I have always enjoyed shopping at this thrift store, especially in that they support Christian ministries. I will say that on my particular visit today, in the month of October 2024 that when I came into the shop five of the six women who were working there spent the entire time visiting with one another and catching up, especially even I believe the manager. They just seemed a lot of chit chat going on rather than servicing the store. Several areas could use some help as far as organizing and consolidating, particularly the office supplies and bath supplies. Also the book room, and other miscellaneous areas. Perhaps volunteers could focus on serving the store by attention to organization which might help improve their sales. read more

Oddly located but I finally found it. Not all that much unless you're quite large. Prices aren't great. There was a sign saying green tags were a big discount. Well, there was hardly anything in the store with a green tag! read more

This modest thrift store is mostly volunteer-powered. It's tidy, well-organized, and offers a decent selection. There's even a couple fitting rooms to try things on! The prices are very reasonable and I usually walk away with something I really, really like. It is a non-profit so the proceeds go to a charitable cause (that is bigger than St. Margaret's the church). read more

Clean and organized with friendly staff. Dressing rooms are available with mirrors inside. Items are quite pricey for a thrift store. Normal sweaters were about $8-10. Saw Christmas sweaters going for $22. I can understand that they were increasing prices because they thought that there would be a higher demand for Christmas sweaters during the winter season but that is just way too much, especially since the clothes they sell are all donated/received for free. read more

i used to go at least once a month when i was in high school as it is right across from it. over the years, i have found some of my favorite items here like saltwater sandals for $5, quality made leather and straw purses/bags and genuine leather minimal belts. sometimes they have a $5 all you can fill brown bag day, i think once a month. usually they will have color tag sales. i've seen gently used stewart weitzman sandal heels here before and i should've gotten them but maybe i'll see them again. all of their prices are fair enough but they're almost ridiculously cheap during sales. i always think that i'm the one buying up all the good items here, leaving everyone else with nothing. they also carry a good amount of homewares. the bathroom and fitting rooms are clean and comfortable. the volunteers who work here are amiable. read more

I came here for the first time and thought this was a great little thrift store. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There isn't a restroom in the store, but if the church is open, you're allowed to go there. When I went, they had a 50% off one color of their tags (I think they change the color each week) plus a 65% off for Halloween costumes, men's clothing, and linens. I thought the prices were reasonable, especially for tops/tees, skirts, and scarves. The sweaters/outerwear are a little pricier. It was much less expensive than a Value Village that I visited recently, the only other thrift store in the area that I've been to. I'd definitely come here again. One final tip is if you save your receipt, you can get 20% off your next purchase. read more

Terrible customer service by a regular employee-this woman was terribly rude, for no reason except that it could be she has no knowledge of customer service & GRATITUDE for customers. Me: excuse me, could I see something in the case? (I did get her attention from behind her, maybe that's what did not sit well with her. HER: no response. (She gave me the item I was interested in) Me: Thank you. I gave her back the item. Could I see another item? HER: no response, (She gave me the next item) Me: Thank you. HER: turned her back to me, then she got the attention of a young girl who worked there- said to the girl-"help this lady" She turned around & stood @ the register (there was NO ONE waiting @ the register for help. I can't figure out what could've offended this employee to behave so rudely, when there wasn't conversation. I have donated to St Margaret's thrift store for 30 years, but NO MORE! I will support Goodwill & Mercer Island thrift store. I will also share my experience w/my friends & family & suggest that everyone support Goodwill or Mercer Island thrift store, NOT ST. This is the second time I have felt mistreated trying to make a donation at this place. Last time, I brought entire bag full of baby clothes and toys and I was scolded because the changing pad had a tear in it. It was thrown into the trash in front of me. I swore I would never go back again but today I didn't have time to drive to Goodwill. I brought a bag of Pokémon toys and dress up clothes followed by a box of canning jars. The man taking my donation says, "Come on, are you serious??" And then he rolls his eyes at me! I told him I didn't realize that you can't resell canning jars and he tells me that they're only nine dollars for a set new. I offered to take them back but he says no and throws them into the recycling in front of me, breaking the jars. Next I had a lamp in perfect condition and rolling stand for a plant, never used. He again sighs and rolls his eyes at me so I stop him from taking them and I say, "I can take it back, please just tell me what kind of donations you want." He says, "clean, used, reusable." And pulls my things out of my hands. I left with the rest of my donations still in the car, feeling terrible. I'm sorry that I don't know the resale value of thrift shop items but I'm guessing most people don't. If my goal were illegal dumping I would not have brought heavy boxes of jars that I could have recycled for free. Best ask yourself if you think your donations are really good before going here. Otherwise save yourself the scolding and drive to goodwill where they will take your things and thank you. read more

-Very poor/rude customer service: was not greeted when I entered the store, despite being one of two customers in the whole place (this has happened twice). I'm sure there are some lovely volunteers here, but the one that waited on me yesterday at around 10:00 a.m (sixtyish woman w/ short grey hair) was extremely rude. Too small for me to really dig in. Nevertheless, I did end up purchasing a woven table runner, wooden napkin holders, and tapered candles. These were a steal at 50% off, but probably wouldn't have purchased them if it weren't for the sale. Items were a little pricey. read more

This is a great Thrift Store! Conveniently Located across from Newport High and Factoria Mall, their prices are reasonable, items cleaned and tested, clothing almost new & friendly staff. They have 50% and Bag sales regularly, ask ahead of time and they may know. Wish it was larger, but very organized space. Store Manager, Cindy Gwinn is always approachable, knowledgable & cheerful. This is one of my favorite thrift stores. The store is very neat and the staff is really friendly. When I visited, the staff was talking with each other for a while, they seemed really comfortable and down to earth from an outside perspective. When I went, there was a 50% off all clothing sale and $1.25 for all pants which was amazing! I ended up shopping in the store for an hour or so and I bought 2 pants, a t shirt and a jacket, all for just $5.91! read more

i drive to donate some fine china in a heavy rainny day. The people was rude just because there was some drops of rain on the china and he throw them away in front of me. he said it has to be resaleable. so china is not resaleable just because of some drop of water. that is interesting. so i drive in the rain just to see the people throw the goods away rudely. read more

I'd been out of town and hadn't been in the shop in 6 months, but when I stopped back in I was in for a big surprise! A new room has been added and all the racks re-arranged. The sales floor feels more open and it seems like there is more items for sale. I really like the new look! read more

I love to shop at St Margaret's. The clothing is great, and they have great shoes. They also sell a lot of office supplies and personal items at great prices. I like it when they have vases full of jewelry. This shop is great fun and the staff is very polite and always helpful. Great fun! read more

It has been awhile since I wrote my first review, felt as though it needed an update. The shop keeps getting better and better. The entire top floor of the shop is now devoted to outstanding bargains. They have gone to a one color discount which follows for a week. The merchandise which hasn't sold in four weeks is off loaded to other charities which means there is no musty odor sometimes associated with thrift stores. It is my favorite store of all times. I am glad I am on the email list and friended on facebook because that means I hear about the special sales and promotions. Definitely one of my stops for good thrifting. The personnel is friendly and outgoing. The assistance offered when donating is really appreciated. I especially like the seasonal specials and displays.
