My auto glass is covered by my insurance. They kept telling me they don't see it was approved in their system. The person kept saying they need to charge my credit card first and ask me to get reimbursement from my insurance later. I called Safelite and they told me they saw my insurance approved, but no one pressed the button to accept it. They could of just called their own company and verify. He tells me this happens all the time, where customers gets reimbursed later by the insurance. But this dude just want to take my money first and not make any effort of calling. I went through a lot of hoops to get this appointment, and then when I showed up, they were too pusillanimous to attempt a windshield replacement because of a leak, even though I had worked through this issue with another technician and the associated body shop in the same building. Got my windshield replaced, the technician didn't install it correctly. It never sealed properly caused extensive water damage to the main wiring harness and connectors all types of crazy electrical issues to my truck that is still being paid off, replaced both batteries (750$) before finding out the real problem was water getting in from the bad windshield replacement spent 3 months without my car and the customer service was SUCH A HEADACHE to deal with. The asst. manager is very nice, but boy are these folks a mess! I made an appt. and was told ON ARRIVAL that my glass had not come in. They said they would call when the glass arrived. 40 minutes wasted, but OK, it happens. I then get a call saying my glass is in. I make an appt, drop off the car, and guess what? I get another call saying there's NO GLASS! They have no idea where it is! They tell me it's at Safelight and should be there in a day so I left the car (this facility is 20 minutes from my house). Two weeks later--still no glass! Then they tell me they had the glass but it went to a different facility and is MIA. At that point, I pick up the car and get a call about a month later saying they have my glass. It finally gets installed after nearly 3 months of ping pong. Awful. Filed a claim for glass replacement - came into the store location and was told that the incorrect windshield was purchased. Was told that it could be done at my house and they would call me when the windshield arrived. Heard nothing for a week. Called to check in on status and kept getting re-routed to the centralized customer service department. Finally got in touch with the location itself - windshield was waiting there (no one called). Still confusion about whether it could be done in my driveway (despite the fact that I had it done a year prior, with the same vehicle, in my driveway). Finally scheduled to have it done at my house. Get a call from the tech the day of that the part is scratched/damaged. Liberty Mutual funnels you into Safelite and it was just a comedy of incompetence. read more

I once had an issue with a tech cutting the heating wire on a mobile install in another state, so when going to pick up my wife's car I decided to ask if they had installed properly. Well turns out my wife's car didn't have a heated windshield. The workers in the shop were professional, polite and even went as far as to show me the old windshield to give me piece of mind. I appreciate the free education! Hopefully I won't have to go back soon but I know where I am going if I do have a problem. read more

Bad. They reinstalled one of the cameras on the windshield incorrectly. It cost me $300 and two trips back-and-forth to the dealership to get it fixed. When I talked to Volvo, their first words upon hearing I'd had the windshield replaced were "it wasn't Safelite, was it?" I tried to get Safelite to reimburse me under their warranty, but they insisted that "Volvo doesn't understand windshields" and said I should have called them instead of the dealership when my car started throwing random codes. Had an appt. Pulled into the bay and a worker rudely motioned for me to get out. First time there didn't know where to park the car. Then went in for my appt which says should take 2-3 hours. I asked for a waiting area, the same employee with the same rude attitude told me It was going to take 3+ hours but not nice at all. Edited to add: The response to this review is simply another mark of their poor customer service. A promise to take immediate action to expedite the procurement of the missing part would be a more appropriate - and expected - response. Approximately two months ago, I brought my car in for a windshield replacement. They did a thorough job, the car was actually ready before the promised time, and there have been no issues with the windshield itself. But..... A few days later my husband noticed a piece around the window frame was missing, and patched it with duct tape to ensure that no rain would get into the car. I went to Safelite where I spoke with a technician who agreed that the part had not been put back when the windshield was replaced, and promised that he would speak with his manager about ordering a replacement part. Admittedly this has not been top of mind for me, so it was several weeks before I returned to Safelite to ask about the status of the replacement, only to find out that a part had never been ordered. No apology or explanation was given, and while I was standing there I was told that an order for a replacement part was being entered into the system, and that it would probably be a week or so. That was 2+ weeks ago. I went back today and was told that the part was still on order, and should be in (hopefully) within another week or so. My car is not a high end exotic car, and I find it puzzling that it is taking weeks for Safelite to procure what is likely a $15 part. I thought about giving this review a 1 star rating, but in all fairness, I was happy with the work that was done to replace my windshield. However, from a customer service perspective, I'd give it no stars if I could. read more

They advertise all over the TV and radio about how they will come out and fix you windshield. This is Bs unless you own an outdated car with no electronics. False advertising. Anyone owning a car with a camera has to bring it in to recalibrate. If they "fail" to recalibrate you have to wait another week to get another windshield and another appointment.....and the insurance company still pays them...total bullshit. If you can't do it right you get it done that day or come out and pick the car up fix it and drop it back off. Had windshield replaced. Tech scheduled to do it at my home-didn't show. Got a call after the appointment window asking me to bring car into the shop. Replaced glass, cut the wire harness on my safety system. Been waiting for them to fix it for 6 weeks. They don't answer the phone. Every time I drive over there, they tell me the replacement part is on order. They also replaced my wiper blades. They did not work properly. DO NOT USE THEM!!! Update: Safelite's robotic response is one more symptom of their poor service. How about offering to have a customer service rep follow up with me directly to resolve this issue? I woke up early (for me) and stayed up for the 5 hour window (12p-5p). If they were going to show up they could have at least informed me. Got a passenger window replaced on a Toyota Corolla 2015. Picked up the car, tried the new window up and down and drove away. Few days later, I happen to notice a noise from my door, and realize that the broken glass from the 1st window must still sits at the bottom of the door, because it sounds like a coffee can filled with seashell. Called in and am told they can't get all the little piece out. But that ain't a few little pieces. It sounds like they didn't bother to remove anything at all. But they work fast though... Setting up appointment is easy. Its affiliation with auto insurance company means little to no paper work. In other words, it's super convenient. However, quality and reliability are definitely suspect here. The rain sensor bracket on the after market windshield came loose only after 4 months. Technician attempted to glue the bracket back on twice, but it came loose as soon as the sensor was put back on. The technician did not remove the entire metal bracket from the glass, and when the bracket was pulled to allow glue to be injected, the bracket became deformed and no longer sat flush with the glass. The glue/epoxy that was applied simply was not strong enough to hold the deformed bracket in position. So I tried my luck with another Safelite location in Arlington, and it became an even bigger nightmare -- I will put another review for that location. Bottom line: go with a local. trusted auto glass shop if you can find one, and avoid this franchise. Its apparent convenience could come back and bite you. read more

l took my 7yr old Subaru car in for a windshield replacement, was told it would take 2.5hrs. went back 3.5 hrs later, still not ready, they had installed the wrong windshield and couldn't calibrate it.... l guess they don't get many Subaru replacements, hence wrong install. I've used Safelite on three different occasions and experienced nothing but perfect service. The first time was actually two summers ago, when someone broke into my car by smashing the front passenger side window. I called my insurance company, who schedule services through Safelite. I remember they showed up within a couple of hours, replaced the window and even vacuumed up every shard of glass in my car, making it look like nothing ever happened. The 2nd time was about two weeks ago, when I called them for my mom's car. Her windshield was cracked quite badly after a snowstorm and needed to be replaced. Safelite showed up right on time and did the work quickly and efficiently. The last time was actually yesterday and this time to replace my windshield after a pebble hit the glass as I was driving, which instantly cracked the whole window. The technician actually showed up early and finished the work in maybe 30 min. I was worried that all the parking stickers on my front windshield would be gone, but when I went to lock my car I was surprised to see that they were all there :). Started off perfect: very easy appt through geico, dude texted first thing in the morning with an arrival estimate and showed up right on time. Finished quick. When done he apologized and said when the mirror was removed from the cracked windshield it fell and cracked. He also said he talked to his manager who already ordered a replacement and they'd be back "in a day or two." Stuff happens and I liked the technician so I was 100% fine, accidents happen. I didn't even inspect it (small mistake) and just said thanks. However, when I left for work that night I noticed the mirror was more than cracked. It was crushed in, like someone wearing high heels stepped on it. At night, the mirror scatters headlights everywhere, forcing me to point it completely down or be blinded. Again, not a huge issue if they followed through. Since, I have heard NOTHING. I emailed asking for an update, no reply. I gave feedback on the service, marking me disatisfied and they gave an auto "may we contact you about this issue?" message which I responded yes. Again, I have heard nothing. It's now been a full week. This strikes me as quite unprofessional and I don't see myself using safelite again. read more

I used this service about six years ago this past December. I noticed a conical break with a pinhole opening slightly to the left of the middle of the windshield the day before I planned to drive & take the Autotrain to Florida. I made several calls to nearby windshield repair shops. This company was the only one available that day. I got an app't, took a book to read, and watched the repair job occasionally. The job took longer because the outside temp was slightly below freezing. The technician did a good job! I could not easily see where he fixed the glass. The store took care of the insurance paperwork. I left and never returned! Great job!!! read more

I've used Safelite AutoGlass in the past and been happy with their service, but this was not the case when I recently had my rear sliding window in my 2015 Toyota Tacoma replaced. I did not expect any damage to the inside of my truck during this process. I was not warned that interior damage would be a likely outcome. The headliner of my truck cab was cut away from the back window and just left. They used a sawzall (or something with a similar flat rough cut) to cut my headliner away from the window about a 1/4" for about 3/4 of the way across the whole back of the truck and also down the right side where there is plastic. It seems as if the headliner wasn't first loosened by removing the hanger clips. Rookie mistake. I spoke with the manager and he insisted that it was normal to have this much damage on a rear slider window replacement. I felt he was talking down to me and mansplaining the basics about how tools work. I do understand the logistics of how a rear sliding window is difficult to replace, and I am a carpenter with intimate knowledge of these specific tools. Maybe he treats all his customers this poorly, but I did have to wonder if he thought he could gaslight me into believing further damage is ever normal with repairs because I'm a woman. The first person I spoke with at the Brighton location took pictures, seemed to understand what I was saying & told me that a common solution was to get a quote from a body shop for repairs & then Safelite would pay for it or reimburse me. So when I was able to show the manager of the Newton Safelite, where my work was done, I was expecting a similar answer. But instead after quite an unpleasant conversation, the solution for this issue of damage, appears to be that the manager will call a junk yard to try to find me a headliner. Had my windshield replaced in Nov 22. Ended up with water leaking into the passenger side after heavy rain. My insurance company recommended I bring my car back to make sure it wasn't a breakdown of the windshield adhesive. It wasn't; HOWEVER, a technician left a clear adhesive on the driver's side windshield and black urethane adhesive on the hood of my car. Yes, they did open the hood. A technician called because he couldn't figure out how to open the hood! First pull on the lever near the driver's side door didn't open it. More than likely someone tried to find another lever under the hood to release it. I had to instruct him that the lever inside the driver's side required a second strong pull. I was able to remove the goo from the windshield with acetone. As we all know, acetone is a nail polish remover and will likely remove the paint on the hood of the car! Can't get the black adhesive off the hood. Management denied it happened there and would not help. read more

Hands down one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. Scheduled my appointment mid December 2021, they gave me the run around on scheduling, when parts would be coming in, miscommunication at every twist and turn, zero follow up from anyone after being promised call backs. Beyond unprofessional. Had to cancel my request because when they FINALLY rescheduled my appointment after getting in the needed part, ended up being the wrong part. From a customer's point of view, the fact that I just wasted nearly two months for Safelite to do their job, only to have them very clearly demonstrate that they are not equipped to follow through on a straight forward windshield replacement. Just complete and utter incompetence from start to finish for a simple windshield replacement. As run of the mill as it gets. I would be embarrassed if I were Safelite. Will never use them again. UPDATE: I just got off the phone with my insurance company, and it turns out Safelite attempted to submit a claim despite not actually performing any service. This is... by definition... insurance fraud. Absolutely stunned at the level of incompetence and lack of professionalism. UPDATE 2: Had another call with my insurance company. Apparently Safelite completely lied to me about what parts they were attempting to use. Claimed that they were attempting to get the exact OEM replacement for my windshield molding when in fact they attempted to get something from a random supplier that would "work", but not the one actually meant for my car. And in addition, SF said the claim they filed (despite not actually doing ANY service) was for a special order windshield. This is also a flat out lie. The only part that needed special ordering was the molding, Long story short to all of the above. Unless you're OK with being blatantly lied to, having abysmal communication, and being given a total work around for nearly 2 months... stay way. Now I am here 2 weeks later and a 3 hour job has taken 5+ hours.
