The walk-in sites in general are all amazing, you're secluded from everyone else but still close to the amenities. Site 83 is about a 4-minute walk from where you park your car. There are two tent pads and plenty of space. It's a beautiful site--book it early! The amenities at the campground were great, plenty of places to recycle, fill up water, and throw out trash. The bathrooms are also very nice, but they are some of the busiest bathrooms I've ever seen! There are plenty of hiking trails as well, a great visitor center and gift shop, and it is an all around lovely state park.

I'm not super experienced at camping, but the campsites felt quite close together to me. Compared to other places we've been, the sites are much less private. AMENITIES: 5/5 The amount of water spickets and bathrooms around the site were great, and the showers/main bathroom facilities were nice! STATE PARK: 5/5 We loved walking a bit of the state park over the weekend! The suspension bridge is super cool, and it's really fun to walk on and explore the unique rock formations along the water.

5 STARS We just…read morespent a week at Red Pine and loved it. The club house has very nice bathrooms and the shower is very large as well. There are 3 washers and dryers. The sites were not on top of each others. We had plenty of room. It was gravel for the pad and grass everywhere else. They have a very nice campground picnic area and lots of areas to fish. The canoe and paddle boats are free to use. They have created a lot of trails/grass paths where you can walk/play. The park was quiet. But it was a nice mix of kids, seasonals and short timers. If we camped in the Duluth area we would stay here again.

However, the water in the women's shower (which there is only one of, it made it hard for our girls group of 4 to shower in a timely manner) is so hot you feel scalded on the coolest setting.... They need to turn down the water heater before someone gets seriously hurt. The spots aren't overly large, but the park is quiet! There isn't a lot of shade, but you can sit by the lake at a bench in the shade. And then, there is the elephant in the room, who puts trail cams up on all their trails? This place must be high crime that they need so many. If you need somewhere to stay in a pinch like we did, and you have an RV with a shower, this is a decent place to stay. But, it's not a destination stay.

I'm very disappointed in the ownership of this campground. At least give law-abiding citizens the benefit of the doubt. My husband serves his country as a vetean and first responder. His changing schedule was the reason we were seeking last minute accommodations. We should not be instantly yelled at as "You're trespassing!" as we approached the main office.

The staff went above and beyond, when they showed us to our site they realized to he people next to us had left their dogs unattended (which they weren't supposed to do and they staff had been trying to reach the owners) but the dogs were barking. So they offered to move us. And I think we got a better end of the deal! Not a hookup, but we refunded for the lack of a sewer line. It did t really matter since we're so close to the bathrooms anyway! The campground had a pool, a play ground, and a huge lawn for kids to run around. But I really can't gush enough about the staff! Amazing! WiFi seemed to disappear at night, which was a bummer, but all in all we'd stay here again!

What's going to ruin your time is if you have to talk to any of the employees in their yellow KOA shirts. Seems like they're there to police policies more than anything. If you choose to stay here, good luck to you and yours... do yourself a favor and stay away from the yellow shirts. As for me, my RV, and my extended family, we will not be staying here again... and I will be leaving negative reviews on every platform I use.

The staff is very accommodating if there is an issue. We came here and found out that the camp spot two down had a bunch of dogs barking. They do have a small playground and board game room that is VERY small. But that's fine because you are most likely to be there for camping. But because of all of the closing of public lands and campgrounds I found this place. I paid $ 45 a night to have a site at waters edge and electricity and water. There is a building with men's and women's showers and flush toilets. There are also 2 other men's and women's vault toilets. The vault toilets were pretty full and very smelly but there was plenty of toilet paper and hand sanitizer available. The sites are close together with a fire ring and some have shade. I stayed here in a tent and there were a few ticks and very few mosquitos this early in the season. The host couple seemed nice but I didn't see much of them during my stay. There is firewood for sale at $ 5.00 for a small bundle and t-shirts and hoodies also for sale. There is a huge dumpster for trash and that thing stunk up the campground. This campground isn't for a peaceful and serene camping experience, it is noisy even after the mandated 10 PM to 7 AM quiet time. Late at night there was yelling, ATV's driving around with loud talkers and headlights shining. I kept waiting for the hosts to enforce the quiet time rules listing at the entrance but to no avail. Early in the morning people launching to go fishing were loud talking and firing up boat motors. This place is more for partiers and people who want to fish. It wasn't that clean and the price is high for what you experience. I can't recommend this campground based on my experience.
