The spouse suggested Indian food today. This was my first time. The restaurant has several large rooms and does catering, banquet accommodations. Its not much on ambiance but, the food aromas scented the air above the simmering pots of stews, desserts and sides. We both picked the skewered tandoori chicken. My spouse took the Indian rice, whileI went with the white basmati rice with lemon wedges on the side. The spouse ordered dessert of flour balls in syrup and I went with dense very dark chocolate cake. We also selected nann bread that was buttered and herbed with a garlic like seasoning. Everything is fresh, the owner friendly and suggestive. We tasted the butter chicken and, if we hadn't gone with the tandoori chicken, we woukd have gone with that. I got samosas which were perfectly crispy. Lamb over rice was very tender. For me the surprise star was the lentils. 10/10. Warm and spicy in that indescribable way only Indian food can be. The place is kind of hidden & looks like a banquet hall. But as soon as you walk in, you're hit in the face with an amazing smell. Well we were two weary hungry travelers. My friend is vegan, so we had a hard time find good healthy meals. We stumbled onto to this place. Oh boy were we glad we found it. For $16 we got a choice of protein, 2 sides and our pick of the rice. The lamb stew was one of the best ones I had. Not fatty at all and reminded me of a Mexican birria. They leave the food heating up for hours that by the time it's in your mouth it's almost melting on your tongue. The customer service guy is super friendly and they have a ton of tables for you to hangout at. I'm here in Racine from Chicago so I'm here for a bit and I can only say good things about this place. Who would have thought that Downtown Milwaukee would have good Pakistani food, but they do. This business was subject to a Google review that voiced hate speech. The business owner turned the other cheek and expressed love and the community came out and backed him. We showed up on a lazy Thursday afternoon after flying in earlier in the day. The owner's wife was behind the counter and she was as nice as one can be. She showed us all the dishes and gave us samples of whatever we wanted to try. Not knowing how spicy the food would be, we wanted to make sure it was tolerable before ordering something too spicy. It all had a good kick to it and it's a slow burn so be aware. It's probably on par with hot Pace picante sauce. The Wife and I opted for the same thing. The chicken plate with chicken rice, lentils and okra. I was planning on getting the goat plate, but it was an up charge and I didn't think it was worth it. The food was delicious. I especially liked the lentils. The okra was a little dry from having sat in the serving tray. There were also chickpeas that neither of us got. We were abundantly surprised with the taste and portion size of the food and we mentioned it to several of our friends that live in Milwaukee. A colleague and I picked up some lamb curry bowls for lunch the Friday after Thanksgiving. We were not disappointed!! Fantastic flavor and excellent lamb. I usually try any type of ethnic food when I travel. Mediterranean style food (shawarma, gyros, Indian, etc..) and this restauraunt hits the mark. The service was quick and friendly, they also had no problem providing the sauces on the side since it was our first time eating here. Great attitudes and friendly people. If you want to find a hidden jewel amongst the plethora of ho-hum eats in Racine- this is the place to go.
