Captain Dan was so nice, humorous, and well informed providing a great balance of jokes and informational facts about the aquatic wild life. They give you lots of opportunities to take family photos, stop the boat when there are dolphins around, even would turn the boat around so people on the other side could get plenty of pictures and could see it too. We were so happy that our ticket included 2 drink tickets (sodas, beer, or seltzers). My parents considered this experience relaxing, and my 29 year old sister/ my 25 year old self considered this experience to be very fun, so I think anyone at any age would enjoy it. Definitely recommend.

We hung out in front of the Sanibel lighthouse for everyone to get plenty of pictures at a wonderful sunset as Captain Forrest snapped away for all the groups and even sneaking himself in with the last shot. We enjoyed just sitting on the beach of the island as much as the shelling. They made only one mention of appreciating tips if you enjoyed yourself. No tip bucket, no signs posted asking for tips. They earned a tip and would have gotten it even without a mention. The few poor rating reviews posted here you will notice were years ago. No way that can be who is running this now. This place used to have crazy fun stuff like this waterfall in the pool for example. It felt luxurious and felt fun to be at even for all ages. But now every single aspect that was fun about the park has been stripped away. For example; the lazy river used to be fast and fun with buckets of water dropping on your head and water spraying and pouring above you with fun stuff to do with people everywhere, but now the river is fully empty and not one bucket or water pipes that leak water onto you are there. When I say zero I mean ZERO! Instead you've got this barren wasteland and husk of what it used to be. (Not to mention but the river is a bit TOO lazy. You barely move forward!) don't even get me started on the rebranding! There used to be this cool turtle guy who was the mascot and things were actually THEMED after him with like lily pads and turtle themed attractions; but now it's this stupid alligator guy who does not look welcoming or full of fun at all. Oh my god and the fountain sprinklers they used to have just don't even work. Like they're there but they just don't turn on at all and it used to be a big attraction there but now it's just dead. I can genuinely name 100 more things that were so much better then whatever lackluster amalgamation they have going on there. This park used to be fun and exciting, but everything that defined the park is gone. If you went there before it all went down the drain you'd know. It's really hard to explain how great this park used to be to someone who's only gone within the past year but it was truly magical. We need to get this park back to its former glory. But until this park gets its s*** together, don't go.

Captial Joe and First Mate Dave could not have been more gracious and inviting. From a safety standpoint, they were extremely thorough and sat us down to explain all aspects of the catamaran. Excellent seating with plush pillows and bean bags for comfort! We took a 3 hour sail. But, the winds did not cooperate! So,Captain Joe threw out a line with a buoy attached and we were able to float around the Gulf seeing pelicans fish, dolphins and even jellyfish! Don't hesitate to book a charter with this very clean ( COVID sanitized before every charter) and attractive vessel! PS. Make sure to bring your own food and beverages in a cooler as well. What a great experience! Highly recommend Captain Joe, First Mate Ed and the beautiful catamaran sail boat Bolero. At maximum capacity they only take 6 guests so it's a very personal experience. We were lucky to only have the 2 of us on board, the minimum needed to sail. Both Joe and Ed were friendly, knowledgeable & professional. We took the shorter cruise but wouldn't hesitate to book a longer or all day sail next time. A clean comfortable boat with plenty of room to spread out, once around the bend into open water the sails are up & motor off. So relaxing & peaceful. Saw lots of marine life. This adventure was the highlight of our trip! read more

The Captain's catamaran is a beautiful vessel, stable and in pristine condition. We comfortably lounged up front and took in the sights around the Fort Myers Beach area. First Mate Dave is totally knowledgeable about the towns, landmarks and ship traffic of the local environment, along with marine life and local restaurant / bar scene. Bought my mom and dad a sunset cruise with Sail Bolero for Christmas this year, they had an amazing time! Thry said it was an excursion they will never forget, super comfortable sitting areas, clean and tidy boat with very personalable and great staff The! One of the most perfect days of our lives was spent sailing on the Bolero. The Captain and First Mate couldn't have been more accommodating, knowledgeable, and laid back...just what we needed! Would recommend this to anyone who enjoys sailing. Loved the trampoline style chill area between the hauls in the front of the boat. Our toddler even ended up napping while cruising. My husband and I had a wonderful time. Joe is very personable he would answer any questions we had about sailing and boating. The weather was wonderful. We saw many dolphins. The boat is nice and comfortable. There are areas to be in the sun or be shaded. After registering for the cruise we received an e-mail with info on what to bring. Our 2 1/2 hour cruise was amazing. We were treated as family. We could go anywhere and ask lots of questions. It was a cold day but were still able to sit on the trampoline wrapped in towels. We sat inside and ate our snacks. It was wonderful. The views were perfect as the dolphins and cool looking birds were all pointed out for our pictures. The best day of our family vacation, hands down! Captain Joe have my family a wonderful day on his beautiful boat. I would highly recommend the private charter if you have a big family like I do. During the tour, I saw a handful of dolphins, which made it worth it. I have two complaints about the experience. First, the tour was way too crowded. I had gone on this tour once in the past, and there were about ten people on the boat. This time around, there were 32 people. This made it incredibly difficult to move around the boat to try and spot dolphins. Moreover, all of us were practically sitting on top of one another. The bench seating couldn't accommodate all of us. My other issue with this tour was the lack of shade. Only the back third of the boat was covered, so sitting in the front was incredibly hot. Most of the other pontoon boats we passed were shaded completely. If you're going to go on this dolphin tour, I'd recommend going earlier in the morning. My 10:00 a.m. tour was far too hot and far too crowded. Also, I'd suggest that you wear sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and clothing that covers your shoulders. If not, prepare to get some sunburn. A full bottle of water or two is also a necessity. Finally, make sure you bring some cash along to tip the captain and first mate.
