Moldy mushrooms.
William C.

I'm really perplexed to have my issue with Safeway. I bought Organics mushrooms to find out when getting home they we're moldy in the middle of the bunch. At about the cost $3.50 I wasn't trying to rush right back as it's not economical and wasteful of time and gas. I was going to wait until my next visit which is about weekly. Anyhow the mold just started taking over and getting nasty. I took a picture and tossed them. Now, it's a few days after Christmas and the following week and I go to the store and fill my cart. I stop at customer service desk and explain my situation. Adrianna says she can't credit my bill because I don't have the receipt. I have my Safeway card and or app I use for shopping. I have the same debit card used to buy the moldy mushrooms. I guess her decision to not provide me customer service at the customer service desk is backed by Safeway. Your telling me in 2020 and the digital age that my proof of purchase can only be verified on a small piece of paper that easily gets lost or tossed? What a scam! I left the desk, checked myself out and will find another grocery store to shop at.

Where are the signs that masks are required. And NO they do not monitor how many are in the store.

Great store even with the homeless living out front. The Pharmacy sucks: long lines, abrasive pharmacist, and slow cashiers!

The market is well-stocked with unique shelf items from around the world-- pastas, jams/jellies, biscuits, oils, vinegars, tinned fish, and legumes. They have a vast deli case with meats, cheeses, and prepared items. The meat and fish counter is magazine-worthy and they feature some hot-food specials using meats and sausages from their counter. The wine selection is expansive-- we even saw a few bottles from the Loire region of France which we had the great fortune decades ago to visit family friends. It was the produce area that really made my heart sing and my eyes bug out. The produce section is colorful, artfully arranged. I could practically feel the antioxidants beaming into my body! I have never seen SO many varieties of alliums in my life. They had four different types of "green onion" (scallion, green garlic, calçot, and red spring onion), plus mahoosive leeks. We had a great experience with service which was friendly, helpful, and prompt. Since we were out and about doing other things we didn't get anything that required refrigeration like cheese, meats or produce, but we did have sandwiches from the deli case which were tasty. I look forward to going back for some of the produce and cheeses.

I spent several minutes waiting near the register for her to even acknowledge me while she giggled and gossiped with them. Finally, she asked me how I was doing, I responded 'oh I'm fine,' and she clearly wasn't listening to me (going back to talking to her other co workers on the next register) because she asked me yet AGAIN how I was doing in a more ruder tone. The bagger was also side tracked by the other co workers and didn't help me bag at all. Maybe split them apart next time. Annoying as hell.
