Wow! My family and I eat Indian food all of the time, we cook it at home and eat out a lot. We absolutely LOVE Seheb! This is amazing food, and completely underrated. The Chicken Chili is a great starter, the Makhani is one of my favorites, but my family got 4 different dishes and everything was fantastic. Te food is slightly Punjabi (northern Indian cuisine) influenced, which is our favorite, but they have wide range of Indian influenced dishes. We were all amazed at how delicious all of the dishes that we ordered were. I can't say enough good things about this food. We'll be back again and again. Can't wait to eat there next! read more

I'm so sorry this was such a disappointment. I had high hope that the food would be flavorful. Instead we got butter chicken that tasted as if it just had tomato sauce, not the flavorful taste expected with even mild spice. This restaurant -- unlike Pakwaan near Brandermill -- doesn't know how to prepare eggplant: The veggie is very watery so salting it, topping it with a paper towel, putting a heavy weight on it and letting it stand until moisture is squeezed out is important -- but the chef here obviously added lots of salt and didn't squeeze out the moisture (which takes most of the salt with it when you do it properly). I couldn't eat my entree of it (the owner, who didn't offer to adjust the bill, admitted it was 'a little salty' after taking it back to the kitchen) so I told him I'd bring it home and add it to lots of unsalted rice or potatoes. Unfortunately, too much salt keeps a diner from tasting the good Indian spices. read more

Have had food from here 2 times. First time we picked it up. The food was great. Good sized portions and the food was very flavorful if a bit on the mild side for a "spicy" order. Second time we used a delivery service. This time the food was bland and had absolutely no heat level at all. The portions were also much smaller...6 small shrimp in 15 dollar dish is not acceptable. Perfect in every way - my family and I have been going since they opened and every dish is delicious and packed with flavor. I asked for recommendations and got things I hadn't tried before and they were so good. Also - state your heat level preference, I love spice but the default is mild/medium. The second time i went I told them I wanted it spicy and it was perfect. Everyone who works there is kind, the décor is cheery and cozy - this is one of our top restaurants in Richmond. This was our first time eating from Saheb. We did takeout via Uber Eats and it was amazing. We started with the Samosas which were very nice and crisp with a well seasoned potato and pea filling. The outside was maybe a little oily but nothing to complain about. We then had Lamb Korma and this was the best I've ever had. The lamb was incredibly tender and the chunks could easily be cut with a spoon. The sauce was creamy and delicious and was wonderful to eat with the Naan that we purchased as well. I'm so happy that we have such a great Indian restaurant on this side of the river now, and we don't need to deal with the trek to Short Pump. read more
