Our March 2020 wedding ended up being cancelled by our venue a week before because of the first shutdown due to COVID-19, but Chris was completely understanding and flexible during the rescheduling process. When we were a few months from our new wedding date in December, we made the tough decision to postpone our wedding as a whole again, this time an entire year later. We decided to still get married this December in a small wedding though, and I let Chris know that we wanted to book him for this day as well so that we could have footage to share with our family and friends who wouldn't be able to be there. He was completely supportive and gave us an amazing deal for this separate day, and even offered to combine footage from both wedding days. We were hours away from having our wedding cancelled again due to another shutdown in California, but we were able to pull off our outdoor ceremony and dinner, and we are SO glad that Chris was there to capture our amazing day. My wife-to-be and I were looking for a photographer to capture our big day on very short notice. Los Angeles is chock-full of professional photographers with outstanding portfolios, and we contacted about a dozen of the ones we liked. Our requirements were, as you would expect, an affordable price and a portfolio that spoke for itself. Donald was among a myriad of other photographers that we found on Google. The gallery on his site stood out immediately - you could just tell that he was not only a true professional, but his body of work was unique and special. My gut feeling told me that Don would be a great fit for us. Meeting Don cemented our decision to pick him as our photographer. On top of having an amazing portfolio and a long list of accolades (he was featured in People magazine & on FOX's Good Day LA, and voted as one of the best wedding photographers in SoCal by The Knot) he was so accessible and helpful. The human factor was present and powerful, if you will. Prior to the wedding, Don helped us with several important planning aspects just by talking to us. He is knowledgeable, which is important considering that most couples aren't professional wedding coordinators (key note: we did not have a coordinator at our wedding). Just as importantly, Don was attentive to our needs and special requests. He noted the important details and came through flawlessly. On the big day, things went as planned (at least with Don haha). I don't want to sound like a broken record regarding Don's skill level, so I'll just say this: the pictures turned out as amazing as we had hoped. Within a few weeks we received high resolution master negatives which is not something all photographers offer. Don was there to capture all the important events, but what was truly special was the fact that he caught moments my wife and I never got to see. Going through the pictures, we saw our wedding through another lens, so to speak, and laughed about things we didn't get to see at the time. This is why we hired Don. In the end, it was a privilege to have Don capture and document one of the happiest and most important days of my life. I sincerely thank him and hope that everyone will have him as their wedding photographer. P.S.
