As usual, I started with salad rolls ($5 for two) to really get my rice noodle fix, and these were delicious, perhaps the best I've had. The pho with rare beef ($9.50 or $2 more for large) was good, but I've had better. The stock had good flavour and there was plenty of thinly sliced beef. However, the accompanying jalapeño peppers didn't give it the kick I usually look for with red Thai chilies, and the cilantro leaves, which I'd never seen offered before, were left on the plate since I prefer the soup with basil leaves. For my taste, the peppers and basil are key to my enjoyment of this fantastic soup. Friendly service. This is a lunch destination for tour buses, so expect a possible wait and a loud crowd during tourist season.

It was an extensive menu with some really interesting (meaning enticing) options but I love pho and could t resist ordering the pork belly version because pork belly is one of my favourite food groups! It arrived quickly and was absolutely fresh and delish. The pork belly was SO yummy and after throwing in the peppers and sprouts and basil and lime and a bit of hoisin we were complete. So happy to have stopped here. It's my birthday weekend (or week or even month at my age) so happy to find another way to celebrate! We found out that the rest of our order had been mixed up and missed by the kitchen after we called the server over because we had been waiting for ~20 minutes.
