A large TV on one wall shows a video of a Western traveller visiting Thailand to sample foods. There is a lunch buffet ($21 for adults or $14 for kids) - offering 8-10 dishes in the centre of the restaurant. Groups large and small would fit easily, as would wheelchairs and baby strollers. The buffet is so underwhelming, really probably the worst North American Thai food I have had. Soggy Pad Thai for example. All meat dishes are chicken. I like the ambiance and the service. Just the food is a pass. read more

On the main street in Sidney, this plain, simple restaurant offers a rich Thai food experience. Spring rolls, satay, pad Thai, red (get the one with duck) and green curries, and lots more. Pleasant servers, large portions, quality ingredients, and delicious sauces make the Thai Corner a no brainer. The lovely owners are proud of their restaurant, and it shows. I staggered into this little gem out of a nasty night when the rain was blowing sideways, soaking my clothes and making my umbrella useless. I could feel a cold coming on and was desperate for some spicy comfort food. The friendly staff fixed me up in seconds with a pot of steaming tea- a great start. They offer a great variety of Thai dishes, including veg-friendly options. I chose the medium spicy Pad See Ew with tofu and they nailed it: hearty, fresh, not too saucy, and a perfect amount of heat. Prices are very reasonable for a large platter of food, about $11-13 per entree. I can't wait to move to Sidney so I can make Thai Corner my regular stop. read more

No longer on Resthaven Drive, Thai Corner is now on Sidney's main drag, Beacon Avenue, and worth a visit . . . . There are so many tantalizing Thai and Asian-inspired choices on this menu, it's hard to choose, so I will be back. I made my own combo meal of lettuce wraps ($10.75) with a small bowl of Tom Yum Goong soup ($6.25). The broth was addictive sweet and sour with lemongrass, lime, garlic and fish notes. It was loaded with (white button) mushrooms, galangal, onions, tomato, cilantro and three plump, perfectly cooked freshwater prawns. The chilli spice heat was missing, even though I asked for medium heat. Still, this was a well made soup. Ron's wonton soup had similar fresh tasting qualities, with firm cooked fresh vegetables and homemade, nicely seasoned wontons. The lettuce wraps are 2/3 of an iceberg lettuce, which looks like too much, and a small bowl of garlic and mild spiced, fried ground chicken/chopped veg that doesn't look like enough. All in all, with the dry fried crispy rice noodles, it was enough, satisfying and fun to eat. read more

The only way I can describe the food is... freaking incredible!!! The lunch buffet is delicious! There aren't as many options as a Chinese buffet, but that won't stop you from having amazing and authentic food at a great price! The staff are also very friendly and helpful! The best Thai food in Sidney! Love their soups, salads and chicken skewers. Herbs are fresh and flavors are full. If spice is your thing then you will enjoy having some of the spicier dishes on the menu. read more

This place was pretty average. I came during lunch and they had a buffet. However, the selection was more limited than other buffets (about 10 items to choose from). The food was a bit salty. It didn't taste bad but doesn't really stand out much. read more

Lunch here is awesome. There's an AYCE here for $14, there's not a huge variety of food to choose from, but it's pretty good for the price. Recently I came here and had the Curred Fried Rice (chicken) and it was quite tasty. Also had the fried banana ice cream, which was a bit of a letdown. The fried bananas were not fresh. All in all, I'd still recommend this place to a friend. Good food, good price, just stay away from the dessert. read more

I ordered takeout from Thai corner and it was not exactly what I was hoping for. The pad Thai dish and curry were good, but the curry did not come with white rice as most do. The fried rice was over cooked and mushy, and over seasoned. The wonton soup did not taste like a typical wonton soup and had an odd over powering flavor. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a while but waited for the opportunity to attend with a group for the best test. Four of us went and really, there is no point listing the items we had because it was all good. 6 appetizers and 4 different dinner menu items were all very nicely done. Flavours and presentation were great. Spiciness could be done to individual preference from no spice to Tijuana take out your palate, sinuses and prefrontal cortex. Service was very good. They recognized, without asking, that none of us had been there before. Not sure what that means but I thought it was a nice attentive touch. It was less than 15 minutes from ordering the main dishes to their piping hot arrival. Staff unobtrusively returned a couple of times. Prices were very reasonable and all in all, an excellent dining experience. I should give it five stars but my gut won't allow it. You see, and it really needn't be told, but, I have a sensitivity to MSG. If it is present in even trace amounts, I will know it within 90 minutes of eating. Like clockwork either MSG or some spice of the same chemistry kicked in and I'm betting on the MSG. Not a big deal because I know how to live around that whole ordeal and I will go back. So, sorry Thai Corner, four stars. read more

I have called this place multiple times for take out or delivery, and almost everytime, they take my order, put me on hold for 5 minutes, then come back and tell me they wont be able to do the order right now and to call back in an hour. RIDICULOUS. Don't offer takeout and delivery services if you're not willing to provide them. Great food, they just dont make it easy to enjoy if you're not eating in. read more

almost perfect. Had take out. Not sure I could have eaten in as there was an odd "old" odour in the place. But staff was super friendly . Curry awesome. Pad Thai was pretty much the best I have ever had- ever. Close to,perfection. Spring rolls were also perfect. The only miss was the spring roll sauce. We decided to try out this place as my friend recommended it to me. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly servers. We ordered 36 (cashew chicken) a 77 prawn hotpot and plain vermicelli noodles. The food arrived quickly, however it was undercooked. The onions in the hotpot were undercooked, the chicken in the cashew chicken was soggy and flavorless. Both dishes lacked flavor and were very disappointing. We actually never touched the vermicelli noodles because the other dishes were dry. It was very unsatisfying, the service was nice though. read more
