window. I chose the 8:00am - 12:00pm time slot. Andy, the installer, arrived around 9:00am. Before he arrived, I received a text letting me know when to expect him. He was very professional and did the job in less than an hour. While I'm not reviewing the actual physical location, the service provided was from this location and I would definitely recommend them if you need your windshield or another other glass surface replaced. read more

Filled out the online quote for repair or replace for one 5.5 inch crack. It came back could be repaired and would cost $150. It required prepayment and I scheduled for the next day. I get there and they say our new machine can't fix cracks larger than 3 inches and want $450 to replace it. They knew when I was charged they couldn't fix it. That's bait and switch and ILLEGAL. The windshield on my 2013 VW Jetta cracked after being hit by a rock in one of the I-95 construction zones and, after shopping around a bit, I settled on Safelite in Springfield, PA. I scheduled my appointment online and was able to talk to a representative about choosing the appropriate windshield from the four options available for my car. I received a reminder call and email the day before my appointment, which was two days after I scheduled the service. The folks at Safelite were ready for me when I arrived, talked me through the replacement and pointed out a few existing scratches on the car to make sure that I was aware of them before they started the installation. I was told that it would take less than 90 minutes and they were done after about 60. The price I received online was the price I paid and I was out the door. Everything looks good and the drive home was uneventful. Compared to the prices I was quoted by various VW dealerships in the area, Safelite was about 75% of the cost. The new windshield looks great, fits well, is quiet and is otherwise indistinguishable from the original OEM glass. Assuming that I don't run into any issues in the coming weeks and months, I would definitely recommend Safelite, and the Springfield location in particular, to anyone looking to have their windshield replaced. read more

I had a good experience with Safelite. The tech was efficient and fast installing the replacement windshield. My only gripe was that the tech was supposed to be at my home between hours of 8am - 12noon. He never came so I called after 12 only to be told that the replacement was never delivered to the shop that morning. He stated that he was able to find a replacement from another store but wouldn't be able to get to my home till 2pm. Once he was there he replaced quickly. While they were able to repair my passenger side window, the door panel was not put back correctly, and as a result the lock and inner handle core is now out of place. I travel for work so I have not been able to get back there to have them fix it, but this has been the biggest inconvenience ever. I scheduled an appointment to have Safelite in Springfield, PA send their mobile service to replace my windshield. The appointment was scheduled for a Tuesday morning, from 8-12. They were supposed to do the repair at my home, so I had to have my wife drop me off at work. I called them to give my wife's number in case she didn't answer the door. They eventually called her asking for the vin to make sure that they had the correct windshield, although they didn't mention that when I called to give my wife's cel number. So I verified that they had the correct vin and rescheduled for Thursday of that week, but I asked that they instead come to my work. I hoped to get the windshield repaired during my lunch. I received a call from my tech, Isaac and he said he was on the way. So I started lunch. 20 minutes later he informed me that he was near my home. I told him that he was supposed to come to my job. By the time he arrived, my lunch was almost over. I left the keys and asked for him to call when done. He said it would take 30 minutes. 45 minutes later I walked to the car and the windshield was out and there was a grill like piece sitting on my car hood. I asked how much longer and he said that he would call once competed. I received a call another 40 minutes later and he said that he was done. I came to get the keys and he asked me to look over the car to make sure all was ok. He said numerous times, is it ok, is it ok? I was rushing to get back to work so I looked quickly and he said not to look around the entire car since he was only at the front and inside near the front. After work as I approached the car, I saw scratches along the door, along the car that frames the windshield and on the hood. I also saw fingerprints, dirt and smudges along the inside of the windshield frame on the upolstery. But the worst part was the tech, Isaac scratched the display screen on my 2018 Infiniti QX60. I just bought the car the week before and the dealer paid the cost to replace the windshield since the car had a chip in the windshield that was already repaired but still getting bigger. I called the Springfield location and told the guy who answered about the damages. He told me to stop by so that he could see. I stopped by that Saturday and in less than a minute, the guy dismissed every one of the damages, and he kept saying that he only works in the front of the car so he could not have done the damages that I pointed out. I reminded him that I am not accusing him and that Isaac did the work and the damages were not present before the repair. He said that there was no way that they were responsible. If that was going to be his conclusion, why ask me to stop in ...especially when I described the damages over the phone? Just more of my time wasted. If you use Safelite, make sure to take pictures before and after and be prepared to be told that they did not damage your vehicle. And no matter what you do, avoid the Springfield, PA location! read more

On tv they made it seem like the crack would go away fully all the guy did was dig it up and fill it up with something to stop the crack from spread . It's did not look any different from how it was kind made it worst when he took something to scrap it out. Not impressed it was a big let down!!!! read more

They were great to work with. Scheduled appointment to be done at our home, last Saturday 6/9/18 between 8am and noon. Tech arrived before noon, did beautiful job and was excellent. A rock hit the windshield on the Blue Route (I476) that Wednesday, I called Allstate Ins to report, was given Safelite phone number. Customer Service was very helpful and gave options of places to take our vehicle or have it done at our home.
