Tonight was our first time dining at this establishment. The staff was super friendly, the environment was clean, the food was served in reasonable time and very fresh. 11/2025: food looks mid 12/2025: Could tell by the pics food was mid, gave it a try and yes mid. Tastes like indian fast food. Price and portions ok. The rice was buttered and was lowkey the best part. The garlic naan was very fluffy and kind of bland and uneven fluff. asked for extra spicy i didnt taste any spicy really lol. The ingredients in the chana tasted like they were fighting each other. Prolly will try the biryani next time. Service ok. Went for lunch today with my cousin. The food was so delicious! We got coconut chicken, samosas chaat, mango chicken, a cheese and a garlic naan! Everything was fresh, hot and the flavors blended so well! Our server was great! Super friendly and prompt! The restaurant had lots of seating. Looking for a halfway point between Milwaukee and Chicago to meet up either my dad for dinner, my dad found this place and we both love Indian food so decided to give it a shot. The first thing you notice / it shares a parking lot with a motel and almost looks like their restaurant (it's not). Not very full on a Saturday night. But after the first sip of his mango lassi - my dad said he knew it was going to be good! The appetizers were both out of this world - generously sized samosas and a chickpea and potato dish that was so addictive I was practically licking every drop off the sauce on the chickpeas. Our waiter was so kind and attentive / he was worried the chicken vibdaloo would be too spicy for us so he custom made it a little less so. It was some of the best chicken vindaloo I have had...and not too spicy, though a nice little kick. He then gave me a "full spice" version to try and honestly it was just as good. We had a goat coconut curry, also, and absolutely incredible flavor - though I didn't really taste the coconut specifically? Garlic and cheese naan bread both good and I took a saag paneer home for my kids (ironically this was the spiciest dish of all!) that they tore up - delicious. And to be honest, the prices were very reasonable for the amount of food and quality. Atmosphere in the restaurant is nothing fancy - but if you want good, reasonably priced Indian food - this place is worth going a little out of your way for! read more

We were looking for something different for lunch and found Saffron Grill House on Yelp. SO glad we did. We ordered Lamb Korma and Butter Chicken, nan & rice. The flavors were delicious and the meat was so tender. Portions were generous and the service was very good and very polite. We'll definitely go back to try more items. Highly recommended! read more

Our first try of this restaurant and Indian Food and we LOVED it! Employees extremely courteous, friendly and helpful. We were able to custom order how we wanted our food, ie spice level and amount of garlic. Butter chicken was delicious with incredible flavors. Naan bread delicious dipped in the chicken sauce. We don't venture this far from home (We live 4 miles S of the Cheddar Curtain) but our visit was rewarded. But Yelp's pic, the slogan "Halal, Indian, Pakistani), the sole review sold us. We ordered two appetizers snd two entrees and split them. I'd never thought of seasoning beef cardamom, but it REALLY worked. You order your food mild, medium or incendiary. Too often we've ordered food mild and find it unseasoned or order it medium and find it too hot. And Racine areas restaurant are traditionally under seasoned. We ordered one appetizer mild approaching medium and it was too hot. Our waiter brought a cure: a minted yogurt sauce. FANTASTIC. No liquor yet; license should be issued in a week or two. And for Illinois resident think SAFFRON GRILL HOUSE is too far and they shop at Woodman's in Kenosha---it's only 10 minutes further north. read more

My husband and I love good Indian/Pakistani food, and we were looking forward to trying the Saffron Grill House for the first time. We met another couple there for dinner. We were seated in a booth by a lovely young woman, but there was a television blasting, accentuated by the restaurant's hard surfaces. There was no music. The interior was that similar to many other small restaurants, plastic-upholstered booths, oak wood, and a bar and wooden tables in the middle. The timing for the food and drinks was terrible. Water was served in plastic bottles without glasses or ice. We both ordered Karachi tea, which took as long to come as the appetizers and entrees. Samosa Chaat, listed as an appetizer, was as large as our entree. Our Spicy Goat Biryanis came at the same time, along with the Garlic Naan. The table was too crowded with all our dishes, and we had trouble placing all of them comfortably so we could start dinner. The Samosa Chaat was unusual and very good. The Goat Biryani hid the meat at the bottom of a large bowl of spiced rice with some vegetables, but the meat itself was far too fat, and each piece had a large piece of partially disintegrating bone. And the spicing was al la Wisconsin spicy, which is like a two on a scale of five, not real Indian spicy. I was completely disappointed. A lot could be done as far as timing is concerned, serving the appetizer by itself, then the naan, then the entree. The hostess didn't even bother clearing the dirty dishes from the table when she presented the bill, and had to be prompted to do so. We were never asked if we needed more water or tea. This is obviously a new restaurant going through growing pains, which are very sad. Compared with Indian restaurants in Milwaukee and Wauwatosa, this one comes in very incompetent and a sad loser. This place needs to get up to speed. read more
