I only got a picture of my martini and one of our chicken and cotija empanadas... that tells you everything you need to know about how good this place was! I got their linguine special with clam and pancetta, and my partner got the halibut special. Both were seasoned wonderfully and we practically devoured it. Even better than the food is the service! Kelly was very inviting, knowledgeable about the menu, and made our experience pleasant. Plus, it's in an old bank! What a cool vibe! This place is 100% worth a try if you want something fun, different and flavorful. Definitely recommend.

Came here for a private event happy hour. The bartenders were so attentive and helpful with drink selections. The other staff was also very friendly and our appetizers were brought out very timely. I cannot speak on the dinner options but I will be back to try more of the menu.

I came in with 3 girlfriends on a Saturday night and this place was packed! Definitely make a reservation if you can. We were quickly seated and greeted by our awesome server. I will say I felt bad for how loud he had to talk due to the acoustics of the building. We started off with a raw tuna special, french fries and scallops. Each dish was SO good. Seriously, I couldn't stop saying mmm with every bite. The scallops were like butter, melting in my mouth with a perfect crispy edge. The fries were really good with the 3 dipping sauces and the tuna was top notch. I ordered the steak and frites for my main. $40 but it came with a nice 12oz NY strip and a mound of fries. I saved the dipping sauces from the fry appetizer too. The steak was literally cooked perfectly and I ate every last bite. No steak sauce needed for that dish. It was a pricey meal, $239 (without tip) for the 4 of us with apps, meals and drinks but SO worth it. 10/10.

My husband and I ate here for the first time today for Sunday brunch. The atmosphere is really cool, showing some original charm of the building that was once a bank. The large windows allow for tons of natural light, giving it a bright feel. The menu has lots of elevated American style food. We were greeted by our waiters who were very nice and gave great recommendations. I ordered an espresso martini first. I am sad to say I was displeased with the drink and was unable to finish it. Normally, espresso martinis I have drank in the past have some milk in them and it is a bit sweeter. This drink had only the bitterness of the espresso and a strong alcohol flavor that do not taste good together. The orange juice, however, was very good. For starters, we had potatoes and fried chicken sliders. The potatoes were delicious with a great chipotle mayo drizzled on top. The friend chicken sliders were the highlight of the meal for me. They were fresh with the perfect amount of moisture and crunch. My main entree was very underwhelming. I ordered the chicken fried steak. The sauce had a very sweet flavor that was unexpected and the breading in the steak was so salty I was unable to finish it. The scrambled eggs I ordered with it were good. Overall, we plan to revisit this restaurant to try other menu items that looked good.

The lavender liquity & monkey business - both good !

Service was great! Food came out sooo fast. Drinks were great! Decor & ambience- fabulous. My notes for anyone coming. The Portions are small. If your man/lady eats a lot - don't bring them here hungry. This is great for small bites and having a few drinks. We got 4 small bites & 2 drink and the bill plus tip was over $100 and now we're on the way to get my husband second dinner.

Was so looking forward to this restaurant. Located conveniently in the village of fairport right by the canal. Walked into a large open area with high ceilings. Very loud and voices echoed throughout. A long bar stretched across the length of the wall with plenty of bar stools. The seating near the bar is cramped very close to your neighbor. Small square tables, booths on one side and chairs across. It was a birthday celebration dinner. The waiter came and he was very expressionless. I like the outgoing welcoming warm hello, this was not the case. The food presentation was very beautiful, however the portions for the price were not. The sea bass was under cooked. The noise level was so high that we could barely hear each other across the table. I can't recommend this restaurant based on the staff, prices, and uncomfortable volume. I was expecting more of a Bonnie and Clyde atmosphere. There is one table in a vault, but other than that the decor is sterile. They did not offer anything for the birthday guy.

Beef carpaccio, dry-aged tuna, pork shoulder, something crunchy-yummy

Bonnie and Clyde has already proved itself to be a gem of the Rochester area. The food is crafted with an attention to detail, flavor, and plating. None of the dishes were overwrought with an overabundance of elements. Rather each plate was precise and pleasing visually. Recommended for lovers of Noble Cellar. The serving staff was considerate and cordial. I would go back anytime. They're doing things right here.

I made reservations for my anniversary and it was perfect. From the moment we were greeted, we were wished a happy anniversary. The chef is trained in Spaniard cuisine so the plates are small but perfect as it allowed us to try a little of everything! There's upstairs seating for a more intimate dinner too. The high ceilings and decors are gorgeous.

When visiting my hometown of Rochester, NY, it is essential to experience its new culinary scene. When I heard Jodi and Greg Johnson were opening a new restaurant, I put it on my list of things to do. The reservation process was easy. I made ours several weeks in advance, understanding that it is a new restaurant, and chances are, it would be hard to get a table. I was glad that I did. Even though it was a holiday weekend, the restaurant was bustling. We were greeted by three gracious young women who took our names in the unique space. We were a bit early, and though our table was ready, we could grab a drink at the bar. The sleek, modern lines of the bar made the flow of guests to the bartenders easy. I could immediately tell there was thought behind how the bar was set up to accommodate the steady stream of people ordering drinks. The bartenders were giving personal attention to each of the guests. We ordered drinks from the curated cocktail menu - "The Teller" is a beautifully balanced cocktail, with Evan Williams Bonded Bourbon providing a rich backbone complemented by the soft sweetness of honey and Giffard Apricot Liqueur. Bright lemon and earthy molasses bitters tie it all together for a smooth, layered sip that's both refreshing and deeply satisfying, and the "Monkey Business" is a tropical delight, blending Ten To One White Rum with caramelized banana, coconut, pineapple, and lemon for a rich yet refreshingly bright flavor. It's smooth, playful, and captures the perfect island vibe in every sip. While waiting for our drinks, we could admire the sleek lines of this restored bank, with its modern touches and nods to days gone by. The former bank president's office was converted to overlook the downstairs floor of the restaurant, and the bank's vault offers a unique spot to host a larger gathering. Everything was thoughtful and tasteful, including the glassware, napkins, plates, and table settings--just as we have come to expect from a Jodi Johnson-created restaurant. Once seated, we were greeted by our server, Hannah, who was exceptionally attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm throughout the meal. She made the entire experience feel seamless and memorable. Owner and Executive Chef Greg Johnson and his staff delight a culinary foodie like us with this cultivated menu. We decided to enjoy the small plate experience this time -The Lobster Croquettes are crisp and delicate outside, with a rich, buttery lobster filling that melts in your mouth. Paired with the vibrant curry aioli, each bite perfectly balances savory, creamy, and lightly spiced flavors. Jodi sent us over The Olive All'Ascolana, a perfect bite--briny Castelvetrano olives stuffed with flavorful Italian sausage and parmesan, then crisped to golden perfection. Each bite is rich, salty, and satisfyingly indulgent, making it an irresistible starter. Our small plates were The Sea Scallops, which are seared to perfection, tender and sweet, beautifully complemented by a rich panang curry and crisp bok choy. The cilantro-parsley oil adds a fresh, herbaceous finish that combines the dish with vibrant, balanced flavors. The star of the night for us was the Grilled Octopus, which is tender and smoky. It was paired perfectly with creamy chickpea purée and rich, twice-cooked eggplant. A drizzle of mint oil added a bright, refreshing finish that lifted every bite. The pace of our meal was perfect, with each dish coming individually so we could savor each one. We could order and experience more cocktails before deciding on a dessert. The crème brûlée was luxuriously creamy with a rich vanilla custard base, perfectly contrasted by a crisp, caramelized sugar crust. Each spoonful cracked beautifully and melted in the mouth, offering a satisfying balance of textures and sweetness, which was plenty for two. Greg and Jodi Johnson lovingly own and operate Bonnie and Clyde. Jodi is the heart of the restaurant, greeting every guest with warmth that instantly makes the space feel like home. Her genuine care and attention to detail create a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels like they're dining at her own table. Greg brings a masterful touch to every dish, blending innovation with classic flavors to create a memorable dining experience. Their passion for making a culinary event is evident in each plate, cocktail, decor, and smile from the staff.

So a couple of friends and I decided to check out Bonnie and Clyde to see what the hype was about for this place. For one, there are no signs outside of the restaurant that say "Bonnie and Clyde". No signs of any kind at all to suggest a restaurant is there. I only knew where I was going because I used to bank at the location when my former bank was there (and I knew Bonnie and Clyde is in the bank building). At least invest in a sign. I think that's important for people to be able to find you. Anyway, the ambiance is ok. It's kind of loud in there but nothing unbearable and I was still able to talk to my friends without having to yell. Riesling selection could use some work. Espresso martini- DELICIOUS!! Now for the food, quite a disappointment. The lobster croquette was all potatoes. No lobster (nor the taste of lobster) anywhere in site. The chicken empanadas were good. The fois gras was definitely not good. Especially with the sweet jam component. It just didn't go well together. For entrees, there were some redemptions. The steak- give me more!!!! Delicious and not chewy at all. It almost melted in my mouth. I would go back only for the steak honestly. The Amish chicken was also good and juicy. Their bolognese though... maybe a touch on the dry side. Just a touch though. I love a good bolognese but this one was just ok. Now for the desserts.... Such a disappointment. The chocolate cake they had was so bitter tasting almost as though they used super dark chocolate and forgot to add some sugar to the batter to balance the bitterness out. It looked so good but definitely didn't have the taste to back it up. We did have the lemon chiffon cheesecake which was ok. Bonnie and Clyde is good for a nice hang out at the bar and grabbing a couple of drinks. But they can definitely use some more work on the food. But, the STEAK- don't change that! I'm going back just for that. Lol.

You need a reservation to visit The Blind Pig; only open on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. The…read morereservations were available a month in advance so I was eagerly waiting for our visit. Reservations can be hard to come by and go quickly. I found information on reservations from The DeLand House on Main Facebook page. When you arrive the entrance is tucked away on the side. There was an employee at the door who greeted us and asked for our reservation name. He then asked us for the password which I did not remember. Thankfully he gave us a hint. The experience of getting to the bar area is very fun. As this is a speakeasy the entrance is hidden in plain sight. You must go up a flight of stairs, down a hallway, and from there you'll need to find a certain button to reveal an additional flight of stairs. We really enjoyed the spectacle of this part. We got to the bar area and were surprised by how packed it was. We had a table with a view next to a lovely window seat (great photo opportunity) The decor is fun and inviting. We also enjoyed the beautiful plates and silverware. Service was wonderful. Every employee we encountered was engaging and we felt they made effort to make the experience special. Food and drinks were enjoyable. The signature cocktails are 15 dollars a piece. Beer (canned) and wine is also available. I ordered the corpse reviver no 2. Cocktail. Lightly sweet and fruity. The menu offers a variety of small plates. We tried the chicken meatballs, whipped mozzarella & balsamic tomatoes, and lemon creme profiteroles. Everything was tasty but nothing mind blowing. My favorite were the lemon creme profiteroles which featured a triple berry coulis. The flavors were refreshing and summery. The seating area did have some cool air flow through from time to time but after being up there for a bit we started to feel warm. Overall, The Blind Pig is a very fun and unique experience. One of a kind for this area and makes for a fun night out.

We really enjoyed our first experience at the Blind Pig (and we will be returning in March with…read morefriends). The experience is indeed novel. We enjoyed the setting (we secured a couch) for the two of us. The drinks were very good, although at least the first one I had was a bit small (more in the second). Really enjoyed the combinations. And it'snice that they have non-alcoholic versions for those who prefer that. The small bites, in my opinion were outstanding, and we sampled everything we could (except the peanuts). It's not quite a full meal, however, even after sharing 5 of the offerings so we went elsewhere afterwards for a bit more. I do like that they let you linger and don't push you, though we were out in about an hour and a half. For 2 (three cocktails, 1 glass of wine, 5 small plates, $103.72 + 20% tip, $124.46. I would recommend that everyone try this at least once (though I'm unsure if it is accessible for those with mobility issues. A lot of stairs in an old building. Finally, I commend the owners for all that they are doing at the Deland House. Lots of innovative project and a fascinating place for weddings and banquets. Though I do miss the ol' Mr. Dominic's.

I was visiting my friend for the weekend and she never stopped talking about all the great reviews…read morethey received and she'd been wanting to go so of course we had to add this to my visit. There was street parking available in front of the restaurant and on either side of the street. When we walked in the first thing I noticed was the decor. Everything was beautifully decorated and so welcoming. The bar was to the right and the host stand a little further up. I didn't get a picture when we walked in but there was the cutest orange stand and a sign with an arrow pointing to the host stand. They had live music that night and it was pretty busy. Once we were seated we did wait for some time before someone came to greet us but the person that sat us did bring us water. When someone came over they were very apologetic for the wait and let us know there may be a little delay with the food but was very proactive with making drink recommendations and took our food order before leaving the table. Our drinks were delicious! I got the coconut lime margarita and it was so flavorful. My friend got the espresso martini and she said it was so good. We enjoyed the music while we waited and all of the waitresses would check on us anytime they walked by. We ordered a second round of drinks and I got the pistachio martini and my friend got the crème brûlée martini and both were great. I really like this restaurant because they offer small plates so my friend and I picked a few we both wanted to try. We got the stuffed gnocchi flight, arancini classico, and ahi tuna martini. All 3 were 10/10 on the taste scale. My favorite of the gnocchi flight is the one with pesto. The arancini was so tasty and the sauce that came with them was a perfect pairing. The cilantro crema on the ahi tuna martini was the star of the dish. Overall, this was an incredible dining experience and I'd love to come again to try some items from their dessert menu and on a night with no live music.

Love to see unique places open up in Rochester, so had to try this new-ish piano bar when I heard…read moreof it. Check their website for when pianists will be playing. They also have a surprisingly large food menu, but we just had cocktails and dessert. Drinks were just OK, but the desserts were great! Definitely recommend the chocolate raspberry cake. My only critique is that the table arrangement is setup more like a restaurant than a lounge and the decor is a bit random. If they made it feel a bit more loungey, I think it would improve the overall vibe.
