Atmosphere: it was great. Laid back and low key just how I like it. Little lamp at the tables, there were a few counters and a full bar. Food: get the homemade pasta bolagnese. The pasta is made from scratch. The Bianca pizza and Margherita pizza slices were top tier and big. Ordering: fast casual which i love!!!! Go order at the counter and they will drop it off at your table.

Once I heard Sagra Italia had opened, I was so excited to try it, especially because they make their lasagna with bechamel instead of ricotta. Unfortunately, when I ordered delivery today they were sold out of the lasagna (it must be that good!), so I got the bolognese and a half caesar salad. The pasta was so good, lots of meat in the bolognese and tons of flavor. The pasta was cooked nicely al dente, even after surviving delivery transit time. Generous portion that had me very full. The half caesar was also a pretty big portion to me, and it came with a huge cup of dressing, which I appreciated. The croutons were my favorite part, so crispy! Overall I really enjoyed my meal and I hope to stop in for dine-in soon to try the lasagna!

I've heard a lot of buzz for Sagra and was excited to stop in on a Saturday afternoon. We were easily able to find street parking. The space is quite large with plenty of seating (including bar side) and an area with local goods for sale. The concept is explained well with signs making it clear that you go up to the counter order and then your food is brought out to you. The ordering process is easy and the turn around time for our food was quite quick. We ordered a few plates to share between our party of 5 including the meatball, apulia cutlet sandwich, and vodka cream pasta with chicken. The food was very good. I enjoyed the flavor of the meatball, the foccia bread cutlet sandwich, and the delicious flavor of the vodka sauce. The sandwich was tasty but the sautéed rapini added flavor to the sandwich which didn't work well for me combined with the other ingredients. I enjoyed it more taking off the rapini and eating it on the side. Overall, very happy with our visit and would like to try a different sandwich, as well as one of the homemade pasta's next time.

Wish I could give 7 stars. We got three dishes for take out. Place is so cute and the food was ready and hot. Everyone was really nice. The family that owns it are fantastic people. And the food. The lasagna bolognese is now one of my favorite dishes ever. Perfection. The bechamel sauce on top throws this to the stratosphere. And the la Bianca pizza was so unique with the lemon ricotta. The focaccia crust was perfect. We also had the pasta al Limone. Good but not as amazing as the first two. Can't wait to go back

Cute casual Italian restaurant. It is counter service but they bring your meals out to you. I ordered the Marinara pasta as the noodles were handmade which really ups the taste and quality of the meal. My friend ordered the vodka pasta which was creamy and also delicious. The Bellini was okay, I think I might have grown out of my taste for champagne though. I preferred the margharita to the mushroom pizza but appreciated that you could order by the slice!

Brand new place just opened couple months ago. Nice cozy dimly lit atmosphere. However it was a little cold inside. Not much parking I'm aware of but found a spot on the street fairly easily on a Saturday night around 530. When you first walk in to the right there are couches for waiting area if needed. They have signs right up the stairs with how they operate. See pics. The seating has two long high top bar seating towards the back and a few extra tables to sit. There are about 4 tables that seat 4 or 5 the other tables are two seater tables could be three After we found a table we put our coats down and went to the counter to order. Got the fried artichokes for an app and entree was the shellfish pasta. The bf got the bolognese pasta. All very good and flavorful. The shellfish one was a little watery though unless it was suppose to be. After we ate they have instruction where to put the dishes on the way out. Love the different upscale style. I'll be back

Main dining area. Self seating and order at the bar.

Went to Sagra last night. It just opened this week and is owned by the owner of Tapas and is right near it on St. Paul. It looks elegant but the serving style is more casual. It's not full-service. You order and they bring your food when it's ready. They have a full bar and a smaller food menu with many great things on it. The menu doesn't feel overwhelming. Everything is made in house including the focaccia and pasta and it's the best food I've had in ROC in quite a while. Everything tastes so fresh. They have focaccia sandwiches, pizza, the best Caesar salad ever, and fresh made pasta dishes. But they have like 4 in each category so it's not overwhelming and I love it! You can add things on to the existing dishes. I'm officially hooked.

    Side meatball, definitely tastey!

Ambiance was awesome, ok parking if you can find street parking. A bit disorganized and long food wait but it was saturday nite. You order and they bring it to your table or bar, find a space first it's small. Salad was amazing delish, lasagna was sold out so didn't get to try, said meatball for the win for sure! Ended up with Focaccia pizza, was Ok, light fluffy but lacking toppings we paid extra for, and was so hugely we let it go but the cold mushrooms in a hot pizza made me sad, heated up the next day in air fryer and was good. I'd go with pasta or focaccia sandwich , those looked amazing.

I love this place. It's such a homey feel. Homemade bread homemade pasta full bar. You can hang out and watch the game. They want to try to build a local community in the downtown area. Second time I've been there. No weight staff you go up to the counter you order your food affordable. You could have cappuccino if you wanna go with the group there's no Get there early to hold the table. Next time I'm going back to try the pasta. I enjoy the atmosphere delicious.

You need to know the secret to getting past the gatekeeper as this is a speakeasy setting. (Figure it out on your own, that's half the fun)!!! Once inside there was a smooth jazz group performing. The music was a lovely backdrop to the setting and not overwhelmingly loud that I would be screaming to be heard. You can have a normal level conversation and still enjoy the music. There were comfortable cushioned chairs with pub sized tables for seating. We sat at the bar as all table s were taken. The energetic bartenders filled up in on all the idiosyncrasies of the place and happily answered all of our many questions. They told us that it was quiet for a Thursday night and that the weekends were much larger crowds which would not appeal to me as I'm not looking for a club scene atmosphere. I was happily comfortable. The drinks are creative and include interesting combinations of ingredients. We shared three appetizers, the sliders (my favorite), spring rolls (the side sauce was great), and the tacos with a tasty crema drizzled over them. The staff let us tour the dining room, basically a Ramon Santiago gallery. (The angel was my favorite). We went to see the ballroom as well as I had attended a wedding there 37 years ago while it was still the University Club!!! It was the same lovely room I remember and brought back wonderful memories. My friend was staying there while she is having some work done at her home so got to see the guest room she was in. As expected from a historic building large windows overlooking downtown Rochester, a gas fireplace, and soaker tub. Beautiful space. Some logistic issues with heat and fan not working so this was her second room that hopefully the new owner will address. We ran into their new executive chef and they have done a great job in hiring him. He told us about future ideas they have for putting their thumb print on things and they sound quite exciting. I thanked him for the time he spent speaking with us and appreciated his enthusiasm and forward thinking. All in all a most enjoyable time at the Inn and would recommend a visit by anyone of any age. So glad we have a community that cares for its historic buildings and their importance to our identity

Vanni's is located in The Inn on Broadway and upon entering you will see an elegantly decorated lobby; walk down the stair to find a book case which may contain a secret entrance to the lounge. I don't want to spoil the gimmick, but it's very charming and our group had fun with this detail. The lounge is spacious with a select amount of table seating and couches. We chose the bar in case the music was loud. The decor and lighting helped make for an immersive setting. The design features stood out and we loved the look of the lounge. The performers we saw were enjoyable, though we were hoping for something a little more lively. I ordered The University Club cocktail. The drink was delicious and picture perfect. The bartenders made us feel at ease and were fun to chat with. We didn't try any of the small plates on our visit, but this is an option. Plenty of free parking is available. If you want to have a unique night out in Rochester give Vanni's a try.

A little dark and claustrophobic, but the front back area looks and feels more inviting. For appetizers, we ordered the tiradito, shrimp empanadas, oysters and bread with miso butter. I got the pork chop and my got the bolognese The tiradito was my favorite appetizer and it was also the most beautifully plated dish of the night. The rest of the appetizers were just okay. There's probably only ~20-30 seats in the back room, with a dark gray/green interior and golden accents (nice!). The bar looked beautiful as well, and I really liked the organic look of their appetizer plates. Steak Frite: Beef tartare on a deep fried potato piece. The potato feels like it's been mashed and reconstructed, so the exterior is nice and crisp while the inside is tender and smooth. The tartare was wonderfully acidic and flavorful However, the proportions felt off--the potato was too big and it felt more like Frites + steak rather than the other way around, the tartare wasn't really allowed to shine. Grilled fish: The fish today was black cod, with a Portuguese soup and potatoes. The fish disintegrated in my mouth, that's how soft it was! But...IT WAS HELLA SALTY!! I think it was a combo of the soup and the fish skin, but I couldn't finish the meal because of how salty it was :( Shrimp ragu: Pasta and shrimp, with a surprising amount of acidity. Pasta was al dente, which was nice. Was it worth the price? No, we could have made the same meal at home for four people for about $20 total. Coquito flan: Flan with granola served with a shot of coquito. Very rich, I don't think I have any critique on the flan as it was a very solid, Latin American-inspired flan. Did we just catch them on an off day? Unsure, but I can't in good conscious give an amazing rating.
