Weekend brunch spots in Fresno are hit or miss but The Waffle Place is consistently a hit. Been here probably six or seven times and it hasn't disappointed yet. The waffles are obviously the move. Crispy outside, fluffy inside, and the topping options are actually fun. Not just syrup and butter, like real combinations that work together. The portions are generous too, I've never left here hungry. They also do savory breakfast stuff that's really good if you're not in a sweet mood. The whole menu is just solid across the board. It closes at 2pm so you gotta plan accordingly. Gets busy on weekends which tells you everything you need to know. I'd recommend getting there a little early or just being prepared to wait, its worth it. Service is warm and the place has a good energy. My oh my oh my OHHH MYYY!! Hands down, all hands down, one of the best breakfast spots I've ever been to. My family and I opted to sit outside and we were seated immediately on a Sunday morning. I cannot recall the name of our server unfortunately, but everyone that helped at our table were absolutely fantastic. Some of the best customer service I've experienced. I ordered the eggs benedict, while my sister ordered a smoothie and pancake on the side. They have a big menu selection with fresh squeezed juice, breakfast/lunch, and "healthier" options. I went with the k juice (carrot and orange) and it was bit thick, still good though. When we walked in, there were only a few tables of people and within about 45 minutes, the entire restaurant was full. From the owner, the servers, the kitchen staff, The Waffle Place makes you feel immediately welcomed. Up early at 7am, I grabbed a comfortable booth seat and looked over the menu. Lots of fantastic options of standard breakfast fare, with the added bonuses of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options for most of the standard. An added bonus is the amazing fresh juice bar, lined up and ready to go with racks of fresh vegetables and fruits from local farmers and markets. My server (who was also the owner) was a wonderful man, full of energy, positivity and plenty of humor. I decided to go with the Daily Fitness Breakfast and a 24-oz Real Shot Fresh Juice. Daily Fitness Breakfast ($18.99) - Two protein pancakes (or waffle in my case), omelet with tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, spinach, bell peppers, avocado and two turkey sausages. Served with a side of fruit and fresh salsa. Real Shot (24 oz - $8.99) - Ginger, Kale, Carrots, Apples and Lemon Juice. The juice came out first. At 24-oz, served in a glass mason jar, this is a steal at $8.99. The freshness of ingredients and the amount you receive is outstanding. No other "juice" stand offers this quality and quantity for this price. It was extremely refreshing and tasty. The Daily Fitness Breakfast came out second. The waffle was incredible. The protein version is made with whey protein, organic flour, olive oil, vanilla bean and egg whites. Outstanding! I would have never known the difference. A light golden brown crisp on the outside, with a soft, yummy center. The omelet was also quite delicious. Light, fresh, full of flavor - good for the heart and the soul. The added homemade salsa was a perfect addition. The scene itself is cozy, warm and friendly. Plenty of parking on the street or in the retail mall space. The Waffle Place is one of those outside gems of Fresno that I would highly encourage everyone to try. Great food, Great service, Great prices. I hadn't been to this location since the last time I'd gone and it was named waffle shop. I believe it's new owners now and the new owners did quite a bit of upgrades. They have their menu on the window which is nice so you can check out the menu while you wait (if there's a wait). I had gone on a weekday so it wasn't too busy and it wasn't loud. We were greeted right away when we entered the establishment and sat down immediately. There was a lot of seating and even outdoor seating as well. The gentleman (Eduardo) let us choose where we wanted to sit. The menu was very big so it took a while to figure out what we wanted to eat. Eduardo made a suggestion for me and I'm glad he did. I got the chicken and waffle and my husband got the chilaquiles with chorizo. The food was fantastic but what made our visit better was Eduardo. He has such a fun energy and is so kind.
