With the new ownership and remodel, outside and inside building looks a lot more modern and clean now. There is about 2 tables in there if you want to sit and eat your meal there. I would suggest to bring your own napkins or paper as it's not openly displayed. Staff was very nice. The price of the sandwich at first look at menu to me seemed pricy but after looking at the size of the banh mi seemed reasonable. My own preference, the banh mi could've been more toasted, pickled carrot/daikon were not pickled enough so it didn't have that proper sour or acidity. Their mayo is not like the original Vietnamese type that is "butter" or made with egg.. tasted more like kewpie Mayo with a tang so it was a bit runny and made the bread soggy. Not bad, not good. I've ordered a couple times since new ownership. Sandwiches are fresh and they are generous with the meat inside. I've ordered not spicy and spicy special sandwiches. The first time I got a not spicy sandwich it was good. Packed full of meat. But for the whole sandwich only 6 pieces of pickled daikon and carrots. It felt off balanced. The second time i ordered I tried it spicy. It was so stupidly spicy it was not enjoyable. They slathered on about a half inch thick of chili paste. The chili paste and the cucumber on this particular day was very very bitter. It really ruined the whole sandwich. I ended up trying to scrape off the chili paste and taking out the cucumbers but the chili paste was put on the pate side and I ended up scraping off all the pate. Other than that, inside is clean and spacious. You can see the station where they make the spring rolls so if you wanted, you could watch in real time like subway. read more

This is definitely one of the top banh mi sandwiches in the Central Valley! The new owners did a great job renovating and cleaning up the interior. It used to be outdated but now is clean and more inviting. The banh mi was delicious. The baguette was fresh & flaky, not hard at all. The veggies were refreshing: cucumber, daikon, carrots were nice and crunchy. The pate & mayo balance out the flavors and the mild is a nice light spice. They have spicy and extra spicy options which are SPICY . The amount of meat was the perfect ratio for the sandwich. The Ube drink was so refreshing for this hot summer in Fresno. I've been coming to this sandwich shop since I was a kid and I'm glad they had this upgrade! New shop is cleaner, modern and more inviting as a sit down lunch spot rather than a grab and go like before. My usual is the spicy Saigon house sandwich which is the best banh mi in Fresno (fight me) but this time opted to try out the spicy lemon grass beef banh mi. It was flavorful, filling and hella spicy ! Huge sandwich so come hungry Thai coffee is good as well. Nice update to the shop. Finally got to try the garlic butter bread banh mi and my oh my did it really make a difference! You have to eat it freshly made IMO, it just tastes best that way! The bread is nicely toasted with the garlic butter spread on top and gives it a nice crunch and yet still soft on the inside. My niece went n got one and we ended up sharing. She asked for it to be extra fuckin spicy and they delivered OKAY!! Even threw in a small container of the spicy paste. lol. She even asked for it to have extra pate,.. she loves that shit! Service was nice and quick. I'm Just so used to the original and this didn't hit the spot for me. I was super excited they were finally open when I went by. I wanted to get it the original way to see how the portion was first. I got it spicy but it wasn't as spicy as it used to be. Trying this place after the new management. They remodeled the inside and now it looks brighter and more open. Busier now too, so you might not get to have a seat while you wait. For the sandwich, it is not the same like it was before, but it was still good. I think the pate is the same though. I ordered the Saigon House special. I didn't ask for any restrictions because I like trying things the way it is to get the full experience. First impression, the sandwich is big and fat. Which is a good thing! There was a lot of pate, which I don't mind, but there was too much soy sauce flavor. Which I didn't like because it took away the flavor of the pate. The house made bbq pork was very bland. The pickled carrot and daikon needs to be a little more sweeter. The mayo is alright. Overall, the sandwich is ok. Now I know this place has some bad reviews, but I've came here two separate times and this place has hit for me each time. A lot of customers complain about them skipping out on toppings, I have never felt like that. First time I got the extra everything banh mi. It was $12. For the amount of meat, it's totally worth it. But personally I thought it was a little too much meat. So the second time around (8 months later) I got the regular sandwich with extra pate and I still feel like they have a lot of meat. Mind you the extra pate was $2 more so it ended up being the same price as the extra everything banh mi. But that's okay. It was so good. And I feel like their pickled carrots and daikon are the best. Really cuts the richness of all the meat and pate. I personally think that this has to be the best banh mi in town. Hands down thee best Bahn mi in Fresno, I usually order about 7 plus, and I walk over to the Golden bowl and do some shopping because it takes them about 20 or so minutes to make that many. I am not in Fresno as much but when I am, I making it a point to come here pretty much every time. The bread is so fresh and pillowy and crunchy, ahh it's like biting into heaven. The veggies are so fresh and refreshing, cucumber is always crunchy, the cilantro is always fresh, I've had problem with wilting cilantro from some places, and the meat is the perfect amount. Best banh mi place hands down. The way they mix the pate with mayo is just right. You can't go wrong with double everything for 8$, it's just an extra 2$ more! Even my 110 lb dog thinks so (I unfortunately left half the sandwich on my dining table and he scarfed it down in 2 seconds). They have some bomb papaya salad for only 5$, but leave the spicy papaya salad to experienced eaters--otherwise keep a glass of milk handy. Also, I think the Yelp hours are a little off. They seem to open around 10/10:30 and close ~5/5:30 from what I've noticed. Cash only! read more
