I've heard some people say this is the best pho in the SB area, while others claim it's Phamous Cafe. The latter is correct. I came here on a Friday night with some friends and the restaurant was moderately filled. The service when ordering was quick. The options on the menu were your typical types of pho (there's even a shrimp one!), some dry vermicelli bowls and some rice plates. The prices were alright for SB. I ordered the pho with brisket and tripe. It was okay! Just okay. But that's all I can say. The noodles were kind of sour and way too soft. It was weird. I noticed our spoons were covered in greasy fat bits afterwards too...? The soup was alright but there was something missing. It didn't taste home-y or bone-y if that makes any sense. The service throughout declined. I asked for water a few times and they kept forgetting. One of the employees was somewhat rude. I couldn't tell if the place was authentically Vietnamese. Overall, I'd head to Phamous and only went here for the experience. read more

I've been coming here for a few years now, and honestly it's my favorite pho place within all of Santa Barbara and Goleta. I have never had a negative experience with the the food per se, it's good for when you have a pho craving as many others have said in their reviews. But the one thing that they lack is customer service most of all. They're most of the time friendly, usually the same waitresses. Their service is usually quick, but unfortunately most of the time they forget if you ask for extra of anything. I understand if it's a rush, but if there's literally only about 3 tables worth of customers in there, it doesn't make sense. It's happened to me on multiple occasions to which I just don't even try and rather just go up and get it myself which shouldn't happen. TLDR: Service needs to improve, Pho is okay for a craving. I placed an order for this place on an app. I walked in and the girl at the register was so rude and made me believe that I had placed my order on a scam website and they completely disregarded me, even the older vietnamese man told me they didn't partner with outside services and they ignored me. I went to grab my phone to show them the app, and the young girl grabbed my phone and went through my order and continued to tell me there was nothing she could do. She was very rude to me and made me feel like my concern didn't matter. I called the app customer service and they confirmed the order I had placed.. I walked back inside and my order was magically there.. they continued to argue that I had called in my order and didn't use an app. RELUCTANT TO APOLOGIZE FOR IGNORING ME AND NOT DOING HER JOB MAYBE IF THEY WOULD HAVE JUST PUT MY NAME IN TO THEIR SYSTEM THEY WOULD HAVE KNOWN, no matter how it was placed!! Saigon Noodle House offers the worst service among all restaurants I have dined in. They spilled the sauce on my phone case and destroyed it (it was soaked with sticky sauce). I asked to see their manager but they repetitively emphasized that it was an accident and never said sorry. I will never come again for this service attitude. read more

Not what it used to be . This place doesn't know what it's doing half of the time . There's one guy who's literally clueless . You'll order multiple items and he'll ring you up and then totally forget to put in the order of what you ordered . They'll take orders over the phone and you'll show up for your order but they'll say that they don't have any order waiting to be picked up . So you'll reorder the order and then they'll say they're out of whatever you want to order . This place is terrible now . It's truly sad because it used to be one of my favorites. read more

Simply delicious. The pho here always tends to hit the spot after a long and exhausting weekend. The broth seems to be a recovery recipe! The spices were just right. I don't know why people tend to give Noodle City a better rating than Saigon Noodle House. I think they are both mediocre, but Saigon Noodles House is more generous with their serving size than Noodle City. The few times I have been to Noodle City, I can't help but notice the grilled pork was sliced paper thin and the nuoc mam was so over diluted that it was no longer flavorful. Saigon doesn't have those problems. It has decent cha gio, mediocre soup noodles and com dia, and one terrible mi quang because I wanted to try something more exciting than pho. For the sake of convenience and value, I choose Saigon Noodle House if I don't feel like driving to Saigon In and Out. Sadly, nothing in this city comes close to the Vietnamese food I was accustomed to in Falls Church, VA. read more

The service is always slow and the Pho can easily be beat down the road. With it's large dining room, SNH really packs them in. The customers are a mix of college kids with some working lunch types thrown in. On the few occasions I've been, there's a wait to get seated then a wait to get a menu, some more waiting to place the order and you get to wait some more before you eat. It's soup folks, the broth is already made. Not sure what I'm waiting for you to cook. When it comes to the flavor, it's ok. I love Pho and have enjoyed it all over including Vietnam and for me, it's nothing special here. Don't wait for boring soup, drive a couple miles down the road for the real stuff. The place is a good size, service was quick and friendly, prices a bit more than some other places around but not by much and still a good value. It was just okay. It's sucks how many bad reviews there are for this place. I had a good time! Of course, I went in over Xmas break when no one was there. I got great service from a girl who was sooooo minature and cute and the quality of the food was great. I searched around Yelp for a good place to have Pho. I came across the Noodle House reviews which were hit or miss, but I thought I'd take a chance. My boyfriend and I arrived around 630pm on a weekend, and got a table right away. The place was about half full. The waitress was nice, seating us right away. We looked over the menu quickly and I decided on the mixed beef bowl and a tai iced tea. Both arrived very quickly. I will confess that I have never had pho before so I cannot make a comparison to other places in Santa Barbara. I can just say that I was very impressed with layout, fresh sprouts, some sliced jalapeños, and basil on a plate. My bowl of Pho was massive, steaming hot and I could smell the broth right away. I dumped a bunch of sprouts and a bit of chili paste in my bowl and took a nice slurp. The broth was very flavorful, with several layers of flavors. The noodles were perfectly cooked, not gummy at all. Lots of fresh green onions, thinly sliced beef, it was so tasty. I'm happily eating my bowl and I guess I got down to the tripe, which I had never had before. I wasn't a fan, so I won't be ordering the combo bowl again. For Santa Barbara this is a good inexpensive option for Vietnamese. The wait staff were very nice and could explain the ingredients that made up what i was concerned about. With dietary restrictions this can sometimes be a problem but i'm hoping the information they provided me with was accurate. Now this is a Noodle place but i ordered the pork with rice and had an egg over the top. They had provided plenty of meat. My friends and I would always come here every week and always tipped well and never left a mess. I've been going to the restaurant for about 2 years and finally had enough with its service. Waited at the table for around 20 minutes before they could take my order. When the food finally came, it was shill rolls instead of the egg rolls I ordered. I waved at the waitresses, but had to wait for another 10 minutes while they were chitchatting at the front desk the whole time. I had to stand up and ask them to come, but one of them just yelled at me like "what do you need?" and started smirking with another waitress. When she finally brought the right thing here, she said: "you are welcome" right to my face.
