Karachi Kabobs offers a variety of entrees and wraps. We tried both the Chicken Boti and Beef Bihari kabob dinners along with a take out of Haleem. The Beef Bihari was authentically good and generously portioned. The Chicken boti was big boneless cubes of breast and flavored nicely along side 2 chutneys. We had the Haleem the next day. Wanting something different and stumbled upon this new place. For those who miss Port or Perri Perri I. Algonquin Commons, this is a nice substitute. I tried their Chicken Boti (marinated chunks of chicken that are grilled) served with basmati rice, bread/tortilla, and tiny salad. You choose your heat level and they add the appropriate sauce to your bag. I had a medium green sauce and yogurt green sauce. Both are very flavorful and delicious. Hubby tried their Beef Kabob meal. It was ok. We shared a giant Samosa and an order of Falafel. The samosa is so delicious, I recommend ordering one per person. The falafel is good dipped in the yogurt sauce. They did not have any lamb dishes the day we visited. Hoping to try a lamb dish in our next visit. You can dine in, but we opted to take our food home. They fix your food fresh, so takes about 15-20 minutes to prepare. Just enough time to run to Costco and return. read more

One word can describe this place, Wow! We came here for my wife who was celebrating her birthday week (that's how we do it) and this sounded good to her. I have had Indian food, and other ethnicities in this "general area" but never Pakistani food. The owner was a delight to speak with, he enjoyed introducing us to his Pakistani menu and they keep it rather simple. We decided to have two combos, a samosa, and falafel. The owner was honest that the lamb dishes are really good but his supplier had not arrived so we went chicken and beef. The chicken was the Boti Chicken and the pieces are large, with some nice char to them; it was delicious. The beef was Bihari Kabob and it is a ground beef that is pressed and grilled. My wife liked the falafel (I had one piece) but the star of the show was the samosas. I will be honest, order, at least, one for each person. The samosa was so good, we split it, and we wish we had more of them. I wish I had taken pictures but by the time I got home, we unpacked the orders, and poured some wine, I was ready to eat. I doubt all Pakistani restaurants are amazing but this one is. The prices are a bit above what I expected but I can't say the food didn't earn it. Karachi Kabobs is different but good. There aren't a lot of Pakistani restaurants in the area and I'm pretty certain that it's not Indian food, it's similar but not the same. Last night we ordered their Tiki Chicken combo plate and Chicken Swarma combo plate. On their menu they only have the Chicken Swarma listed as a roll but I asked if they could make this into a dinner plate and they obliged. The food took about 30 mins to cook and that was fine since I was in no hurry to sit down and watch the Green Bay Packers put a butt whooping on my beloved Chicago Bears. This is like the second or third time we've ordered for Karachi Kabobs and it has been a minute since we ordered from them last. I go and pick up my food and everything is there and packaged well. I get home and the food is still nice and warm and it comes with two kinds of sauce. The only way I can describe it is one is a white creamy sauce and the other is a herb oil sauce? I don't know since I'm not too keen on Pakistani food but it's got a nice mild kick and goes well with our dinner. The Tiki Chicken and Chicken Swarma combo plate comes with basmati rice, a small side salad, and paratha bread which is their own version of naan (Indian bread). I split the dinner with me and my wife and I give her some Tiki Chicken and she gives me some of her Chicken Swarma. The Tiki Chicken is delicious, crispy and full of flavor. The way they grill the chicken is FIRE! And I asked them to make it a little spicy and it's a got a nice little kick to it. I ordered the Chicken Swarma for the first time and it's different from all the other mediterranean swarmas that I've had before. And this makes sense because they are not a mediterranean restaurant but Pakistani restaurant. I can describe the Chicken Swarma as more mushy then that of the mediterranean chicken swarmas. This is NOT a bad thing, it's just different. The sauces that they provided, complemented the dinner perfectly. My wife really enjoyed ripping the paratha bread and eating it with the swarma and dunking it the sauces. Overall, I'm glad Karachi Kabobs is in the neighborhood and I hope they have many years of success to come. Keep up the great work KK! read more

Wish I could give a review higher than 3 stars but I honestly was not huge on my food. To start off this is not a Mediterranean Spot, it's Pakistani so just because you see shawarma on the menu, it doesn't mean the recipes are going to be the same. The cuisines are a little different. My brother and I got 2 chicken shawarma wraps and it took about 20 minutes to make which by those thoughts I'd assume it'd be super fresh and flavorful. I don't know what it was but the texture of the chicken we had was just strange, like some others have said, the meat seemed kind of chalky. Was it frozen or something and just cooked again? Honestly chicken by itself wasn't too flavorful either. The sauces inside we weren't a fan of either, seemed like a mixture of ketchup and mayo, I guess I was expecting Garlic or Tahini not the restaurant's fault they use a different sauce but it should be listed somewhere on the menu. The wrap was pretty messy too, after a bite or two chicken was falling out and the sauce was going everywhere. Do not recommend eating this in a car if you plan on it. There was some positives though. The staff was pretty nice and we did order one additional item. The Zinger sandwich they have was pretty flavorful. The Zinger is their version of a crispy chicken sandwich but seems like they bread and season the chicken themselves. The chicken had a little kick to it and was more enjoyable than the chicken in the wrap. The zinger also had ketchup, mayo, and cheese on top of the chicken with a bun. If I were to recommend anything it'd be that. For the price, it's hard to say I'll be back. 3/5 on this one. read more

2.5 stars: I think if I had read more of the reviews first, I wouldn't have gone in. I was expecting Mediterranean style food which is not the case. I actually mentioned that to the staff and wish that they had clarified/corrected me before I had ordered. I had a lamb dish which I did not enjoy and would not come back for again. I am not sure how it was supposed to taste or what the texture should have been, but it was dry. That said, I would give this place 2.5 stars because the staff was pleasant so the stars are for them, not for the food. This review is long overdue ! One of my favorite Pakistani/Indian lunch spots in the Chicagoland area. Their masala fries are ! Most their menu items are delicious. But for me what sets them apart is their Hunter Beef wrap and Lamb Chapli kebab. I need my fix normally once every 1-2 weeks. Quality of food is consistent. Sometimes the hours are not posted correctly so normally recommend calling ahead of time before making the trip unless you are not far ! read more

Wow. Doesn't look like much, but the food is amazing! The meat is incredibly tender, the sauces are flavorful and the paratha wrap is buttery and flaky and it combines for an amazing food spot. I got the chicken boti wrap and the Karachi Limka Drink. The owner is nice and takes the time to talk to each customer as well as cook your meal to order. It takes a few minutes to cook, but worth the wait ten times over. Was in search of food and stumbled across place. 4 reviews and all 5 stars was intriguing so decided to stop by and give it a try. It's located at the opposite end of Butera in Algonquin. Decor is minimal, but place is clean. We ordered the beef bihari kabobs, lamb bihari kabobs, and a burger. My husband enjoyed everything about his meal, from the meat to the paratha, and rice. The paratha is very light and airy and carb lovers will enjoy it. I do wish they gave you more rice and vegetables on the side (diced up cabbage and tomatoes). The beef bihari was good, but it was way too spicy for me. I almost wished they would warn you, prior to ordering. Even the couple on their way out commented on how you didn't need hot sauce since it already had lots of kick to it. Well I am not a snob or overly picky when eating out so this is a true review. The main entry was very fresh and tasty but the rice was old and bland. The cucumber salad garnish was brown and old as well. Now what really really is disturbing is how dirty this place is. We came in at noon and they were not busy. The kitchen looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months, every table was dirty with hair or food and the bathroom made me want to vomit. This could be a gem, the owner was nice but with the old ripped decor and the dirtiness, we just don't see how we could come back. I've been meaning to visit, I mean, my sister has been pestering me to try Karachi Kababs since it opened. We kept it simple. We asked for curbside pickup and tried the Bihari lamb kabab wraps and falooda. Those who answered the phone sounded a tad clueless (they were likely kids put on duty by their parents) and scrambled for answers whenever I asked a question but thats ok. I parked and didn't even have to call them. A boy came out with gloves, a hair net, no mask. He was friendly. We really enjoyed the falooda. It was a rosey medley of creamy, cold, noodley, jello-y goodness. The wrap was satisfying. No one in the family cared for the sweet, thousand islandy sauce in it (next time we'll ask to exclude it). The wrap had a griddled, chewy paratha type texture. It was loaded with cabbage, cucumber, and tomato. The star was the kabab pieces themselves. They were definitely grilled, spicy, and savory. Adding the included green chutney is a must. It was kind of a bummer that they sprung a price hike at me when I called them. The price went from 6.99 to 8.99. Alas, I was hankerin for lamb and my freezer was fresh out. I'd say that the size of the wraps will have me back to try other items for sure. read more

The beef Bihari wrap was very flavorful. The bread appears to be homemade, the meat is so tender and the spice is delicious. This place is phenomenal. I have no idea how they cook the meat to get is so tender and delicious but it's really incredible how good the chicken is here. This is one of the best hidden gems in the area. Do yourself a favor and try them out, it is pakistani food but very approachable for those who arent familiar.
