(Serviced 03/05/13 TU @ 3pm): I'm not mon-keying around; I'm locked and loaded on this shack the next time a key is needed to be copied! I've needed to make a copy of the key to the front gate door of my pad since I moved in over six months ago, so I finally went to my favorite OSH Hardware store in Burbank where I've had keys copied on numerous occasions. When I recently went in and they checked out my key, they didn't carry blanks for that type of key, only standard house doors and the like. But the gentleman suggested I needed to go to a locksmith, which was such a foreign concept to me. Flash-forward to this eventful day while I ran errands during my lunch at the Valencia Promenade Shopping Center, I'd always seen this diminutive business situated at the corner of a four-way stop in the middle of this outdoor mall, but honestly never gave it a thought...until today. I thought, "what the fuck, it can't hurt to ask since I'm here." I walked up to the order window, peered inside and saw this young female who tried to get some lunch in while on her laptop. She greeted me as she finished a bite of her food (I didn't care because I'm chill like that!) and I showed her my key. I was about to take it off its ring when she said it wasn't necessary, so she took all of my keys, turned around, almost instantly found the correct blank like it was no big deal, and presto-chango, the key was made! I asked how much and I was amazed when she said, "$3.00." I was all too happy to give her my money. But the kicker was the cool conversation we had about Yelp and how she was a huge fan and used it for everything. I was shocked when I got back to my car that this place didn't have a Yelp page...so I created one for them on the spot. The service was da bomb! The young woman who helped me out was chill, I didn't even need to take the key off it's ring which was usually mandatory (I tested it when I got home and worked perfectly), I swear the key was made in less than a minute! Parking was ample since there were in an outdoor mall. Park anywhere and walk it. Overall, Safeway Locksmith was a safe bet when I checked them out, but it still bothered me that they didn't have a Yelp business page...until I added them. I found very good value based on the prices, service and experience noted above (total bill was $3.00, no tip required), but honestly I would've paid at least $5.00, which was the same price I'd paid at an OSH in Burbank on a fancy Disney blank. The atmosphere/décor was literally a shack - even an outhouse - it was that small. One young female with four windows, a door, surrounded by keys and barely enough room for her laptop. The attire was totally casual, so if it weren't for work I'd be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. Needed a key copied so I stopped by as I preferred to give my business to a small business over a corporation. However, I stopped by at 1:30 on a Tuesday and it was closed. There was a sign that said they'd be back at 2. I came back at 2:30 and it was still closed. I won't be coming back a third time. They lost my business. read more

From the beginning it all seemed like everything was good and I was going to be in and out with a new key in no time. But oh was I wrong. After the owner of this shop had cut a key, that I bought from the Hyundai dealership about 5 minutes earlier, he had showed me that only one side of the key worked and said that the problem was my original key had some ware. Right after that he had grabbed a second key, one of his shops keys, that he had cut to match my key and it worked perfectly. I then looked at the key I brought and it was completely cut wrong. I told him this and then he told me that it wasn't him or his machine and kept blaming the OEM key and he tried to charge me an extra $10 for the key from his shop on top of the $35 I was quoted when I first got there. The best part about this story is he had cut two keys, one of mine and one of his, when I first got there even though I had only asked for one. He was out to scam me from the beginning. In the end after some arguing he finally decided to do the right thing and only change me for the original quote and I got to walk out with a new spare key. I will NEVER come here again. I definitely recommend finding a different locksmith in the Valencia area for any of your key needs. read more

I came to this location to get a spare car key with remote, when he finished he handed me my old key with out the inner part of the remote just an empty shell. So I asked him where my working remote was he said he thought I didn't want it. Then he took the new key opened it back up and put it back on the old key. Be careful with this guy. read more

One of my employees locked his keys in his truck. I called Safeway at 10 AM. He gave me an ETA of 1 hour. I called him 2 hours later and he was barely leaving. I gave an exact address with a picture of the GPS. He couldn't find the truck and threatened to leave because he had another job. He was finally able to locate it after trying a little harder. He wanted to make sure he was going to get paid, which I understand. I offered my credit card. He doesn't take card... even though its 2019. Fine, my guys will pay you cash, no problem. He has trouble getting the truck open. He quit after half an hour, then left with out saying anything. I called him asking what happen? He says, i quote, "it was too hard cant be done." I called All Lock Anytime Locksmith after. They arrived and had the truck open in less than 30 minutes. Saved them in my phone just in case I need a locksmith in the Valley again. read more

I broke a key in the lock of my RV. I tried my limited supply of tools on it and couldn't get it out. I called Moody at Safeway Locksmiths and he met me at my RV storage location and in a giffy he had it fixed. I later called around to Moody's mini store in the Mall by Cold Stone ice cream store. There he cut me a new key and we chatted. I had been considering getting a more secure front door lock at home, similar to those is seen in my families doors in Ireland. Moody advised against them, he knew exactly what I was referring to he called them German locks. He said the quality of those being brought into the US was not good enough and he had trouble finding parts Based on that I'll wait a bit. Great service and great value. read more

Horrible. Don't waste your time or money! I had a spare key made for my husband's truck. He didn't have the right one and cut a key anyway. Charged me $7.99. The key never worked I brought it back to get my money back. He said bring the truck. Pretty sure if you were a good "locksmith" you don't need the vehicle to make a copy of a key!!!! Basically refused to refund my money. Second epic disastrous key problem from this unprofessional key-osk. He charged my Step Mom in Law 6.99 per simple house key. My key bent in the lock of my Grandma's apartment. I have never had a key bend and break. I WILL NEVER go to these people again! Bad business men and horrible key cutters. read more
