Called this guy for my neighbor who was locked out of her residence. When he arrived, he took a metal chisel and hammered it into the deadbolt numerous times twisting it from side to side until the lock became wobbly and opened. He then stated it was $85 and no checks or credit cards accepted, just cash. My neighbor asked if he was going to fix the wobbly lock that he just ruined, and he stated "Oh no, that would be an additional $100 for that". My neighbor thought a locksmith would be able to open a lock professionally, but this guy did it like a burglar/vandal just busting the lock. A hammer and a screwdriver could have done that for free. Do yourself a real favor and call a real locksmith when you need one. read more

I called Safeway Locksmith after I got stood up the previous day by Santa Clarita Lock and Key. Let me tell you, I made the best decision! Moody was prompt and very friendly. I showed him the locks that needed fixing, and he knew exactly what to do. He replaced two locks in less than half an hour. If something happens to go awry with the locks within 30 days, Moody will come back free of charge. When I requested additional copies of the keys he provided, Moody told me that he didn't have the ability to make extra keys in his truck, but I visited Mo at Safeway's kiosk across from Home Goods and was given additional keys for free. We have a Milguard French doors with multipoint locks, the door would not lock at all. Apparently these doors can have issues with the locks and if the locking mechanism breaks to get the part is a several week wait, and is approximately &150 to $200, plus the cost of the visit. Moody, the business owner knew exactly what I was talking about when I told him what kind of door, promptly said "I can fix that type of door, it happens with that door quite a bit." We made an appointment for the next morning. He said if he could he would try to come that day but if not we had our appointment set. He called the next morning to remind us that we had an appointment. Called us back when he was on his way, and called back to say he would be there in a few minutes. That's customer service! He came in with mask on, had the door fixed in about 40 minutes,and drilled deeper into the concrete so the post would go down a bit further as part of the locking mechanism. The door works better than it ever has. We are thrilled with Moody and recommend him highly. We will be using him again, along with referrals. Thank you Moody! read more

This man is a joke. He claims to know everything about my key that needed to be cut for my car. I already tested the key fob and it works perfectly. Instead he assumed that it will not work even though the key was specifically made for my car. The man is quite rude and didn't even bother to put down his phone while speaking to me. Overall incompetent. Keys are of poor quality. They tried 3 times to make a key for me then kindly said they would come out to me to figure out the problem. They took the lock itself to their truck, took it apart then could not put it back together . Then tried to sell me another lock set! I refused, since the lock I needed the key for was brand new. Unfortunately this place is way overpriced, Double what any other locksmith would charge. I'm a big believer in going to a locksmith for getting keys made correctly, they do it right and with the right equipment. This is the third time now and I'm done. Convenience my ass I don't like being ripped off. Home Depot charges $1.85 for this key, A locksmith retail price would charge me $3.25for the key he charge me $5.54. This is a small key to a small lock. It is a standard key standard lock nothing special. I don't mind paying a little bit more for a professional, but I don't need a professional to screw me either. I think he picks and chooses the price when you walk up to his little booth. read more

Took my 2002 Honda motorcycle to get spare keys made, and these guys went through multiple keys and custom cuts to get it to work as my original key and ignition port was not in the best condition. They're in a little kiosk booth in the same shopping center as black angus and where pavilions use to be... Across from target. Anyway, they're right at the four way stop sign in the middle of the shopping center. It's so small, it's like a parking garage security booth size place... Maybe two people can fit in there at the most. Looks like the owner and one of his nephews work there. Anyway, I bought s blank key from Amazon for a little more than $5, then had him cut the special key... No teeth on the outside of the key, it's on the inside. The chip transferred easily into the new fob, and he cut it without my car there. The nephew said did he tell you it's not guaranteed? After we paid him $32 cash. It didn't fit the car, so i took it back Tonight after work and he filed it down to make it fit. Yay! He was half the price of the other 4 star yelp place on Lyons ave, and the other guy in canyon country never called me back!! So, it only took 2 tries, but I'm satisfied! read more

Safeway has made keys for me over the years and each and every one has worked perfectly (unlike the ones you get from home improvement stores which almost never work). This time, we needed to install a new door lock and re-key it. While following the instructions, my husband bent one of the tiny springs inside the mechanism. Argh! I took the bent spring to Safeway and told him my tale. He "sprang" into action and pulled out about a half dozen springs and said if my husband needed any help re-keying, just give him a call.
