Interesting - this place gets high stars a lot yet I have been here 3 times - first time they didn't speak to me at all only to other employees and the job they did on my nails was fair - 2nd time I asked fir a lady - she seemed nice at first but then was tapping my hands so much I told her to please stop and she said you no relax - to which I said I am very relaxed until to hit my veins with your fingers , nails started breaking within 2 days - too thin ... 3 rd and final time - this lady sits down I tell her what I want and she is very slow ( I am stuck there over 2 hrs) she does a few tips and then complains my nails r too short I said you put tops on you made them that short - then she is tapping my hands bc at this point I am possibly getting stressed so I tell her to stop tapping my hand and she says you not relax - I say maybe it's bc you keep complaining - then she says ' what wrong with your nail here' and points I said what do u mean wrong ? He says it crooked what wrong with u hand , I said it was born that way , then I ask her to do a darker color and she gets closer and whispers that for black people, I said really ? For black people ? I said I am fair skinned but 1/2 AA so maybe she should think before she speaks . My problem is that I am the customer , I am paying then to go a job - behaving like a child and smacking my hand , trying to embarrass me about a crooked finger and then being weird about black ppl is just rude plain n simple - and then complaining she can't do good on nails bc it's too short which was her fault to begin with well they just do not deserve my money / this is the girl that hums the whole time she works on you so if you get her you will know - run don't walk away from this chick read more

I've given them two tries for a decent pedicure, and I've been sorely disappointed both times. The nail techs I've had we're unfriendly and not exactly helpful. I tried to direct her to get the extra rough spot on my ankle, pointing it out to her, still there after I was done. My nails are unevenly shaped/clipped and the polish isn't applied well either. So why do I give 3 stars? Their massage chairs are actually really great. But the pedicures are not worth it. read more

My wife and I got a babysitter and came in together to get pedicures. They sat us in the chairs right away and 20 minutes later started working on my feet. We assumed that someone would be by to start on her. 45 minutes later, I was done and she was still waiting despite her asking what was going on. We had to go and everyone working there acted surprised that we didn't want to wait when we were leaving. Poor communication and lots of employees standing around when they could have helped us. **They want to make it right**I had a bad experience having my nails done at Sahara only to have dissatisfaction continue as the gel manicure began to peel off within the week. I went back to share my experience and was met with pure kindness and apology. The employee who did my manicure was new and quit after 4 days. They gave me a new manicure free of charge. PHIL did an excellent job and was professional! Sitting beside me were two regulars; one has been going to Sahara for over 8 years! Both ladies went on to share how surprised they were of my bad experience for they have only had good service and results. read more

Went for a pedicure/manicure today. I got a nail tech that spoke very little English. She beat my legs with her fist and I'm on meds that causes bruising and I could not make her understand to STOP! Finally the manager came over and told her to stop. He was nice and friendly but after the lady had brought me to tears...he offered to do my manicure. My daughter and I have our nails and feet done here on a regular basis and both agree that it's the best place we've ever tried. I always get compliments on my nails! My daughter used to work as a nail tech, so is a very discerning customer. They do a fantastic job with acrylics (the best I've ever had and that includes my previous excellent salon in D.C.) - thin enough you can pick up a coin or pin, yet totally sturdy. I was in town for the weekend and chipped my polish. I found this salon here on Yelp and it was close to my hotel. Wow, I wish I had this at home! Their set-up is different from most nail salons, and I really liked it. I wish that I had gotten the girls name so I could share it with you, she was great! I had wine while my shellac soaked off. I love how she shaped my nails and I really appreciated the fact that she checked the underside of my nails while she was filing to make sure that they were even. She suggested glitter on two nails to go with my polish. Super cute! And a hand and shoulder massage. Honestly, the shoulder massage alone was worth the trip. I was very pleased, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They are up to date on all the latest techniques. Michelle did my nails and I am very happy with them. The salon is very clean and inviting. I was asked twice if I needed anything to drink. I will defitinly be going back for my fills. I love Sahara normally and I would never write a bad review unless I had really bad service. This man that did my nails got mad since I accidentally spilled the water for your nails and would not give me a clean towel for awhile to make me feel bad. Then, he complained about my nails, told me I had never been to get my nails done when I had, and didn't clean my nails like he was supposed to, or add 2 coats to my gel manicure. If I do go back, I will ask for someone else. It is just disappointing since everyone else is doing a good job, and I do think it is really a great place. I have been going here for over 6 years now! Adam, and Bea are the owners. They both do a wonderful job on pink and white nails, which is what I get. About 8 times a year I also get a pedi. I can relax there! They will give you a drink, wine, water, soda, if you want. They speak very good English and most of the staff do as well. They will talk if you want, or let you relax if you don't. :) Their nails last forever and it is a rare one that breaks! In all that time I have never had a problem with infection, pain, or anything negative. I think they are the best! read more

Dip powder nails-- I had been going to another salon where I was unhappy with the service and results. Tried Sahara and so glad I did! My nails are going on 5 weeks and still look good. At the other place after 3 weeks the color would chip and lift, not these! Not only that, Sahara told me the other salon was "cutting corners " in the process which could have damaged my nails!! I'm so glad to have found this place! I was in and out quickly, parking is easy, love the location & hours, proper steps for the process was taken and staff very friendly! Horrible, horrible experience. Worst ever. I went to have my acrylics taken off my nails dipped and a pedicure. I never got passed the pedicure. I sat with a bowl of acetone of some kind on my knee the entire time I was having my pedicure which totally detracted from any spa experience. I was also told to scrap the acrylic nail off myself with my fingers which as you can imagine was immense fun. My hand were horribly dry and sticky my nails were horrible. Then they had the gaul to charge me $47 for the pedicure and nail removal which I did. I paid and couldn't get out of there fast enough. If you're up for a painful experience do go there otherwise STAY AWAY. The one star was for the pedicure which was ok but not really a $37 experience they have plastic in the pedi bath which is good but take it out while you are getting your pedi done and clean up with your feet in the is it dirty is it clean spa bath. This salon could use a little updating - it is not the nicest and newest in Franklin but they did a great job on my SNS manicure and regular pedicure. They were very friendly when I came in, very helpful in picking a color (I'd never gotten SNS before, wanted specifically a dark purple - no sparkle, and wanted my toes to match). I would have stared at the wall for thirty minutes if it hadn't been for their help. They offered me a beverage and settled me in for my pedicure. Did a great job - very thorough but without any discomfort. They were very nice, funny, likable. I really did feel comfortable there, which sometimes is not the case when I try a new salon. The SNS process was a bit long but well worth it! My nails lasted three weeks before the ends at my nail bed started grabbing my hair when I ran my fingers through. They really looked great that long, too, through weight lifting and all my regular day activities (I have busy hands). I felt like my nail tech was very thorough when working on my hands and really was focused on the SNS process. I was very impressed with the final product but I did have a noticeable bit of stain (?) around the nail bed. I'm not sure if this is typical or because I had such a dark color or what. It went away after a few hand washed and a shower. I would give this place a 5/5 if they were able to update the salon a bit and make it feel a little nicer/cleaner. read more

This place is a hit or miss depending on your nail tech. I've been coming here for over a year now. I like how fully staffed this place is so wait time is very minimal. But since it is so staffed you're bound to work with a new person each time unless you make a specific request for someone. Some nail tech here are too "trim happy" I get that painting shorter nails are easier but there is a such thing as too short. So short it hurts. Whenever I request to keep the length in my nails some of the techs will say "it will look better short". I didn't ask you that. Other techs will listen and make your request happen. This is my first Yelp review. I had such an unpleasant experience here that I felt it was absolutely necessary. I'm appalled by the lack of customer service and disregard for their patrons. I have NEVER been IGNORED by a nail spa or technician before going to Sahara. I came here by a friends recommendation on a Saturday. It was obviously very busy, but that was expected. I wanted to have my acrylics soaked off and then a basic manicure. I figured an hour and I would be out. WRONG. It's 2 hours later and I'm still sitting here drying. The entire time I was "soaking", I wasn't offered a beverage or checked on. Moreover, I sat and watched as 6 other customers who came in AFTER me were in and out in 40 mins. It wasn't until 45 minutes of soaking that a tech "begrudgingly" began my lackluster manicure. She then tried to overcharge me. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

This was my first time at this nail salon. After being ushered into 4 different seats I finally was getting my SNS manicure. The overall manicure was just okay. There are parts of my nails that didn't even get color on them. What I was most annoyed with though was that I was told on the phone when making my appointment that my SNS manicure was going to be $45. However, when I went to pay the total it was $50. When asked why it went up, I was then told that there is a $5 charge to soak off my previous manicure. I've never been to a nail salon that charges $5 to soak off nails when you are also getting a new manicure. Overall, I will not be going back to this nail salon. read more
