I'm going to start off by saying how incredibly nice everyone who works here is. I took three driving classes with two different instructors before my actual driving exam and I was not disappointed. The woman who set up my appointments over the phone made sure the dates/times were to my liking even though I had set them up very last minute. She was so nice and showed no signs of annoyance towards me even though it was probably a hassle for her to do. I appreciated that! I forgot the name of my first driving instructor but she was the most helpful, cheerful, and patient woman I have ever encountered. She was so calm and collected throughout the drive that I felt as if I were driving with an old friend. She was helpful in correcting any mistakes I made and overall the experience helped me a lot. James Hatfield was my second driving instructor for my remaining two classes and I encourage anyone thinking about taking classes here to take them with him. He was extremely patient with me and thanks to his advice/guidance I successfully passed my driving test the next morning. I had doubts about showing up to my driving exam because I felt as if I needed more practice but he went over everything I was insecure about. His instructions on what to do were super clear and he was just understanding in general. He genuinely believed I would pass my exam which convinced me that I had a chance at passing it. I am very new to this country, and no driving experience at all but I am grateful that I have booked my driving lessons to this school, Safeway Driving School. Words cannot convey how thankful I am to my driving instructor Moe for without him I think I will not pass my back of the wheels exam today at my first attempt. He is very patient, very encouraging and very supportive. He taught me the right techniques in driving in a way a beginner like me can truly understand. I think I really gave him a hard time teaching me because my driving skills are really bad but he fixed it in just few lessons and now l am a confident and safe new driver. I was 24 with no license and very little behind the wheel experience, so my sister gave me the # to safeway driving school. immediately scheduling an appointment with a sweet lady name Becky. my first 2 sessions were with John , he was so calm and cool u couldn't help but not be nervous with him he taught me tricks for driving, what to look for and how to avoid a situations from a distance, John was awesome and ASH came and picked me up for my dmv appointment and took me driving to warm up before and then let me use the safeway car do the test. the best decision I made is giving it a chance. I passed my driving test easily at Thousand Oak DMV. Gabby was my driving instructor and I strongly appreciate her way of training as I was a complete beginner and I learnt driving within 5 days with her proper help and easily got a driving license. Love this company! Marilyn was super kind and helpful when booking the appointment dates, and instructor Moe was very supportive, friendly, and really boosted my confidence with driving. I passed my driving test today on the first try at the Thousand Oaks DMV, and couldn't have done it without them! Yes, driving lessons are a bit pricey, BUT, having professionals instructors will help you pass the test because they teach you the laws of the road, whereas parents teach the: "Well technically you can do this..." rules haha. read more

We have had an excellent experience with Safeway Driving School so far! Ash called promptly to schedule my daughters first lesson. He accommodated my request for a female driver without hesitation. I highly recommend Safeway Driving School. I can only speak for the Simi location and they are amazing. I cannot say enough about James - he is awesome! He was my older daughter's instructor and he got her fully prepared for the test. My younger daughter had a different instructor and while he was nice, he was not James. I am 37 years old and I have never driven anywhere in the US. Safeway was amazing . The owner Ash, Patty , daisy understood my needs and worked with me patiently . Most importantly, I had an amazing Instructor James. He was the best. I could see improvements in my driving in a very short time .
