It made me select atleast a one start review but i give it Zero stars. An elderly man came in early to get his shopping done before it got busy and buy breakfast ingredients for that day, not knowing that apparently your only choice is self check out before 9am. He advised this would be hard for him as the shopping itself was a struggle. The clerk advised he could self check out or wait 30 minutes until 9 am to get his groceries. She wouldn't even help him self check out....how shameful, where is any form of customer service and respect for our elders. I was ashamed over hearing the interaction and blatant disregard for the assistance he needed. This poor old man left with no groceries after the 35 minutes he stated it took him to shop for his groceries. Safeway would rather you leave empty handed than show any courtesy, customer service, or respect. Shame on you Safeway, do better. read more

Absolutely not impressed had a cake ordered for my sons 2nd birthday and didn't notice until we took it out of the box that it was screwed up. I called the store manager and whoever she was she made everything right however my complaint is with the after hours manager believe her name was Stephanie and she needs further training in customer service not only did she push her way into the conversation I was having with the other employees but she came right out and starting blaming my wife for our cake being messed up. Not how you treat customers even if they are wrong. I was not rude in anyway not until she tried blaming my wife she was not nice she was probably the rudest person I have ever tried dealing with and she's supposed to be management. Honestly she's quite a B Even after I showed her the pictures of the inside of the box she still continued to blame my wife that it was her fault even after I explained how could she have done it if the inside of the box doesn't have frosting in it. Honestly I couldn't believe that I had to explain that last part. Unfortunately this is the closest store to us but from now on we're going elsewhere. And since I am at it there produce absolutely blows were constantly throwing it away a few days after buying it and be careful with their fruit bowls there almost always moldy and not fresh. read more

There's a whole bunch of good food and on the top shelf there's outdoor chairs and tables but way over priced 129.99 for a chair. There service is pretty good but probably wouldn't recommend, but the food is a good price. read more

I was surprised how gigantic this Safeway was. And strangely the pharmacy/season section is right in the middle/back of the store. It seemed weird to me to have the store broken up by a pharmacy section - I guess I'm used to that being in the far corner of a store. I wasn't terribly impressed with the produce, it was average. Outside they were roasting Hatch green chili, but unfortunately about as friendly as a shopping cart. I suppose perhaps they hear all too often how amazing roasting green chilis smell - but I thought I'd get a "hello" or something. The cashier lines were really REALLY long, they seemed short handed for a Saturday afternoon. I guess I'd come back in a pinch, but I'll probably search for something a bit less gigantic for a short grocery run. read more

Once again today I was reminded why I do no shop at this store. Busy store, 2 check stands open, chose self checkout and had a price discrepancy. When I asked them to check as the item rang up at a different price than what the sticker on the shelf the clerk assisting self checkout ready went to verify and came back quickly saying that the sticker was wrong. I asked if they would honor the discrepancy and she referred to the manager. Who again went to verify the item and told me the sticker was wrong and that there wasn't any of the items I was purchasing in that spot. I know the shelf had more because I debated buying another one at the sale price. And told her so. The manager treated me very rudely and then walked off. I cancelled my fresh pass and will be driving to another store. Save yourself some headaches and find a better store to shop at. Should be very easy, just not as convenient. read more

If I could give zero stars I would! Worst produce ever and I mean the WORST! How is their handling if a bag of chopped salad is rusty in the bag on Nov 2nd and the sell by date is Nov 8th? I've seen better produce in 3rd world countries. Prices on everything I buy is 50 cent to over a dollar more than Fred Meyer...especially dairy, wine and produce. There are always lines...always! There are one or two friendly cashiers but for the most part they seem to be annoyed that they have to assist you in the u-scan. Given that the nearest Fred Meyer is 20 miles away, I sometimes feel optimisic and think it will be okay to stop there for a few things. Not any more. I'd rather go hungry. Have give. So today I go to get a follow up pneumonia vaccine. It all started here in 2020 when this store was out of the first two I could have only had the third which medicare does not pay for, it was over $100. I declined and went to Fred Meyers. So now I come in for second dose in a Safeway in Vancouver, and have to wait while they unscrew up molalla's mess since they billed Medicare even though I didn't get the vaccine...are you kidding me read more

Tried delivery again & that was a mistake. Couple of my yogurt was expired & the rest to expire in 2 days. Had the same problem with milk.

This sure is a grocery store. Prices are alright. Some produce like organic potatoes, mangoes, or pomegranates tend to be much cheaper elsewhere. Sometimes I'll buy some kind of beef roast and there will be so much liquid in it that I'll have to poke holes in the corners of the plastic and drain it into the garbage can. The clearance sections can be a lot of fun. I've bought plenty of yogurt, cheese, sausages, bacon, lunchmeat, raw meat, and mysterious snack foods for 50% off. If you're really lucky, you might find something for 75% off! Whoa, dude! Most of the shopping carts are squeaky or clunky, at least the small ones. Who can manage to fill a big cart? The gas pumps are incredibly slow. You'd be better off spooning gas into your tank. Cell phone reception is anywhere from bad to nonexistent which prevents you from using Safeway's own smartphone app in the store. read more

This place is an absolute zoo. The only decent size grocery store in the area. So the place is completely packed at all hours of the day and they usually only have two human worked registers open at any given time and three self checkout. The lines are extremely long every single time I go there. And I usually only go there for onesy twosy stuff like milk or coffee creamer and every single time I spend at the very least waiting 10 minutes in their amusement park-esque lines. The place is a nightmare. I would give one star but as it's the only place in the area they get two although it is still nowhere near convenient. read more

Lines at checkout always are way longer than any other store I know of. Also...Prices couldn't be any higher. Too bad its the only game in town. They could do a lot better. We jammed up your parking lot and made camp out in the field next to your store and what was your response? Has pretty good selection, sometimes can't find specific brands. Some things are pretty spendy. Bakery hasn't disappointed us yet. If you go at the right time there can be large amount of clearance items, however it gets REALLY busy. Got to check packages of clearance things, I know they mark them down because they are about to expire but I found a clearance package of tortellini and it was very moldy. Deli makes pretty good sandwiches. Chinese food is very disappointing. (It seems like every Chinese food we've gotten anywhere has been disappointing, but safeways was the better of all the places we've had... But that's not saying much) No cell service. Paper usually offers coupon doubler. read more

The irony of the customer service ( or lack of ) at Molalla's Safeway today.....was they had a sign talking about their customer service policy. The check out line had a propaganda poster. It stated that they would open up another check out line if there were more than 3 people in line. Well, they had 4 check out lines with 10-15 people in EACH lane/line. And still no additional checkers were called to assist. I am not sure who is running this store....as this made the Molalla residents crying for another store to support. I was one of many, many people who left their groceries & exited the store. If the sign was not there, maybe this lousy customer service would not be so embarrassing for the store. I manage a dental office and I know the importance of delivering amazing customer service. We have similar surveys about delivering extraordinary customer service. I'm constantly observing various businesses seeing what they do and how I can implement that in my own practice. Yesterday I had a legendary customer service experience which has earned my lasting support as a loyal customer. My daughter turned 1 yesterday and I ordered her first birthday cake thru the bakery along with the smash cake. I picked it up yesterday in the late morning as her party was at 2. It was beautiful and I was very excited! Once I got to the car I somehow tipped the smash cake and half of it was crushed. I freaked out luckily my mother in law was with me and she took it in to see if they could patch it up. Without question they took it and told her to come back in a half hour for a new one. I was beyond happy and so relieved as this cake was the center of the party! Jennifer in the bakery came thru with the exact beautiful smash cake and they didn't even charge us extra! I can't tell you how much this meant it really saved the day. I'm beyond greatful. Bakery has a lifelong customer now! read more

Cash drawer open message on lotto machine could not entice clerk to come over and clear machine for me even after repeated requests. Finally had to abandon my money without tickets. This is typical of the level of service you can expect at this store. Too bad as this is the last major grocery store in the area. read more
