The roommate's group of friends does a Friendsgiving every year. This time, someone brought pies from Safeway. This happened on Sunday, November 26th around 5:30pm. He brought a Chocolate Cream Pie with Ghirardelli and Banana Cream Pie. I'm not a huge fan of chocolate, so I only tried the banana one. It was creamy with a good amount of banana flavor. I adore custard, so the filling was kind of like a banana custard. The whipped cream was thick, but still fluffy. And the whole thing wasn't too sweet. Cream pies can be a little rich, so I was only able to eat half of my slice. The roommate finished off the rest for me. I've had a couple desserts from Safeway recently and their bakery items seem to be pretty good for the price point. I'd get another pie from them. It definitely fulfilled that sweet tooth. read more

So I tried to pick up a drive up order a second time. I didn't think it was possible, but I had an even worse experience. This time as usual nothing happened after I pulled into a drive spot and checked in on the app. After waiting for 15 mins I called the number on the sign. No one picked up. Sigh. I will have to walk inside the store and pick up as my stuff myself as usual I thought. So I walk in and sure enough there's no one at the drive up counter. Welp. Time to search for an associate and just pick up my order myself I thought. Found an associate to help me. And then I find out they have no idea where my order is. They called the manager on the speaker three times. No answer. They said it seems someone else picked up my order. Perhaps a family member? What the heck? It's just me, my wife and our 4 month old. No one from my family picked up my order. Now I'm getting really annoyed. We continue to wait for the manager for the next 10 mins. Some other associate comes and looks at the computer. They tell me to go to customer service counter. Pfft. Whatever. I go there and.. Wait for it... There's no one at the customer service counter. I go back and tell them there's no one there. Then someone comes. Then, finally the manager arrives. Apologizes. Gives me a gift card while I wait 10 more minutes for my order. I grab my stuff and walk back to my car. The whole "drive up" experience was a little over 1 hour. read more

This Safeway location is out of the way but since I was in the area- why not?? As I arrived, it was hard to miss the long lines that had begun forming at the cash registers. Previous reviews from other yelpers aren't exaggerations when it comes to long, grueling wait time. The employees seem to work in slow-mo and it doesn't help that the store seems to be understaffed. There was no help on the sales floor & only three registers were open on a Friday night with one of them closing out for break [or possibly for the day]. I've been shopping at this Safeway location since they opened up about 10 years ago I shop here every week at least 2x per week A long time customer who has spent thousands of dollars here to feed her family! This place has gone to complete trash. Sadly today an employee approached me while I was at self checkout with my son to ask if I had intention on purchasing an item that was still sitting in my cart First of all, how disrespectful and inconsiderate. Who trains these people? Asking me like I was planning on stealing. Had a disappointing visit yesterday Sat 11/20 when I visited the deli and noticed the deli worker wearing her mask but euthanasia both mouth and nose exposed and she was making a customer's sandwich. When she was done I politely asked her to pull it up which to her credit she complied after remarking "these things always slip down" though I never saw it up for the ten minutes I was waiting. This location was a former Lucky supermarket, but now it has been converted to a Safeway. One thing that you will remember when visiting this location is parking. Why? Because parking in this complex just flat out SUCKS! Don't get me wrong, it draws in a crowd for good reason. There is a Starbucks, Jamba Juice, In-N-Out Burger, Panda Express, and Chipotle to name a few. This should give you an idea as to why you are circling the lot just to buy a bunch of bananas and one loaf of bread. Worth it? Probably not, but most of us suck it up because it is the newest grocery store in this area. Once you finally make it inside, you will like the look and feel of the store. Since it is new, everything is still in pristine condition. I do have to complain about how frequently they stock their items. I've found certain perishables that were left on the shelf for close to a week. No that is unacceptable. I've spoken to a manager in regards to this issue, and he assured me that they will pay better attention to expiration dates. With the Starbucks and US Bank in place, I'm sure this also adds to the craziness in the parking lot. Yes, I know....it is a one stop shop, but that doesn't mean I have to enjoy wasting my time circling for a parking slot. (OKAY, I won't mention that parking SUCKS here again!) Side note: Parking sucks! Poor experience in bakery dept. I arrived about 15 minutes after the bakery "closed." I rang the bell and waited for another 15 minutes but no one came. Finally found the manager and asked to buy one of the cakes in the window. She refused to leave her station and said the bakery had closed. I could have opened the case and taken the cake but needed a plastic cover. No one would assist me. Dysfunctional service. An example of self-sabotage by dumb rules and poorly enabled employees. If I could give this location zero stars I would they are selling fraudulent gift cards and scamming people out of their hard earned money. I went to purchase a vanilla Visa card and tapped over the barcode was another barcode so someone else pocketed the cash. And when I went to the manager they said this happens all the time so just know if you come to Safeway for gift cards they'll scam you out of your money. And they refuse to pull the cards off the shelves or inspect them before the customer pays. They are acting as if it is normal for people to get scammed when they buy something at this store. When I came back to the store with the bag and receipt; the employee told me that the bag was empty, so she would not issue the refund. Came in for the usual items (meat and sparking water) and decided I needed a coffee from Starbucks. As I ordered my coffee, Mary, was kind enough to recommend the new white chocolate macadamia cold brew, and let me tell you, it was delicious! I usually go for iced americanos or cold brew, but decided something different would be nice. Anyway, as for groceries, it was nice to see that Safeway stocked up on some ghost peppers! Also, I really love the fact that Safeway has multiple cold single beverage options. I always go for the sparkling water of course. So refreshing! read more

I would give this store 5 stars based on the customer service I received from Renee today over at the register by the alcohol but 4 stars for the often hectic parking depending on time of day or day of week. I know that has nothing to do with the store but it's still something worth noting in the grand scheme of things. Anyway, I really wanted to take the survey Renee mentioned to at least give feedback on my customer experience but based on the link in the website it looks like it's not working so I just wanted to come on here and shout her out :) Thanks for helping me quickly place my items down as I didn't grab a cart and for quickly giving me sanitizer to clean off the chicken juice that came out of its packaging as well as giving me a separate bag for it right away. Depending what time you go to this Safeway, the parking lot can be park. Beware during lunch and dinner time as the line to In-n-Out drive through line can extend through the parking lot. It can even extend outside to the street of tully. If you did not want to mistakenly get into that line, I suggest going the back way where the traffic light is. Everytime I been to this safeway to look for gelatine, they never have it (4 times). They also make it located on the very top shelf. This makes it very difficult to even see if they have any left. I was also going to the spice section. I like using the McCormick spices. I was looking for basil leave and parsley. They didn't have the parsley. The other section of the spice had it but McCormick. I think I came on a bad day (Tuesday) cause they didnt have a lot of stuff. Shopping for 90% lean beef, but they had completely ran out of it. Tlmy alternative would be Turkey which they didnt have much of it. In addition, some of their products were located in the wrong location and so the prices were not accurate. Someone or some customers put more than 15 packets of ground turkey where pork lions were suppose to be. With this, I thought I was buying $1.29 turkey but it was actually $6. Someone wasn't monitoring their product. I do like the customer service here though. When this mistake had happen for the turkey, the staff was kind enough to let me to get a different one. Before that, she did call for assistance to check the prices of turkey. read more

That is their policy, but I have been in there numerous times when a line was 10 or 15 deep, and they had no available staff to open an additional line. I have seen people wait 30 minutes to check out, and I have seen people drop their groceries and leave because they couldn't wait any longer. Dear Management, here is a suggestion: Since you make money hand over fist, let's ramp up your staffing. Or, then's cross out that "3 in a line" policy, just so you are not constantly embarrassing yourself. Just a thought. read more

The ONLY reason I shop here is because Luckys is so much more expensive. The parking lot has horrible access, and if In and Out Burger is busy, their line makes it impassable. There are typically no more than 2 cashiers open. Now, they have completely rearranged the store, moving all pharmacy items (except prescriptions) in a cordoned off area with the liquor. Whatever you buy in this area has to be paid for in this area. Which means you have to stand in 2 different lines. There is only one cashier. Today we went in and there were at least 8 people in line. Never mind the fact that if you are a regular customer you have to relearn where everything is. Goodbye Safeway. I will do my shopping elsewhere. read more

I would not recommend this location because there is always shortage of staff, rude staff and the line is huge all the time. Not to mention the cashier did not put one of my purchased item in the shopping bag- I only found out about it when I got home. I just hope this is an honest mistake or the cashier has a bad day because she has a very bad attitude OR she holds a resentment towards certain some groups so she did not give me the paid item because she treated the previous customer with more respect than me. And she also slammed my bag a bit aggressively on the counter too. That item only costs me $2.86 so I won't file a complain. I just hope Safeway trained their employees better. read more

This store has a very rude store manager , her name is " Olga" she has a bad attitude and here is the story. I went back to store after purchasing bunch of items day after . I Asked if I can return only two bags of orange only which was bad , where I end up speaking to her. She immediately walked to me with attitude without me even saying anything to her , saying " yes" ? no hello , no how can I help you ? nothing she had this look like you are bothering me, I tried to show her the bag and Said can I return this item? without seeing anything , she immedialtly told me she wont refund me because It was bought through ubereats. I tried to show her the receipts clearly showing prove of purchase but she would not take it. her excuse was how do I know you bought in this store ? well the receipts clearly said which store item was bought in ! plus orange bags had bar codes on them. I said is there anyone else I can talk to , she turned and said no and you can complain to whoever you like , I don't care! I told her you really have a bad attitude and I will contact the headquarter and she continue interrupting me saying , I don't care . As store manager you suppose to be not combative but instead be customer service oriented. How many things can you find wrong with this picture? It was missing toilet paper, but I found a partial roll on the floor by the sink and put it in a holder. A pregnant lady has to go. No paper towels either. When I went to tell someone who had a badge named Brenda, she was talking to a cashier. I told her the bathrooms were really bad. She told me I should tell someone else because she was off duty. I'm like ok... That was helpful. You're standing right there. Anyway, I told the cashier who said she would get someone. This location has a nice layout and is well stocked but they aren't necessarily the cleanest location around. I enjoy shopping here but when you bring a spill to an employees attention and the same mess is still spilling out over the floor over 20 minutes later, it's just waiting for someone to slip or get injured. Certain items are good buys here, especially with the weekly specials and $5 deals. I don't buy a lot of flowers here, but the floral section in particular is full of dying flowers that are in constant exposure to the elements from the doors being opened and closed constantly. They need to be kept colder and priced more reasonably, the bouquets are nice but for the cost of close to a florist, you might as well get the quality for your money. read more

Had the displeasure of trying to shop at evergreen safeway again today, something I seldom do anymore. As I walked in some fat latina was griping at me about how I need to wear a mask. I told her I have a medical condition and cannot wear one. She got upset and ran to escalate this issue. After about 10-15 minutes and after I'd walked through about 80% of the aisles I was in the liquor section, when two latina bimbos came up to me and told me "Sir you need to wear a mask!" - I explained again that due to my medical condition I cannot wear one. I was in line to checkout and leave/be done with safeway. Didn't matter, these two irate bimbos wanted to assert their authority! I dumped out the items I had in my shopping box and walked out. No worries! There are other, more sensitive places to shop that won't alienate and offend customers over a stupid mask, while they shop for 15 minutes. Sheesh, customer lost! This Safeway has the WORST customer service I've ever experienced. What is the interview process like when hiring employees? It feels as though they're looking for workers who are willing to rudely belittle anyone of any age. My mom doesn't speak any English but she knows enough to pay for items and leave. She usually goes to self checkout to avoid any language barrier between a cashier. Today, the girl with the crooked teeth at self checkout came over to my mom and rudely yelled at her because my mom accidentally counted 9 corns instead of the 8 limit customers could buy. She yanked the bag from my moms hand, grabbed the corn and pushed the bag back into my moms chest. At this moment, I was walking towards my mom and saw the interaction and when I asked what's going on, the girl just walked off. I hate confrontation so I let it go but this is the last time I'll be taking my mom to this Safeway. Why are you even working a customer service job if you're so unhappy and rude to people everyday? I There's a real danger driving into this parking lot! The company hired to make speed bumps made them dangerously high. My car bottomed out and I stopped and then continued as the speed bumps are made to do, but my car slammed hard and as I went back to get out of the parking lot I could see many scrapes on the speed bumps! Called around 10pm prior to coming in at 6am to this Safeway, I called to ask if they carry a specific flower on the phone but he was quick to look and answer all my questions, excellent customer service. I went inside the store in morning at 6am for the flowers and some bday decorations and was greeted by friendly staff. Victoria specifically helped me today in picking out decorations and rung me up. They were redoing a bunch of blended drinks. That would have been fine too, however, I want to call attention to two things: 1) while waiting I noticed him taking off his hat and wiping his forehead and hair with his hands and 2) when I asked the others when my order might be ready, this guy was condescending telling me it was right there.
