I have been to Sage Day Spa on an average of 3 times a year since they opened. I have never been disappointed. The spa has a lovely ambiance with an inviting waiting area. Your own personal locker and a soft robe and open toed rubber shoes to wear to change into for a massage. Today I had a 90 minute Signature Massage done by Cameron. I had scheduled a foot treatment and got a call in the early afternoon of the evening my appointment was scheduled telling me that the therapist was ill that day and they would need to reschedule. It was a bummer because I had already arranged my schedule and childcare, but it was understandable. I changed my appointment, no problems. Then I showed up 15 minutes early for my rescheduled appointment (as the email I got from them suggests). The front desk told me that the therapist wasn't there yet and to have a seat. I knew I was early and so I sat with my book, enjoying the calm. A few minutes after my treatment should have started, the front desk told me that the therapist never showed up and they couldn't get ahold of him so they would have to reschedule me. Completely unprofessional. I am so upset! I had to get a babysitter and PAY for my babysitter. Their policy states: "Because your spa appointments are reserved specifically for you, as a courtesy to our many guests and limited availability, we require a 3 hour cancellation notice. We understand that occasionally emergency issues may require a shorter notification time, however, if a pattern of no-shows or last minute cancellations continues you will be charged a 50% cancellation fee for late notification or the full service fee will be charged for no-shows." They should show the same respect for me and MY time. I believe I should be offered 50% off, if not a free service! I will not be giving this company my business anymore. read more

The facial was the worse facial I have ever had. Laying hot towels in your face, is not a facial. I have red burns on my face where she didn't apply oil and then used blade. She also missed so many areas. Upset about wasted time and money. Bed was cold. This is a spa, heated beds are a must. read more

Maci did an amazing job. She made me feel so comfortable. She explained every step before she did it. She continually checked on my comfort level. I told her I had dry skin .. older skin and my skin has not stopped flaking and has never been so dry since facial yesterday. Everything she put on my face felt like It was burning,.. I kept thinking ... this will be soothing.... nope. There was too much time that I just laid there with a hot towel on my face that she could have been working on my neck , chests, arms, feet ... she just sat there. Lovely spa, amazing massage by Rose! Found this cute spa in Rexburg. Facility was clean, rooms were nicely equipped and relaxing. Little lounge area had snacks and teas. My massage was out of this world. I love going to spas, especially when I travel, so I have been to tons and had probably more massages then I should, but I love them. Overall this massage was amazing, but 100% the neck and shoulder aspect was by far the best ever that I have experienced. read more

If i could give it 0 stars i would. They used to do conformation calls and remind you about your appointment. I missed mine because i didn't get a conformation and forgot i booked it. When you go it's kinda trial and error with the staff (I mostly mean with the waxing department) I found an amazing lady to do my Brazilian and I'm so glad that I can have someone that's picky about the end product like me! Got there and had to wait longer then I should of, got in the room for my Brazilian..the girl was nice but she did a shitty job. The wax was too hot it was burning me, she missed a lot of spots, which she tried plucking with tweezers. I was there for over an hour and still left with a lot of hair left and in more pain then usual. Would never recommend going there for a wax ever. I'm not going back there, ever. read more

I went in for a brazilian and full leg wax. I will never go back and I don't recommend Sage Day Spa for waxing. Here's the Reader's Digest version of what went wrong: - Improperly painful experience - Esthetician failed to trim hair that was too long to be waxed (ouch!) - Double dipped the wax - Reused the same wax strip an unreasonable amount of times - Didn't press down on the strip sufficiently to prepare for the pull - Didn't hold my skin taut when pulling (ouch!) - The supervisor had me confront the esthetician afterward instead of handling it herself - Didn't offer any compensation for the unpleasant experience or try to keep my future business in any way The longer version: My esthetician was very nice, but didn't trim any of the longer hair before starting to wax. She double dipped the wax and reused the same wax strip way too many times. I understand the need to ration out their supplies and be cost-efficient, but you can only reuse a wax strip one or two times before it starts catching and tugging very sensitive skin. She also did not press very hard when preparing the wax strip before pulling, nor did she hold my skin very taut, leading to an even more painful experience. On top of this, when a wax experience is almost through, the esthetician will usually "clean" the area by placing and pulling a used wax strip repeatedly very quickly to make sure all the hair is removed - this was how she waxed most of my legs, short bursts of reused wax strips. I've never had such a painful experience and I'm no stranger to waxing. It's reasonable to expect waxing to be somewhat painful, but this was so much more painful than any other I've had - ever. I had to ask my esthetician to stop and only do a half leg instead of full because I couldn't handle it anymore. When my waxing was through, I asked if I could pay for just half the price of my originally scheduled full-leg wax, rather than the full price of a half-leg wax because of my experience (which I relayed to her in a whisper so my esthetician wouldn't hear and be offended, I know she didn't mean any harm). The receptionist went in the back to call the boss to confirm if the discount would be ok. When she came back, she also brought my esthetician with her and said, "I'm going to let you two talk while I take care of this other customer." She then left me on my own to awkwardly confront my esthetician who had just spent over an hour with me and tell her the situation, even though I had specifically not brought it up during my session (I didn't feel comfortable correcting her technique, and asking her to stop half way through my full leg wax should have been sufficient). I was so incredibly uncomfortable and stammered out my main concerns with my experience. She was very kind about it, but I felt like I was left to on my own to tell her everything she did wrong and, in a sense, train her. When she left, I told the receptionist I really did not appreciate being ambushed and forced to confront my esthetician who had not meant any harm. It turns out the boss had told the receptionist to bring my esthetician out to speak with me. They then, did not allow the discount I requested (or any kind of incentive to come back again - coupons, samples, etc.). As a customer, I was not responsible for training the esthetician - not my place at all. A boss, manager, or trainer should be the one to correct mistakes, not a customer - especially when it made me so uncomfortable. I was very unhappy with how the situation was managed and will not be returning. read more

I had my eyebrows waxed here- and it was REALLY bad. The girl went over the same spot more than once, making me bleed so much. She tries telling me this is normal and gives me some lotion to put on it... this was over a year ago. I still have a scar, and my doctor said it will never heal completely. When I complained to them all they said was that they'd make a note in their computer that I had sensitive skin.... ridiculous. DO NOT go here. read more

The girl who did my massage was a chatter box so the next time I asked for the male massage therapist and he was much better. The facial I had was bad. The girl stopped in the middle to answer her cell phone and she talked for longer than i would have thought was appropriate. I was shocked at this but I was there because someone got me a gift certificate. After the cell phone call, she seemed to rush me out of there, or maybe this was just in my head? Who knows, but it was ruined. They treat you very nicely and it's clean but the service could be better. read more

My little sister and I went to Sage earlier this week, and the service was absolutely fabulous. This little gem feels like the kind of upscale Day Spa you would find in a big city, with an assortment of complementary beverages, snacks, and lavender neck warmers. The ambiance is calming and friendly, with kind staffers who exude warmth and skill. Yes, Rexburgites, the price is a bit higher than you would find in a basic salon, but the quality is amazing. I went here to get my nails done and they were okay. The lady that did my nails was not very friendly and kept rolling her eyes at me when I told her I wanted my nails shorter. I had my nails done less than a week about and the gel is already chipping and the acrylic is too thick for my liking AND they are too long but I got tired of the girl rolling her eyes at me about it. Unfortunately we did not have a good experience here. Paid for a lash lift and tint and it didn't make any difference at all. While the girl was doing it, she kept telling my daughter how good this was going to look, and how much she would love it. Already knowing that her lashes where thick. Then after it was done and my daughter told her she couldn't tell any difference, the girl said her lashes where actually too thick, and they wouldn't curl. when we reached out to talk to the manager she was never available. I was told she would call me back two times, but she never called back. Every time I would call on my phone the spa would not answer. When I called on a different phone they answered right away. I am upset that they didn't tell her that maybe this wouldn't work. But just did it and then charged full price for the service. Then where unwilling to make good on it. When I tried to find someone to tell them I had somewhere to be after, nobody was around. When I finally did get my nails done they did not even know how to do any designs. I went here to get a manicure and it was absolutely terrible! the atmosphere was great but I do not wish to trade a tranquil place for service. The manicure was supposed to include nail shaping and cuticle care. Where she "shaped my nails" they were not even or straight, and I guess she just forgot about doing my cuticles. I asked for a French and the White polish was all gooey. Normally when I get a French manicure acetone is used to get a smooth line but she just tried to eyeball it and lets just say her shaky hand didn't help. So I told her lets just do a color because it looked terrible! I then picked out another color which was still thick and gooey but not as bad as the white. She polished my nails put so quick dry on them and sent me on my way. No drying machines or anything I took the polish off almost as soon as I got home. I told the receptionist that I was not pleased with the polish and she looked at me like "well what do you want me to do about it". I do not plan on going back there lack of service makes it impossible to relax! read more

I have been going to Sage for over a year. The female therapist who usually does my massages left and I was a bit worried about using a new therapist. The new therapist is fantastic, it just goes to show Sage pays attention to having quality massage therapists on staff. I find the environment soothing and the prices fair. The only thing I don't like about the place is the front desk clerk is never at the front desk, you always have to wait a few minutes while they come from the back. otherwise a great place. read more

I went here for a full leg and bikini wax. I will never go back and I do not recommend it to anyone. The esthetician double dipped in the wax. I didn't feel comfortable enough to tell her I wasn't comfortable with that and thought it probably wouldn't be that big of a deal. Boy was I wrong. I have a rash up and down both of my legs. My bikini line is still very sore 24 hrs later. On top of that she was no where near thorough. About fifty percent of the hair on my thighs is still there. Of course it is all on the back side of my thigh so I didn't notice right away but it is obvious to my husband. On top of all this I have bruising. There were times that she didn't hold the skin very tight and boy did they hurt 10x more than the other strips. Not only that but those are the locations that bruised. My legs look terrible and they aren't smooth. Basically it was the sloppiest job I could possibly imagine, not worth a third of what I paid. read more
