I've shopped here for over 30 years and always have had good service so I hate to write a bad review, but I would hate for this employee to bring down an important business in our community. I'm used to this store being open early (8 am) so this morning, when I walked in at 8:30 and I was kind of in my own head thinking about what kind of nice steaks I would like to buy for my son's birthday, I was abruptly yelled at and told to go away because the store was not open. It was so shocking and so rude. I thought the person was joking. I said you're joking right and she goes, "No, I'm not joking! We're closed! " Even though the doors were wide open, I guess they were open for employees coming in. I was ready to spend several hundred dollars, but instead I walked to my car and placed an online order from Snake River Farms. I got $25 off and two day delivery so I'm thrilled. It might be a while until I go back to Tonys. It's OK that the store was closed. I just wish the employee had used better tact. read more

I think Tony's is great, although it is not without its flaws, as some have noted here. They are a small, independent Market primarily focused on butchering and other proteins. As such, you get great cuts of meat, house-made sausages, bacon, pre-made meals, and roasts, etc. This fish selection is strong, and they have an excellent deli. That said, given they are a small independent shop, you will pay more for some staples, and you will pay more for higher quality items; you won't have the same selection of produce as a 60,000 sqft grocery chain. All of this, though, is fairly obvious when you walk in. Tony's is focused on quality over quantity. read more

Shopping experience is good Deli experience is poor for Sandwiches. Cold, pre made sandwiches that they cannot or will not warm up. Like eating a 12$ brick. I'm sure the ingredients are fresh, but ownership should really consider going in a taking a bite of one of those. read more

When we first moved back to Colorado, my Father-In-Law had just gotten a bunch of Country Ribs from a Groupon from Tony's and asked us to cook some of them. Mr H. is pretty spot on with his grilling, but we admit he can't take all the credit for these being the best ribs we'd ever had. Since then I've shopped for fresh meat when the budget allows. Their Popper Dip has made us (and other friends and family members who we served it to) addicts! And it's the only place I can find acceptable horseradish--no added sugar and unnecessary ingredients. Mom and I have enjoyed visiting for coffee and dessert many times. The bakery is fantastic. From peach pie, to cookies, to cakes, we've been very happy. Their pre-made pasta meals are amazing. Well, actually, we had a problem with the lasagna once. But it was resolved with a lot of communication with their chef, and a gift card sent to me. The store is small but easy to shop most times. I like watching cooking shows and try to replicate some of the dishes, but the ingredients that are used such as exotic meats, spices, and other things cant be found just anywhere. Thats when I turn to Tonys. Tonys will usually have things that other grocery stores and other local markets dont carry. There is always something good/great/new in the store. We bring all of our kids here when they come to Colorado just to visit and as a tourist attraction it's become a family thing. We start out at Tony's grab a cup of coffee or if it's seasonal hot chocolate then a cookie all right maybe three or four cookies some things that we like that look good for dinner or snacks and it's just plain fun. It is my number one Christmas, New Year's, Easter, birthday place! Do not miss buying cookies A plus. Frozen spaghetti sauce called I think Nona's or Grandma's Sunday sauce? Is excellent! Ditto with the rib eyes and bacon. Ask for the deli pickles which they pull out of a huge Barrel individually! The pimento cheese spread is excellent! Tony's has been great throughout the Covid19 pandemic. They have hired people out of work from catering and other positions. Their food continues to be top notch. I can look like a gourmet with their delicious shortcuts! We have had fresh fish, fantastic brisket, and fabulous chicken. They have a bakery to get fresh baked goods, a really good vegetable section with some fruits. Their Covid 19 precautions work. There are arrows and spacing. The employees wear masks. They have early shopping for the elderly and compromised patients. Consider doing safe shopping at Tony's for restaurant quality meals at home! Amazing display of fresh meats and seafood at Tony's! It also has many gourmet items, cheeses, cakes, and pastries will catch your eye as you stroll through the store. If you signup, you will receive coupons and BOGO's on a regular basis. Over the last couple of years I have been sad about the quality of their products. They used to have great fried chicken it is now dry and over cooked. We needed to add sauce to the lasagne, it too used to very good. Now their bakery is no longer a place to by a special birthday cake - I could good to king soopers and get the same quality. Fresh Seafood in Colorado?!! I'm blame it on living in Boston for eight years and growing up on the Jersey Shore. I may have lost the big hair; but I retained my seafood snobbery. In fact, I avoided all seafood in Colorado for the first two years I lived here. (PSA for anyone visiting the state or recently moved here, Rocky Mountain Oysters are NOT seafood.) After moving from Cap Hill to the Denver Burbs, I got a beige house, a dog, had three toddlers, worked long corporate hours, indulged in a few too many Mommy juices one night and thought*, "I'm going to throw a dinner party, like those Pinterest She-roes!" * Thought = blasted a text to a bunch of friends. I'll spare you the details of my WTF have I done? moment, but THAT was when I met my night in shining armor - Tony! Don't let Tony's demure appearance fool you. This small gourmet grocery/deli/meat/fish/bakery reminded me of my New Jersey roots, where local independent businesses served as the go-to for high quality food. Bonus: the butchers and fish mongers always ask how you're going to make it. Pro tip: ask them "well, what would YOU do with it?!?" Wait for their answer, and say you coincidentally plan to do the same thing. Typically, they'll even sprinkle their magic seasoning spice blends on the meat or seafood for you. The bakery is magic (holy cannolis!) as are the pre-prepared foods ! Everything is great! Another pro tip - they cater. Tony's is a gem that fortunately has been around since the late 70s (according to their sign) so likely won't be going away anytime soon. The food is of high quality and actually worth the price unlike so many other places in Colorado the last few years. On this occasion, we stopped in for snacks for the big game. They had a 7 layer dip that was well assembled and had a good taco salad like flavor. I bought my mom a sugar free apple pie half and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Hard to find quality, flavorful sugar free pie in the metro area lately. It was a little pricy according to her (I honestly don't remember how much it was...) but again you get what you pay for here. Their soups are tasty and my wife and I both agreed they are better than other grocery store offerings. Tony's offers pre packed meat packages like butcher box and we've contemplated buying one of those since they're local and it's always preferred with us to support local where possible. I don't know what to say anymore other than I don't know how they stay in business. Every time I go here there always a problem. The ownership/management seem like nice folks, but they are not good at operating or training the staff in basic customer service. I called yesterday to see if they carry lox and kippered salmon. Ben answers, says I don't know but will connect you to seafood department. I'm put on hold, no one from seafood answers, at 4min 10sec the Russian cashier lady picks up the phone, and says "who are you holding for?", then I'm back on hold for another 2 minutes and then hang up realizing no one is going to answer and they're wasting my time. There's clearly no standards, policies or training for acceptable phone skills, confirming calls are routed properly, and answered in a timely fashion. A place like this back east wouldn't make it past a year. In the mid-atlantic we expect retail business to use common sense and basic customer service skills and practices and if they don't, they wind up closing very quickly. Tony's is known for its high quality food, but their service is also extraordinary! My cousin was told that Tony's in Littleton had plenty of asparagus for a meal she was preparing for the holidays. When she arrived at Tony's to pick up a tenderloin roast, the asparagus was all gone. When a new supply came in the next day, Belinda who works in Tony's produce department, drove all the way to Morrison to hand deliver the fresh asparagus to her. She delivered it with a smile, and she refused to take a tip. What service!!!! Thank you Tony's for staying true to your north star both in the excellent quality of your food and in your excellent customer service. The best example: having an employee such as Belinda serving your customers. My cousin has relayed this story numerous times, and I think she is creating new customers for your wonderful store. read more

We love Tony's for all of their offerings and interesting foods but we tried the Deli today and spent $24 on two of the most disappointing sandwiches we have ever have. My wife's Turkey Avocado was on an old and stale croissant and the avocado was hard as a rock. I had the Ruben which had good flavor but literally had two slices of corn beef. It looked like two pieces of bread stacked. We will keep going to Tony's for specialty groceries but never again think of them for the Deli read more

I haven't bought meat from Tony's in over a year, so yesterday I decided to buy some of their low fat ground beef, to grill out (burgers). The meat looked SUPER fresh, in the case at Tony's. Got home, and the top "red" colored meat was the ONLY red colored meat in the 3 lbs. that I bought. The meat below was GRAY, and looked old. We grilled several burgers with it, and King Supers, ground sirloin IS FAR BETTER (and fresher). See you Tony's....WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!!! I used Tony's catering for my book-club dinner this weekend. I ordered a lasagna and a food package that included garlic bread, Caesar salad, lemon caper capellini and roasted vegetables. It was absolutely fantastic...every single dish. Everyone loved the food and it was so easy to heat and serve as well as being beautiful and yummy. I got to spend more time socializing and enjoying the evening than I usually do when I cook everything. Also, when I called to see if the food was ready for pick up, the staff was friendly and helpful and went through each dish and how to prepare it for a perfect result. Great ingredients, horrendous prepared food. Their meats and general ingredient selection is fantastic. Be careful with the made-in-house stuff... the pasta salad may look really appetizing behind the glass, but it tastes like it was prepared in the dirty dishwater. Similarly, the baby back ribs may appear delicious, but they were evidently left to dry out in the Sahara desert for at least 3 days before they made it to the store. At a time when we have so many choices in where to shop, employees at Tony's Market should think about where their livelihood comes from....their customer and word of mouth, especially when they charge the prices that they do. Rhonda is one of the rudest employees in this store. My experience yesterday is one that will keep me from returning to this store! Here is an update to my review! Dayton, the store manager went out of his way to contact me, listen to the issue, offer input and discuss how he would handle the situation with this employee. He agreed that what happened was not the customer service that Tony's wants to convey and wants to remedy the situation with a gift. I appreciate it very much. read more

While being outside running errands, I got hungry because it was past lunch time. Hubby's niece and I got a stuffed chicken with spinach to share. We didn't get anything else but the niece purchased some items from here before. There's a section to eat there and that's where we ate at. I'm a Tony's fan, unfortunately this location on Bowles has been on the decline. Went in today and the shrimp advertised on the sale add 6.99/lb was only available in the frozen case. The staff indicated they hadn't had time to place in the fresh case at 10.30am this morning. Also no fresh French bread amongst other fresh breads. Also deli case shirt on select items no Chicken Caprisi a popular item among the locals. Bottom line the food prep has not been getting done on charting items early enough. At 10:30 there should be some fresh bread available at the very least and a major dales item for the week the Shrimp should have been thawed and in the seafood case. Management needs to step up for the product/price point your at. read more

Kudos to Andy who helped me find about 4 things I was going to leave the store without, in frustration, and go pick up at Whole Foods. I had stopped shopping at Tony's because some items seemed to go down in quality, and it looks like that has turned around, especially in produce. Though the par levels are smaller now, it is actually helpful because not as much is going to waste and what there is in stock, is really fresh. Today I came in to get a sandwich and Darnell was working in the deli and he brought such joy and a smile to my face just by being nice and giving out great customer service. I was flabbergasted to stumble across this treasure trove of foodie delights today. Who would have thought that such a gorgeous store could reside in a dreary strip mall in sleepy Littleton? Tony's Market offers artisan breads and the most beautiful cakes and pastries I have ever seen. Mustards, vinegars, flavored oils, cheeses, fresh produce, locally-smoked BBQ and bacon, freshly ready-made entrees and frozen meals - this place has it all and far far more besides. The meat counter is phenomenal, although the fish/sea food selection wasn't as exotic as I'd hoped. I wish I could do my grocery shopping at Tony's every week but realistically, for me, this is where I'll come for special occasion meal ingredients and treats. read more
