I thought that this place cared but clearly they do not. I waited a week for something to come back. They never communicated with me during that week. Oh they also said I'm going in for a surgery? Yeah no surgery that I know of. So I am cutting ties with this place due to their lack of care and communication. 300 dollars to be sedated for 20 ish minutes. Just done. To clarify I was getting injections at this place and last year it was reasonable at 200 dollars. I know insurance changes etc. But 300 dollars for 20 minutes of sedation just seems extreme. Also, they did not even seem to care about withdrawals. I honestly thought this place cared about me and my health but with their lack of communication and setting me up for surgeries that I wasn't even privy to just sounds bad in my head. read more

My recent visit to the pain management doctor's office left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. I had initially hoped to find relief for my upper spine pain through an epidural shot, but what I encountered was an experience that lacked professionalism and personal care. To start, my first epidural shot appeared to have a partial effect, relieving only about 50% of my pain which is common and wasn't my issue. Consequently, the doctor recommended a second shot. On the day of the second procedure, I was taken aback when the doctor asked, "Is this your first time getting a shot?" I was laying face down on the table so I do understand that he likely did not see my fave, however, It was evident that he had no recollection of our previous encounter or my medical history. Shouldn't it be customary to look at a patience chart and your my previous treatments before you do a procedure on a patient? This might have been just another epidural for the day, but for me, this has been a huge point of contention and nervousness in my life.This made me feel like just another faceless patient in a revolving door of appointments. The sense of being treated like a mere number was further exacerbated during my follow-up appointment, which was scheduled as a virtual visit. I patiently waited for 15 minutes past the scheduled time, only to receive a call from the office stating that the doctor had gotten backed up and couldn't make it. This left me feeling ignored and undervalued as a patient, as if my time and concerns were of little importance. I called the office and asked them to text me to schedule the next appt as I was running to a business meeting. They did text me, however, by that point I was so frustrated with my experience I vowed not to go back and connect with the original Clinic my MD referred me to. Interesting, to date, no one has called me to ask if I was ok, apologize for missing my appointment, etc. I'm flabbergasted. The overall experience at this pain management doctor's office was nothing short of unprofessional and disheartening. It was painfully evident that the clinic prioritizes quantity over quality when it comes to patient care. The lack of personalized attention, coupled with the doctor's apparent unfamiliarity with my case, left me with little confidence in the treatment I was receiving. I had a great experience with Dr. Derian and his staff at Saguaro Pain Clinic. From the initial interaction with the Medical Assistant (MA) to Dr. Derian and the present medical students he loves to teach, I received the upmost care. The MA was excellent at her job with no hiccups drawing blood. She was such a pleasant young adult who shared concern about my well being all along the way. Dr. Derian then took me back for the procedure and was not only professional, but was warm and kind, setting me at ease about what I could expect during the injections. Even his medical students were kind as they chatted with me, which reveals Dr. Derian's efforts to make his office an inviting atmosphere, making it a wonderful place to seek help for pain. Lastly and most importantly, his treatments are working! My leg days in the gym are enjoyable again because my knees are really improving!
