They accommodated some last minute travel conflicts and helped me make it to my friend wedding in the nick of time! The rooms are perfectly decorated to feel unique and cozy but not overdone. The floor plan is extremely clever because they utilize a slat wall to separate the bathroom area from the room, with the tv mounted flush. This design eliminates wasted space and creates a circular flow to the room which made it feel much more spacious. The rules were lax, in that they let adults be adults as long as they act like adults. The staff was attentive and the amenities in my room were luxurious and some were even complimentary. It's easy to get to the Main Street in town and central to all the best beaches. Great for instagram photos too! Definitely enjoy a stay here and you won't be disappointed. The beach was not far and we were reasonably close to town. So, the location is very convenient. Wen, who I assume is the owner was very warm and welcoming. She was extremely efficient and they definitely take Covid seriously. The room was very very clean. I would say that the room can smell a little a little musty when you first walk in but i had deodorizer which I always bring whenever I travel and it was fine. If you're expecting luxury, this is not the place but it's lovely, nicely decorated and really comes with all that you need. You might say it's retro or old school but it's exactly what you might expect from a cottage. I forgot to mention that there's also a patio area with a Weber grill and lovely wrought iron furniture. The shower was very hot and the bed was comfortable, which is important to me. :) I highly recommend and will definitely be coming back, especially since Hither House is dog friendly!

The owners, Dan and Alane, are gracious and warm, lovely and kind. As NYC transplants who have an appreciation for locals and visitors, they are informed about all things North Fork. They are wonderful hosts who made us feel very welcomed! The rates are competitive, but the stay is even more worthwhile than we had initially imagined. The Guest House is the epitome of a comfortable country home -- a beautiful dream, to say the least. I ran my hands along the different textural walls and refinished drawer chests. With modern yet rustic aesthetics, the house is bright and breezy and clean. Our queen-size bed is a cloud! When I began explaining the situation, she literally said, "I don't have time for this," and then followed it with, "Are you making a reservation or not?" I was stunned. We were ready to spend a week here, but after being treated like an inconvenience for asking a basic, medically necessary question, there's no way I'd trust our family vacation to this place.
