Love the layout of this Trader Joe's! As usual there were a lot of shoppers in Trader Joe's. But it did not feel crowded even though I visited on a popular shopping day and time. If I were at my Folsom, Trader Joe's, I would be shoulder to shoulder with shoppers :-). The store was well stocked. Except for cottage cheese. I have found Folsom Trader Joe's to routinely be out of cottage cheese also. It is the best tasting cottage cheese I have ever had. I guess a lot of people feel the same. Additionally, this area, like Folsom and surrounding nearby areas, is experiencing a large population explosion. And I am sure it is a challenge to keep shelves filled. When I checked out, I asked about the seemingly different layout of this particular TJ and the chronic cottage cheese shortage. The checker said that cottage cheese disappears so fast they're only allowed to put out one pallet a day. And he confirmed that the layout is different than most Trader Joe's because they have a very creative, awesome manager who is really good at those type of things! Always a pleasant experience shopping at this TJ's! The staff is super friendly, the shelves are pretty well stocked and have a good selection here. This is where I typically get my whole milk yogurt. The cranberry almond cashew mix is wonderful! And the Charles Shaw is just always a good everyday wine! read more

Groceries aside, the STAFF make this my favorite Trader Joe's. Especially, Rico/Nico (I'm so sorry!) oh my goodness. He made my day after I took a stress shopping trip after visiting my elderly Parent's. Treated me like a person/family and was very sincere in asking me questions. I wish there was a Trader Joe's location closer to Rancho or actually IN Rancho. That's the only negative thing I'll say about this place. If I could, I'd go here for all of my groceries. I love their brand and pretty much all of the food I've purchased from this place has been excellent. They have this meat lasagna for just around $8.00 that is absolutely amazing! I've never had a problem getting assistance from someone in the store because they're always right there when you have a question. They're very helpful and patient even with all of the foot traffic they get on a daily basis. The store is surprisingly cozy and it feels like a mom and pop store. Idk what it is with me and wanting to feel vibey and cozy all the time, but this place has it. Take a break from Walmart or Target, and head on over to Trader Joe's for your groceries sometime. I've been to this Trader Joe's since day one for almost 2 1/2 years. I've never felt so unwelcome.. My cashier was named Tori and honestly it's unacceptable especially when you're working in customer service. The immediate interaction was I had a handful of groceries. Not only did she not pull out the wood stand for convenience, but when she did her hand gestures of disgust that I came to her register and when I was trying to pay with cash and rest on card immediate reaction was rough trying to cancel the card payment.Her last words was thank you for coming in, but it was not genuine whatsoever. It looks like she doesn't even want to be there. Hate to tell it like it is, but there are more people out there wanting to work and provide better customer service if she's unhappy, then she should not work there instead of taking it out on the customers. It saddens me because this is my local Trader Joe's, and I was thrilled when we moved here because of the convenience and the customer service and now I feel like I can't even go back. Only reason why this is two stars is because the convenience. Service: I don't come here very often, however, every time I do, I am very pleased with the level of service I receive. In particular, Shawn was extremely helpful and took the time to answer any questions we had and offer suggestions that we needed. Store: I was able to find everything I needed in the store, although the space is small, I would recommend coming early because trader Joe is always busy. Sierra, a Trader Joe's Fair Oaks manager is "AWESOME"!! I was shopping in Trader Joe's -Fair Oaks this Sunday evening, May 18, 2025 at approximately 7:05pm and I couldn't find a product that Trader Joe's sells on a regular basis. I asked Sierra if she could help me find the product and without hesitation she walked with me over to the section of the store where the product is generally located. We both looked for the product for a few minutes and then Sierra found the product for me. Sierra was positive, caring, empathetic, knowledgeable, professional and patient. Every time I've gone I was warmly greeted by staff. I am almost always asked if I need help. Only downside is they do allow people to bring in their pet dogs who are not service dogs. That can very dangerous and un nervy to others who need their dog to work and not be distracted by barking dogs. Besides that the store is always clean and the parking lot is always filled. read more

This place never honors the coupon price they list. Multiple times I've called them out on "this product has a sign in front of it that states its at a different price then what was rung up at the register." They always give some excuse and never honor the price listed. read more

Good use of minimal space. Not a large place, but they do use the space to offer a bit of most things. If you just need a few standard items, this works great. Larger grocery shopping is unlikely to be completed here. That said, this is a clean shop with some of the more desirable brands one seeks at a Trader Joe's. Came for some charcuterie board item and some wine for a birthday party recently. Found enough of what I needed in the offerings. Located in among other storefronts, the parking is okay in the large busy lot. On my visit, all registered were staffed as the place was quite busy. Not all things need to be a superstore and this is a decent place to pop in for a good subset of their usual, bigger store selections. read more

Wait! They have plants?!? I'm not a frequent shopper here because it isn't near my home or on my way home, so I was pleasantly surprised this store Caries plants. They were all beautiful and fresh and priced just right! Picked up 5 potted bulbs that were perfectly in bloom and spent less than $25! What a great deal! Their service is a lovely as the flowers! Hi-ya! So we visited this Trader Joe's and found they are taking all precautions with the covid-19 and social distancing. They have chalked/taped off 6 feet markers on the ground outside and inside the store, respectively. The employees are polite and wait for you before they were stock an area or move about the store (to keep that social distancing). The selection there was good--nothing seemed on shortage and we came to stock up on wine. We've been drinking at least a bottle each and well...that adds up and we're not all that fancy...so no more Costco selection wine...now we go back to our roots of the Charles Shaw Shiraz wine. So our entire trip was perfect. Good service, minimal wait to get inside (again do to covid-19) and big selection. While leaving I was carrying the case of wine we bought by the food in handle with one hand and the box ripped. The wine case (12) fell a little over 2 feet to the parking lot ground and red colored wine flooded everywhere. Nearly every bottle broke. There was a gal (Trader Joe's employee) outside helping with shopping carts and she ran over and asked me to just stand nearby so no car would run the box over. She came back with a cart and took the broken box and gave me a new case of wine. I said they didn't have to because I should have known bette then to hold it by one hand, but they were super kind about it. Totally good customer service--especially when they did a kind thing AFTER I left the store's doors. read more

I admit it. I love Trader Joe's. Trader Joe's is one stop grocery shopping, all compacted under one roof. Literally almost anything you need, or might want is here! I really enjoy the fact that all of the stores pretty much carry identical products, which makes them consumer friendly. You can go into a store in Sacramento or San Diego, and find the same wonderful items/ stocked staples from one store to the other. Occasionally, some of the stores may carry one or two items indigenous to their respective location. I once found a tasty trail mix in Los Angeles, that I haven't found in other stores. It's what makes exploring their stores so much fun. This location is set up slightly different from some of the other stores in terms of layout etc. I also found their selection to be less than what I'm accustomed to seeing. I love the cheeses that they carry, and this store has half of the selection that the Marconi location does. Ironically, they had a larger selection of pre-made salads versus what I've found at other stores. The fresh meat section was full, and they even had some grass fed beef steaks that looked grill ready. The produce section is always a must for me. I love the fresh basil when it's in season, and the blood oranges are always juicy. Nuts. Trail mixes. Candy. Chocolate. So many choices, and every single one is better than the next one. Try the chocolate chip cookies. Just yum!! The maple leaf cookies are perfect with a cup of something warm. Overall, it's a great store. Reasonable prices, and a perfect place to grab anything from produce, to snacks, to even adult libations. read more

Since I live in the Citrus Heights/Fair Oaks area, this has been my go-to "Trader Joe's" for roughly 5 years. I've been to many other locations in the Sacramento area; mainly Fulton/Marconi (when I lived in the Arden area) as well as Douglas/Harding (when I worked in Roseville). But when it comes to convenience, parking, and close proximity to my home, this particular location scores at the top for me. Located in the heart of the Sunrise Marketplace and inside a fairly large parking lot directly off of busy Sunrise Blvd. & Madison Ave., this Trader Joes has been a staple in this part of town for many years. It is technically in Fair Oaks but also serves residents of nearby Citrus Heights as well as the neighborhoods of Gold River, Orangevale, and east Carmichael. I enjoy frequenting this location simply because they are not as busy as their other locations; even on peak shopping days such as Saturdays and after people get off work during the week (5-7pm). Furthermore, ever since the COVID-19 pandemic began (in March 2020), they are limiting their store to just a 25% capacity while taking all safety precautions very seriously. As many other Yelpers have mentioned, they offer very unique items that you simply cannot find anywhere else. Some of my go-to staple items consist of pre-made salads, cheeses, hummus, dips, specialty frozen foods/snacks (my favorites are their orange chicken, sweet potato fries, olive oil, roasted corn, vegetable Samosas, arugula pizza, Pad Thai), spices, sauces, cold latte dessert bars, and my new favorite is their non-dairy chocolate oat beverages. They even offer a ton of cleaning bath/kitchen products, vitamins, flowers/plants, wine (which prices are some of the best anywhere), beer, spirits, & pet food for your four-legged friends. On any given day, I always see a lot of smiling faces from the employees/staff here. They all genuinely enjoy what they're doing and that goes a very long way as a regular shopper here. What I particularly enjoy about the service is that many of the employees give me recommendations on products I have never tried before. One of which was their yellow Thai curry sauce that I love using for chicken and rice. Another is the Everything but the Bagel seasoning that I spread on cream cheese with celery. Their knowledge helps me get unique and different recipe ideas. Overall, the Fair Oaks "Trader Joe's" has always been my go-to specialty grocery store. Even though I enjoy places such as Costco, Winco, Sprouts, & Grocery Outlet as well, I find Trader Joe's to be its own category simply because of branding a lot of unique, alternative items that you can't find anywhere else. When you factor in the high level of customer service (even more so during the pandemic), selection, & amazing prices, this place is a win-win in my book. My rating, a perfect five-stars. read more

I came here looking for just the essentials, you know... gluten free this, vegan that... organic across the board... and yep, Joe had it all. I love Trader Joe's. I am also happy to see that TJ's is stepping it up during this horrible pandemic by spacing out the customers (sorry, that came out funny - they make sure that customers are at least six feet apart while waiting to enter the store) and wiping down all the carts. No baskets allowed and only 30 customers allowed in the store at a time. All the employees wear masks and most of the customers too. You are not allowed to bring in your own bags but if you insist, they will pack your merchandise in the cart and you can bag yourself. Otherwise they provide free paper bags! I can't even list what my favorite are here since there are sooo many. Love their gyoza, bruschetta mix, masala simmer sauce, arugula and their wine selection. I miss the samples right now... I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had hand sanitizer here limited to one per customer. It is the spray kind with alcohol and essential oils for only $2 a bottle! Despite the masks and social distancing, the employees always are upbeat and make me feel like they are happy to see me. I even got carded! Bonus! I love shopping at TJ's ! I sure wish there was one a bit closer to me. The one on Sunrise is actually in Fair Oaks. Not too far but I have to be going that way for a few stores to make my trip worth while. Love the fact you can get a decent bottle of wine for a good price .This fine grocery store is filled with a plethora of fine healthy food such as: Fresh organic produce, vitamins, frozen food, fresh salads and dressings, olive oils, bread, sodas, seltzers, meats, libations, etc. More importantly is the friendly efficient and hardworking employees that go out of their way to assist you in finding the right products. I have never run into a TJ employee who wasn't willing to help. The free samples and coffee are wonderfully displayed and thankfully eaten by me if I see it! Overall I love this store. I shop here every sunday and get my weekly grocery's. Before today I had no negative connotation with this store whatsoever. However, yesterday I bought the box of watermelon and the box of pineapple. This morning when i went to eat the watermelon for breakfast I ate it. First of all it smelled like it had been fermenting for a long time, it smelt sour and honestly putrid. When I went to eat it it honestly was probably the worst tasting thing I have ever put in my mouth. Let me remind you, I bought this yesterday...there is no reason for this to be happening. Moreover this review, much like my experience, is zero starts...But overall I do enjoy and will continue to shop at trader joe's, I just won't buy fruit from there anymore. This location is not the nearest to me, but if I'm in the area and need Trader Joe's I'll stop on in. The store runs like all the rest of the locations with fast checkers even if the lines are long. I discovered a couple of new items I thought I'd share with you guys. One is in the frozen food section. It's called Pelmeni, and it's a Russian dumpling, either served with a soup broth or with butter or sour cream. It sort of reminds me of Chinese won tons though shaped like little hats. The filling is mushroom and chicken. You just boil for 8-10 minutes and that's it. I could taste the nice filling of mushrooms and chicken. I give this a 4/5 star. The other product I found here was the Trader Joe branded real Canadian maple syrup. It seemed a little expensive (about $8.00) for the size of bottle and being Trader Joe branded, but after I tasted it, it's so worth it. I got my soy milk with the aluminum seal opened! TWICE. The lady that helped me to exchange it, I told her if I can check the seal and told me no need because it's not open and sure enough it's the same container with the foil lid already open. I did not come back anymore it's hassle to keep going back but will never buy soy milk from here again. CHECK YOUR SEAL BEFORE LEAVING. read more

Damage is always done once I get my hands on their chilli mango , mini individually bagged almonds , siracha chips, and dark chocolate ! Even though their cookie butter is amazing , I know better than to indulge . When I do give in to temptation, I get the speculoos cookie butter ice cream or cheesecake cause you know...
