Amazing vibes beautiful people awesome music. No better place to get the best music local and International artists in Austin. I love this place can't stay away too long

I enjoyed returning to Sahara Lounge after being away for a while. Such a nice crowd, delicious and creative drinks - including several non alcohol options - friendly staff and GREAT music. This is truly one of Austin's semi-hidden gems.

Dress up, dress down, sparkle! ALL are welcome here!

I don't go out much at night, but one NOTABLE EXCEPTION is that I go REGULARLY to Ladies Night (3rd Fridays) whenever I'm in town. This is THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH! Seriously! One night dancing here is better than a day at Disney! ;) EVERYONE is smiling & dancing to the GROOVE that the DJs are playing (70s & 80s disco, funk & soul). EVERY gender, age, race, etc etc are there & having fun! There's a big outdoor area, too, with a food truck, too cool off (it does get WARM inside, so dress LIGHT!) When u go, chances are I'm up near the front dancing by the stage (or ON IT!) COME JOIN THE FUN!! ALL ARE TRULY WELCOME HERE!

I'm not sure why this place isn't a 5. It's a 5 in my book! This is off the beaten path in Austin which makes me love it even more. Love a hidden gem! We went on a Saturday night and the cover was $12 cash for $13 card. The cover included a buffet and not one but TWO live bands! The buffet was showing up! They had an African beef stew, rice, and a vegan bean soup. The food had so much depth in flavor and you knew it was cooking all day. The love! The bands were bringing the sass. The first was a Latin band and the second was an African band. When I tell you I danced 5+ miles according to my Fitbit. It was a vibe all night long. Speaking of vibes - this place is grunge in the best way! It reminds me of a Midwest garage from 1990s. All the twinkle lights. They had fun NA options albeit expensive for no alcohol. I'll be back! I will absolutely be back.

Let's be real- this is an Austin treasure but it's also mad sketchy. Sahara Lounge is a cool hang out spot it is a whole vibe. But at the same time, Sahara Lounge doesn't seem to be super well maintained by ownership. This isn't a pristine high end bar/ club but it is a great spot for a night out.

I wish this place had better sound. But... the energy is off the scale! Wonderful place to hang out and be healed through the music.

Fantastic... diverse crowd, decent drinks, a buffet on Saturday, fire pit in the back, a big parking lot, blues and samba.

Once we walked through Manny's, we were greeted right away and since we had a reservation, we were seated promptly. Quick heads up: cell phones aren't allowed inside -- they take your phone and give you a key to a locker where it's stored for the night. The idea is to keep everyone present and engaged with each other instead of their screens (they do make exceptions for emergencies or on-call situations, at the business's discretion). I actually love the reasoning behind it, even though I wished I had my phone to snap pictures of the inside! The space itself is dark and moody with major art deco Miami vibes, like something out of the 80s-90s. Think pink velvet draped everywhere, a life-size taxidermy leopard in the middle of the bar, and flamingo sculptures scattered throughout. It's gorgeous. There's plenty of seating between the booths/couches and the bar, and they seat you according to your party size. We got a plush half-circle booth with a table that fit all of us perfectly -- great sightlines too, so everyone could see and talk to each other easily. Each table gets an assigned server, and ours was fantastic. We ordered cocktails along with the yuca fries, empanadas, and quesadillas -- all delicious. I can't remember the name of my cocktail, but it was pink, gin-based, and so good, served in a beautiful tall stem glass. Loved everything about this place and will absolutely be back next time I'm in town!

The guy at the front was very nice, but as soon as we get to the "receptionist" the entire narrative changed. She looked my girlfriend and I up and down and then proceeded to tap multiple times on her IPad. She then says, "you know it's 1:30? we close at 2. we only have standing room." She had the most miserable scowl on her face. My girlfriend and I were dressed very nicely (pants & jacket, and a dress), so I know this was not a outfit issue. I do not know what her issue was, but if you are tired and don't like staying up late, don't work in a bar. After saying that there was only standing room, I decided that I was not going to spend money in an establishment that speaks to people in such a disgusting way, so I proceeded to leave. One of the guys out front asked what was wrong and asked if he could buy us a drink, but at that point I decided that I would not spend a dime at this place. Just giving a heads up! Lady at the front is EXTREMELY rude. She should not have her job, and looking at the other 1 star reviews, it looks like this place has a reputation for being discriminatory.

Well, we didn't have a reservation and we were able to get sat right away. I forget the name of the individual who assisted us by placing our order. I ended up getting the espresso martini, and then my other person got an old-fashioned. I was asked if I wanted a shot of Bailey's with the espresso martini and that to me would've been way too much. The martini itself was almost kind of smoky. Not your typical kind of very crisp espresso martini had a nice foam on top of it. We also ended up ordering the sliders to go along as we had dinner reservations, and that bacon jam on there is magnificent. The sliders were all juicy and very well put together bun was very soft and the flavor of everything was really good. I would totally go back just for the sliders. Overall the service was great. The views were also quite stunning of downtown and the ambience overall which is very chill. I enjoyed my drink as well (5th Floor Cooldown) once we added the extra sweetener we requested. Without it, I wasn't a huge fan (wasn't sweet, despite being told that it was). Valet parking is only $15 (for 2 hours) with validation. I appreciated that, as it made parking not a headache.

It was served in a flaming skull, garnished with beautiful flowers and fresh fruit, and filled to the brim with God knows how much alcohol and juice, but it was a time!
