I went for a dental cleaning and also went back a second time to get my fillings done here. I was worried but both procedures went smoothly! Dr. Holcomb and her staff were wonderful. She made me feel very comfortable, at ease, and alleviated my worries. She explained every procedure she was going to do, answered all of my questions, and was very gentle. The nice thing was that she talked through my procedure so I knew exactly what was going on at each step of the way. Everything that they did was to make my whole experience as comfortable as possible.

I called in need of some urgent care and the staff seemed very nice and polite. Unfortunate to learn that the same practice that George employed, and more importantly patient care process, has changed. Not saying that you shouldn't give them a try - just don't base your dental decision off the previous reviews. It's not the same place. In the past emergent patient needs would at least get you on a list to come in if there are any cancellations. Not offered on either of the two calls to the office e. Instead, an explanation that you have to come in for cleaning before the Dr will see you. When they reviewed my situation, the recommendation was to go visit a dentist that would service the need right away, and come back when you can have it addressed within their "cleaning first" process. Again, the staff was very polite. It's just apparent that the new ownership is prioritizing the fee capture from cleanings using techs and keeping the Dr reserved for captive patient scheduling. Unfortunate as this used to be a gem in a difficult space. Best of luck to the new ownership. Posting this as an advisement to all those looking for the perfect 5 star service that used to exist out of this office. Gave three stars since this is par for the course with any run of the mill dental practice.

My neighbor recommended Dr. Appelbaum's practice, and it's only a mile from where we live so I called to see if they could take us. They set up an appointment within the next few weeks. We arrived that morning and within a few minutes of checking in, they took a Polaroid of the kids in front of the Christmas tree which they had made into a Christmas card for us by the end of the visit. Everyone was so nice and friendly and good with my kids, ages five and eight. My five-year-old is particularly shy, and the hygienist assigned to him warmed him up almost instantly. They had a poster of drink choices showing how much sugar is in each one (they posted an empty bottle, then baggie next to it with the amount of sugar in the drink actually in the baggie). The kids got to pick a prize at the end of their visit in addition to the usual toothbrush, toothpaste and floss in a bag. This place rocks and totally exceeded my expectations!

The nurses were so lovely too and held my hand during the shots. It took much longer than the last surgeon I went to for #32 and #1 wisdom teeth. But the extra time was worth it.
