The training in curly hair is fine-tuned to a science. The methods and procedures used are specific and unique to curls and the individual, rather than generic and basic. I've found immense satisfaction and discovered new knowledge about my own hair that I wasn't aware of. The curly hair-trained stylists are informative and describe how and what they do to your hair as to inform the individual on how to care for their own hair. They are inviting and have high hospitality. Quality products aimed at curly hair are found here as well to fit the individual's need. I previously lived in Buffalo, NY where I was fortunate enough to have a salon near me that specializes in curly hair. I was convinced I was not going to be so fortunate when I moved here. After doing a bit of research I was thrilled to find a curly salon does exist here! I had my first appointment today with Kylie and I was impressed. First impression was the salon is fresh and inviting. I had good vibes immediately after walking in. Little did I know the best was yet to come! Not only was Kylie extremely knowledgeable about curly hair, she was very unique in her approach to cutting curly hair. It was fascinating listening to her describe your hair zones. Throughout the appointment she explained what she was doing - and why. Most important, and what came as a surprise, is she genuinely wants to know you! I had my first appointment with Monica and she was awesome! My hair was dry and frizzy and is now soft and moisturized! She really took the time to educate me about my hair type and needs - especially since I'm newer to curly hair (yay hormones!). It was really amazing to have someone that specializes in curls because it requires a different approach than straight hair. The staff here all go through extra training for curly hair. She didn't push product on me, like so many salons do (though I did end up buying some). All the staff members I interacted with were friendly, professional and helpful. The salon was clean and I noticed she took the time to clean/disinfect the sink area after my washing so it would be ready for the next client. First of all I have not been to any salon in almost 6 years so you can imagine my hesitation. I have always struggled with my curls and products that work for me and really didn't have any routine. When I first sat down Kylie just started talking to me and asking me questions about my hair and just about me. I felt really welcome and comfortable about was being done because I was walked through step by step what was going to happen.
