**NOT TUNER CAR FRIENDLY / NOT FEMALE FRIENDLY**…read more I know 2 guys that went here for inspection with their modified Subarus and not once did they question their suspension and they question mine with similar aftermarket parts (one coilovers and one lowering springs) AND REQUIRES ME TO GO TO FACTORY SUSPENSION OR EQUIVALENT-$1535 (they refused for me to even consider raising it up for them as I have coilovers). I need a light bulb change, their estimate was to do a whole license plate light assembly FOR 1 light bulb - $77.50. I replaced BOTH BULBS for $12 removing only 4 SCREWS. PAINT on the light bulb cover? A new OEM is exactly how it looks. Tried to charge me on axle boot and axle separately and me knowing ITS ALL IN 1 PART - $156 + $287. MUFFLER missing? I can literally see it and so does my friends with confused faces when I went out to a car meet few days later - $417. With an inspection fee of $139.99. (No "fail forgiveness" discount but $35 the second visit). **UPDATE** Today, a week later, they called me and left a voicemail asking to talk about my Subaru more. THEY REMOVED MY REVIEW ON GOOGLE WITH SIMILAR VERBATIM. They sent me an email REMOVING the suspension estimate but everything else is still the same. I completely understand the ball and joint, axle and CV boot replacement as I have replaced a few of those in my lifetime and it's common, but I don't trust them touching my car after all this. I'm no idiot and I've been in the car/tuner scene and have worked on multiple cars for a while with enough knowledge that they are over charging me for the simplest things. My car community is aware of this business. Just because it's been "estimated updated" DOES NOT MEAN I WILL GO BACK. If they were honest from the beginning and not quick to judge that I am a female or just someone that looks like "they don't know about their cars" does not have the right to be dishonest about their inspection. I would have gave them more business if things were done right. You guys can't even charge me on my loose battery. It's not like a 10ml is not existent in your shop to tighten it for 1 minute when it took over an hour for you to inspect. The initial dropoff was a bit confusing as there is limited parking space however we found an unmarked area in the middle of the street for dropoffs. Once we got inside the shop, the rest was easy. The shop had a lowkey vibe and theres a separate waiting room. We were surprised when we received an email confirmation that they were done as we had just sat down for lunch nearby. Eric is the mechanic, and he not only knows which way is up on your car (not always a guarantee, trust me), he will explain why it is up and not down and how it might be even more up, in plain English, in a completely understandable way. Not a common skill, believe me. He clearly is all about cars, is a total car person, and I'll be having him do everything I can't do myself from now on. Kristyn is up front and took care of things lickety split. Smiles, laughter, and good vibes great you when you walk in, which also is a pretty rare thing in the scowl-heavy world of mechanics. She's a gem. One last note: the garage is incredibly clean. I have spent a lot of time about cars and mechanics generally and I have seen some stuff in my time, and Eric's garage is by far the cleanest I've ever encountered. No black smudges on the floor, all tools in their rightful place, everything seems color coded or to be in a purposeful place... I was impressed. They gave me a repair estimate of $17,335.18 on October 15, which seemed reasonable, and I assumed work was being done. For over two months, I waited with no updates. Suddenly, on December 5, they emailed demanding the loaner back immediately and threatened a police report for "failure to return a rental vehicle." I called their rep (Alfonso), who said he would extend the loaner--he never followed up. That evening, the loaner was remotely disabled (Valet Mode) while I was driving, stranding me overnight in 20°F snowy/rainy weather on a busy DC street. I had to pay for towing myself to avoid freezing. The next morning (December 6), they called police (Rockville and Prince George's County), claiming I failed to return the rental. They also told officers my Florida license was "fake" or fraudulent. Police cleared me immediately. I repeatedly explained my disabilities (immune-compromised, OCD, ADHD, anxiety) and asked for accommodations to get my medication and belongings from the loaner (less than ¼ mile away at a friend's house). They refused and left me stranded without transportation or meds ever since. Now they demand over $14,000 in storage/rental fees--almost as much as the repair estimate--yet no work was ever done on my car. I have video, emails, bills, and records. This was unsafe, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Avoid if you value safety and clear communication.
