I needed a root canal and was referred to Sage Endodontics. I've never had this type of dental work performed on me before, but I have a vivid memory of my mother crying after she had a root canal some 50 years ago. After reading other reviews that all indicated how quick and relatively pain free this procedure was at Sage Endododontics, and reminding myself I've had two total knee replacements, with months of pain, I assured myself that this wasn't going to be too bad. I was still nervous about it. I shouldn't have been. From the time I called for an appointment to the actual root canal, everything went smoothly. The staff couldn't have been nicer, or the process easier. When I called for the appointment I was told since I had no dental insurance that the cost would be $1700 and that was all inclusive. I arrived early, and was told that the person scheduled before me never showed up, so I was taken earlier than my appointment time. First, they took some x-rays in the chair, and then led me to an adjacent room where they took 360 degree x-rays. I returned to the chair and the assistant put the x-rays on a small illuminated viewer for Dr. Corretjer to review. (They referred to her by her middle name, Dr. Garcia). She came in a few minutes later and looked at the x-rays and asked me if I had any questions. I only had one, "How long will the procedure take?" She said, "About 20 minutes." Amazing! I was offered a blanket, which I accepted, as well as watching Netflix or the HG channel while the procedure was done. I decided just to close my eyes and try to relax while it happened. I was told by the assistant that if I felt any pain to raise my hand, and if I needed them to suction any excess salava to raise my index finger. During the root canal I didn't have either of those things happen. They put what looked like dark sunglasses over my regular glasses and then Dr. Garcia applied some numbing gel to my gums. Then she injected the local anesthetic in 3 spots around the affected tooth. Even the injections were about half the pain I remembered having when I had a crown installed years ago. My root canal only took 20 minutes as predicted by Dr. Garcia. Other than the numbing injections, it was completely painless. When it was done, they took a few more x-rays in the chair, and that was that. I was given a sheet of post operative instructions, and told I could return in a year for a complimentary follow-up exam. I was directed to contact my dentist to have a permanent filling put in within 2-4 weeks. If you need a root canal I highly recommend Sage Endodontics as the place to have it done. I had a bridge put in by my regular dentist about 5 years ago. Said bridge developed an infection and my dentist had recommended this endodontist for consultation and further treatment. I had no weird symptoms or pain except for a bump on my gum. I called Sage the same day I saw my dentist where she noted the bump and they were able to get me in about a week of me calling. They took my insurance information and said they would call me back that Thursday for an estimate of what I will owe after insurance, if we were to proceed with a root canal treatment (I called on a Monday). The appointment was also a consult which could be followed immediately with a treatment if that was the path forward I wanted to take after consultation. They called that Wednesday and told me the totals and I agreed. I went the next week for my visit. The office was very modern, high tech, and clean. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and treated everyone with respect. My first experience with the dentist (Dr. Garcia Corretjer) was okay. She was mostly quiet and direct. Not at all talkative nor friendly which was fine with me. I wasn't there to have a friend. She had x-rays done, I was finishing my antibiotics at the time so when I decided to go with the root canal treatment, she could not finish it, put some medicine on the root of my tooth and temporary filling, and told me to come back on 3 weeks. Also, my tooth apparently rotated as well so it was a bit of a challenge for her to work on it. What I can say though is, I was very worried about cracking the bridge when the drilling happened but Dr. Garcia Corretjer managed to not crack my bridge! Their technology is quite advanced. They use a dental dam while working on your tooth as well. When I returned, the bump was gone and she completed the root canal. She was also much more friendly during my second visit so perhaps my first visit was a one-off thing or maybe it was a really busy day at the office. The office gives out very clear instructions on what to do while I was waiting for my treatment to be completed. I managed to get through the 3 weeks without major incidents or pains or further issues and now that the permanent filling has been completed by my general dentist, life is back to normal again. I definitely appreciate the team for all that they've done to make sure my endodontist experience was as good as a dentist visit can ever be. I have bad anxiety when visiting any dentists but they took great care of me and have helped restore my dental health. read more

I knew going in that I wanted a professional opinion whether root canal or extraction would be more appropriate in my case and was willing to pay the $200+ for required imaging. So I was nonplussed when the doctor asked me which I wanted to do!!! That was very nice, as were all the people involved, but not what I paid/hoped for. read more

Do not use these people! I've been waiting 6 weeks to get in to see them. The day before my appointment they tell me I am out of network. 6 weeks! I provided them with insurance information the first day I called!! My tooth is hurting so bad. I was hoping to get some relief. They should have verified the insurance 6 weeks ago. Now, they tell me it will be more than $300 for a consult and over $1000 if they do any work. What a terrible approach to let someone in pain wait for 6 weeks and ultimately tell them it will cost a fortune to get treatment. And they tell me at the last possible minute!! read more

I was referred to Sage Endodontics for an abscessed tooth. The business is located in a cute strip mall in Town & Country. I had a little trouble finding it. It's in the second floor. When I made the appointment, an employee told me they'd email me a link to some forms to fill out. When I got the login info, it didn't work. I replied to the email and was told to call them to walk through it. I tried again and by resetting the password, I saw that they'd given me the wrong username. It was only off by a little, but a little is a lot. The office is nicely decorated with some art by one doctor's husband and some other nice pieces that I was told are from Target. I saw Dr. Johnny Huynh. He did a great job of explaining everything and showing me where the problem is. He examined my abscess and reviewed my x rays. He said the tooth was unlikely to be saved. Alas, no more visits to Sage Endodontics in my foreseeable future. It's an oral surgeon next. Stay tuned. I recommend Sage Endontics. read more

I needed a root canal and was referred to Dr. Garcia. I am very frightened of dental procedures and I needed a root canal. The office is is very bright and clean. The reception area spotless and following COVID procedures fastidiously. They give you a quote and you pay after the procedure is done. They use state of the art equipment and it was interesting to observe what she was doing. The process was the most gentle and pain free I have ever had. It was amazing. The assistant was very thorough when explaining everything to me. If you need a root canal, this is the place to go. I highly recommend. read more

Dr Johnny was honest about my tooth. He let me know he wasn't positive he could save the tooth. He respected my need for sedation due to previous dental experience. He was extremely professional and so was the staff. The Office looked state of the art. Dr Johnny was able to save the tooth with a root canal. Seemed like it went by in a minute. Had a root canal this week and must say it was the best experience I have had in a health care setting. One example will show you the care you get - as Dr. Garcia was getting ready to start, she re-positioned the TV so that I could continue watching. She sat down and looked up and saw the TV was a bit crooked - and got up without saying a word and adjusted it so it was easier to see. Dr. Garcia and her team are awesome - her assistant was one of the friendliest people you will meet and really cared about me and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. I am a very nervous patient in general, I came to them with a very severe tooth infection that had affected my actual bone structure. Not only did they help me that first day I came in (I was a wreck) they have been overwhelmingly supportive and patient with me as I continue treatment to save my natural tooth. I was referred to Sage Endodontics by my dentist because I was having extreme pain in a molar. They were able to get me in the same day as an emergency visit. The reception staff and assistant were very nice and helpful. Dr Garcia not so much. After X-rays she came in to asses me. I was trying my best to answer her questions but I felt like she was annoyed with me. Like I wasn't be specific enough or truthful. I was definitely anxious and in a lot of pain for sure and I kept apologizing for being jumpy. Dr Garcia didn't seem interested in making me feel at ease. When she went to place this barrier thing in my mouth it caught my lip and started cutting my lower lip into my teeth. I tried motioning that it was hurting and she just explained that was to be expected and she would have fixed it. I caught my breath so she could start over. She just wasn't taking the time to explain what she was doing or putting me at ease. Everyone has a bad day. The staff was nice, but they don't hold the drill. read more

This place is awesome! I first saw Dr. Garcia at my regular dentist's office, as she travels to a few practices a couple of times a month. After my emergency appointment with my dentist, Dr. Garcia got me in for a consultation within 48 hours. She was very knowledgeable and friendly, and did a great job of showing me exactly what my issues were, and how she planned to fix them. After A LOT of back and forth with my dentist's office trying to schedule my appointment for treatment, I received a courtesy call from Dr. Garcia's practice, and they offered me an appointment for the very next day! I was able to fill out my paperwork online prior to arriving, and I was taken back for treatment within 5 minutes of walking in the door (which was honestly kind of a bummer, because the waiting room is BEAUTIFUL, I had gotten really invested in the Property Brothers episode playing on the GIANT TV (I have no shame), and the chair I was sitting in was so comfortable). But, I digress. Again, before treatment, Dr. Garcia was great about explaining what would happen and why! My root canal was as painless as root canals can be :) Dr. Garcia even gave me her personal number, so I could contact her after business hours if I had any problems or pain, which no dentist/doctor/specialist has EVER done for me before! The entire staff is great, from Dr. Garcia's assistant to the coordinator at the front desk. Aside from my follow up, I hope I never have to see an endodontist again, but if I do, I know exactly where I'm going! read more

I recently had to find an Endodontist as I had real bad toothache and my regular dentist told me it looked like a root problem. I called Sage Endodontics on a Monday afternoon and had an appointment the very next day. I was very anxious and in a lot of pain and Dr Garcia and her assistant Rula were wonderful. X-rays were taken and tests done to identify the problem and then I was numbed to make me comfortable. I can honestly say the procedure was done and I felt completely comfortable and pain-free the entire time. I would definitely recommend this office.
