    Fuschia Saturday Eve!!
    Joan F.

I really appreciate the variety of offerings from this store and the fact that they hire and train local youth to work here and perhaps move up in the chain. My favorite sections are produce (great choice of fresh, organic veggies), garden (Fuchsia Saturday!), and natural foods (great prices on vitamins, Avalon products). Even when they're busy, the customer service is on point and helpful. It's always clean, well-organized, and well-stocked. If and when I've had to return something, it's been an easy, pleasant experience.

    A pound of packaging!?!?!?

Frankly, Fred Meyer has the best grocery prices in Canby. Having said that, their new Lower Prices campaign is a bit of a scam. For example, broccoli at 99 cents a pound would be a decent price, but it is carefully trimmed to be mostly stalk and not florets, so you're actually paying about double that for usable food. Even worse, I bought chicken there yesterday at $1.99 a pound for boneless breasts. I bought three packages of about four pounds each. When we took the chicken out of the packages we noticed the empty packages felt very heavy....so we weighed them. They averaged a full pound of just packaging. That's ridiculous and borderline criminal. It brings the ACTUAL per pound cost to about $2.60. I'm posting a picture of one of the empty packages on our kitchen scale so you see they're really doing it. It's the modern day equivalent of the butcher with his thumb on the scale.

Pretty good store. Bakery needs some help. What happened to the fresh hot French bread? For a smaller store they do all right.

Levi the old manager is gone but store shelves are ALWAYS EMPTY OF SALE ITEMS. ALWAYS EMPTY OF RIPE PRODUCE. Usually there is no produce AT ALL, if you are lucky and there is some produce it will be completely unripe and inedible or spoiled garbage. IM STILL FLABBERGASTED AT THE GREED AND CARELESSNESS of the MANAGEMENT at this store. Grateful you got rid of Levi, too bad he was only moved to Canby store. Canby USED TO BE a good SW! Another recent Safeway Wilsonville experience included Alex accusing me of stealing at Self Checkout in front of a line of customers because she was so poorly trained, ignorant or incompetent to verify the computer was wrong. Wilsonville Safeway DOESNT CARE ABOUT GOOD FOOD, SERVICE OR CUSTOMERS. THIS IS A CORPORATE STORE, EVERYONE! Here's the tip Albertsons asked for: STOP ONLY CARING ABOUT YOUR BOTTOM LINE AND MANAGER BONUSES...START considering, very seriously, your inventory and the treatment of customers and your employees...or you're all gonna be out of a job. Companies don't exist like this for long. Original Review: I really don't understand all of the 5 star ratings. This store is awful. Items are constantly out of stock (I don't think I've ever been in this store where a majority of the shelves were stocked), produce is rarely at peak freshness (I've seen gnats, brown spots and found mushy vegetables frequently), meat counter service is ghastly, deli service is slow (if someone helps at all or acknowledges your existence), bakery is mostly frozen items shipped in and iced or boxed in-store and most employees (including the manager) won't even look you in the eye or say hello. Safeway in Sherwood or Lake Oswego are a much better bet for a one stop shop. I go to Freddys across the freeway now-much cleaner, always well stocked and the employees seem more attentive. It's a shame because a Safeway store can be so nice (like a Pavilions-same company so it doesn't make sense) but it honestly it feels like the store manager is determined to make you not want to shop this store. Maybe he hates Wilsonville?
