He said he could reinstall without having to remove baseboards and gave a good quote. Told him we'd think about it. Asked if he was available this week, and he said Sunday morning. Was on time and very nice. Again, I showed him product, quarter round, and bathrooms. He said he'd get started but said he had to run to Home Depot first. And that's the last we ever heard from him. After seeing the photos from someone else's job, it may be a blessing in disguise that he didn't reply to his texts or come back.

Well Mark was recommended by someone in my neighborhood so I took and reached out to see if he could do the job and what that would cost. He comes over very eager to take a look then quotes 1200 to do the mudding, drywall, and trim work or 1525 to paint and finish the bathroom. I already had 1/2" drywall at the location, 45 mud, tape and told him we could get whatever needed to get the job done. He says we will get took care of and make it like it didn't happen should be good to go. I ask do we need anything else will this work he says should work no big deal we should be fine I am like alright sounds like a plan. We agreed on half payment at the beginning then full payment at the end. -First day comes over brings in a little tool bag and a table saw sat on the floor. I offered him a table to work off of hoping to be of assistance. He proceeds to move the vast majority of drywall and other items into the hallway and starts work. I let him utilize my sander, shop vac, L for measuring, T for drywall measuring, my bucket for mud mix, and a multi tool to assist with anything else needed. He mentioned that the drywall apparently was not 1/2" (now I know that it is in fact 1/2" drywall, but was like oh do we need new drywall?) He said we didn't need new drywall he should have enough of the pieces I had removed previously to do the job. I asked if the paint was correct and if he had enough. He then said, did it match the current paint and I said no it was that light yellow on the lid. At that point he goes oh I only quoted you for basically spot painting of the parts that were being mudded currently not the whole bathroom. I asked how much it would cost to paint the whole bathroom 1700 then said, but you can get someone else to do it. Then he finally came back with 1650 to paint the entire bathroom and finish up. I said alright not the same amount we agreed the first time, but I don't want to squabble over $125 especially if it means everything gets done at once. When he wraps up for the first day the hallway has a bunch of stuff on the table and sitting beside it floors are dirty. It was time to do the first installment for payment of $760, half of the original quoted amount. -Second day he comes over again early in the am starts work again this time sanding, but did not turn on the vent in the bathroom so the dust from the drywall and mud was everywhere he kept opening up the door and that was allowing all the dust to make its way into every nook and cranny of the house. I was like that is kind of annoying, but if it is done and looks good, I can fix a little dust. My wife opened up a window and the back door to help with airing the place out. He needed to have the trim, quarter round, silicone caulk, and sandpaper so I had my wife pick it up from Home Depot to ensure we kept things on track, and he had everything he needed to accomplish the project. Asked him if he wanted a drink which he did not. So, he proceeds to paint, sand, and mix mud doing his thing bringing things in and out of the project. So, my wife gets back, and we give everything that was asked he continues working. About 1/2pm he is wrapping up and ready to leave. I can hear him taking things from inside to outside like he was wrapping up. Mark at this point is like we are done come check it out walk into the bathroom lights off blinds closed. So, I open the blinds and turn on the lights. To my amazement I find that the wall butted up to the shower walls are like wavy indentions where it looked like he didn't understand how to smooth that part out and make it visually appealing. I have painted on my brand-new surround he did not use painter's tape. I have an edge of a wall with really rough and unfinished texture. Missed areas of paint the whole project is pretty awful I could have done that kind of quality maybe even a little better with more time. I explain hey this is not what is going to pass as being finished to which he goes alright I can come back on Tuesday. He leaves everything all nasty my bucket with mud, dirty floors paint on everything dust didn't care just was packed up and left. I get a call saying well I am a handy man maybe you need to find someone else to finish up the project to which I am like thanks for telling me now. So, I then proceeded to get another quote to do this project which now is going to cost me 500 to rip everything out and another 1500 plus materials to finish project. DO NOT HIRE!
