I'm going to Raley's from now on. I came into the store and had to wait for 5-10 min in line at the delie section. The lady greeted me this morning and asked what she could get for me. I told her 1/2 lb of boars head roast beef and 1/2 lb of the masque turkey. Pretty simple order. She replied by saying that I can just grab it from the pre sliced section. To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a fraudulent Macy's gift card I purchased from your store on March 28, 2025, at Safeway. I bought the $80 Macy's gift card as a gift for my sister-in-law. When she attempted to use it at a Macy's store, she was informed that the card had already been used--it had been cloned. The PIN number on the card had been carefully scratched, which we now realize was a red flag. Not only was the card unusable, but my sister-in-law was left embarrassed at the store due to this incident. Despite providing this documentation, and repeatedly following up since March, Safeway has yet to resolve this issue. As of today, August 1, 2025, I have not received a refund or replacement, and the matter remains unresolved. This delay is unacceptable. I was visiting the city and needed some staples for the week, mainly water and snacks. I stopped in to the Safeway to pick-up these items and everything was easy to find and took me 10 minutes total including using self check-out. I come here often because I live near by. The workers are all nice and it has all the normal things a grocery store should but I just don't. Get how they are understaffed every night at 5-6 pm. When I come after work the lines all get supper long from the rush of people coming off work but the cash registers always take so long and by the time people do show up to do registers the whole crowd is gone. I went to the customer service when I noticed that I was over charged for cucumbers. The very large woman did not give me the price that the produce man said it was. (I asked him as there were two prices. For 3 different cucumbers) one being for the English that mine wasn't) I believe that I should have been given the price I was told. I'm very disappointed. Be careful if this is your pharmacy. I had a prescription transferred here and they told my normal pharmacy they will fill it. Then I spoke with Mai at this location and she said "I will not fill it until tomorrow ". It's a medication that by law CAN be filled 2 days prior to running out. The Rancho pharmacy filled it for me last month too and the pharmacist told me their policy is 2 days prior. I told Mai this and she said "Well what's our pharmacists name?" I don't know because the person I spoke with last month identified themselves as the pharmacist and I don't remember their name. Then she says "I'm the pharmacist and you did not speak with me" but then later in the conversation says "I'm not normally here I'm just helping out today". So she lied about being the regular pharmacist and told me I have to go without my medication. I told her the law and she told me "that's not the law". Well it is. So beware if this is your pharmacy. This is 100% rating for the Sushi guy at the Rancho Cordova Safeway. The sushi he makes every day is just outstanding. It is tastier than some sushi I have had at "sushi" spots. It's made fresh every day!! My son said eeew to grocery store sushi until he tried this guys. I apologize for not knowing his name. He always has a smile and is willing to get us specialty sauce when we ask. The other day I saw two ladies waiting and realized he was custom making their rolls. It's also worth mentioning that he puts out a great variety of raw and cooked fish. The only ambiance is the cleanliness standards you visibly see that's kind of a must for sushi. 5 dollar Fridays is at the sushi counter as well. I returned to this location for the first time in probably five years. I instantly remembered why I stopped going there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store was relatively clean, there were more than a few rowdy customers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]A woman walking the entire store while in a very loud inappropriate conversation on the phone (on speaker phone) there was a man walking the Produce section talking to himself and everyone else pushing a dog in a stroller (all compartments of the stroller crammed with trash).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There was a very useful security guard, walking around, head down on his phone. We waited for five or six minutes, just for someone to acknowledge us at the meat counter. When they finally did say hello they continued doing dishes for another two or three minutes before someone finally came to help us. We went to check out and Kimberly (while she was very nice) was literally texting as she was handing change to the customer in front of us. The manager was walking around doing absolutely nothing. I'm assuming she was the manager based on the most severe case of RBF I've ever seen in my life and the lack of any actual purpose. Safeway has repeatedly over charged me and my family. I use their app, scan in store specials, buy frequently get home after shopping and find I didn't pay the expected price they advertised. The store may be well stocked, but seldom have enough cashiers to serve their customers. Stopped over at the deli, the nice gentleman taking care of the deli food was very courteous and friendly. The fried and baked chicken were ultra delicious. Crispy and not salty. Tonight I was a little miffed because the far right entrance was locked (by where the Girl Scout cookies were being sold) and I had to walk to the other door (I'm on a walker) I called . I've been here several times, but rarely come to this one because this store is nowhere close to my home, work, or other frequented establishments. It's a standard Safeway that used to be old and kind of messy, but it's been remodeled over the years and it looks a lot better now. There's all the fixin's and happenin's and other things here as with other Safeway stores. I would say it's centrally located so it's convenient if you happen to be in Rancho Cordova, but the neighborhood could be a little rough at times, so I would avoid coming after dark. The staff are friendly enough, although I've not asked for help from any of them and usually use self-checkout to pay. I've not bought from this deli, so I can't speak to that dept, but all the hot and cold foods there look fresh and well stocked with great variety. The produce dept looks good too, as we frequently buy bananas at any Safeway. Finally, I really do like their floral dept, where the displays are beautiful and the prices are competitive compared to specialty floral shops. Overall, this is a pretty good Safeway in an otherwise not great area. read more

Most chaotic grocery store in the area. Understaffed, tons of items sold out, employees ignore you at deli counters. We came in this Sunday and we're disappointed again, the store was pretty busy but only one checkout lane was open. Headed to self check No big deal, the employee watching self check is having a conversation with other employees and is practically screaming. The Walmart next door isn't even this chaotic. Where are the managers?? You know your store is short staffed yet you only leave two people at the front to help guests? Food in the meat dept area is sparse or just looks like it's sat out too long From now on we're going to sprouts or target. Been through many Safeway's in my time, and I have came to find that this location lacks friendly customer service, but seems to always have what I need - fully stocked. The fresh produce area, which is organized nicely - at this location is one of the best compared to other locations. The meat department isn't bad, although I wish they sold more options for beef products. As far as steak, rib eye is my favorite cut and the selection is not that wholesome. Back to the customer service comment listed above. In the handful of times I've shopped here, the register gals did not smile- nor really look up and I had to be the first to greet. Even after that, the lack of personality was very apparent. Oh well, this isn't make or break for me - just more for information you might want to know. So, I take a trip to the store and look for that product. EVERY time I visit, that particular product is unavailable. ALWAYS. At first, I thought it was just bad luck or poor timing. I have come to realize that this dishonest company just sends out coupons for GREAT deals on products that they don't actually stock. It's just a scummy way to trick people into visiting their store. Today, I received am email coupon for a deal on a free item. I couldn't find that item, so I asked multiple employees. Nobody knew or had heard of that item. The last dummy I talked to actually tried to locate it, wandering around a couple places it might be found, while I followed. I have seen the transformation of this Safeway from since I was a kid to now. It looks great and the shelves are wel stocked. The customer service is great on the store floor but some of the cashiers aren't very talkative but that's ok. There are always lines here with about a 15 minute wait when you're past the 10 item limit and have to go to the regular lines. It's kept clean and patrons all seem friendly. Food in the shelves are rotated as they should even though I reach in the back for a date that expires much later so at least I know they're doing their jobs with that. read more

Called Safeway Bakery 7/8/2022 at 3:40pm to place an order for a birthday cake. The phone rang and elevator music commenced. I waited patiently and finally someone answered the phone. Unfortunately it was not the bakery and I was advised that the bakery would be paged. After more elevator music the same lady picked up and stated they still didn't answer, I said "no". She stated she would page them again. After a few more minutes of elevator music I hear click click. After a series of clicks I took the hint that Safeway staff was ignoring my call. If you want to be harassed, threatened and humiliated due to your disability, this store is for you. Due to sensory issues I do not want others bagging my groceries. When I asked the bagger to allow me to do it myself, she became extremely aggressive. She then began to mock me and laugh when I attempted to explain the situation to her. She became louder, and even more aggressive. She continued to bag my groceries knowing full well it was causing the problem. Thankfully the security guard understood the situation and attempted to diffuse it. This woman became enraged and began insulting me. She went as far as saying "everyone has disabilities, you jus5 need to get over it." She said her name was "Stefani bit spelled different." That's my guess of her spelling. This woman needs some serious diversity training and improved customer service skills. She is going to cause the store a lot of problems. The comment she made "there's one every night" really shows how little respect she has for customers. The only reason i didn't use self check, it wasnt open. Violating the Americans with Disabilities Act dies not look good on the store, management and the corporation itself. My mext actions are dependent on tour response. It was July 4th at 11:35 pm.
