They said that they didn't remember the initial quote and they never wrote it down. They said that they didn't have time to go back and forth about it. I'm really bummed I have to write this review. My family and I went here for years... yes my whole family (4 people). Initially, the office was amazing... Dr. Christensen, Carly and all his staff made us feel welcome and handled us very professional. These last few years, new staff, Christine and a few others are not so kind! They decided to go out of network with one of our plans and started billing us without notice. Furthermore, Christine or Christina ( whatever her name is), was extremely RUDE and not bothered to loose all of us as patients for the sake of money! The greed has taken over and patients mean nothing but a number anymore. Too bad, so sad... we found a great, accommodating Dr. to accept us and show extreme professionalism. Like most people...I get so scared to go to the Dentist!! Since I was a child, every Dentist experience has been rough. They were always mean to me about how horrible my teeth are. I know. Its my fault. But I would truly go to try and make them better only to leave and never go back. From my 1st call to coming and dealing with the receptionist, the hygienist and the dentist and his assistant, EVERYONE WAS SO NICE and loving. My experience @ Dr Christiansen's office was very positive. There was no wait time before the hygenist took me back. She was very thorough & professional. She updated my medical history & checked my blood pressure, explaining every step of the procedure. She was gentle but thorough while cleaning & polishing my teeth. Dr. Kirk and Melissa were quick and comforting. I needed major dental work to alleviate pain. They were clear with what they where going to do and how much it was going to cost. I love EVERYTHING about Dr. Christensen! I don't know where to begin. I am 100% petrified of the dentist office and have not been in years! I have that much anxiety. When I called SD smiles, Carly listened to my entire life story. Carly reassured me I was in perfect hands, she scheduled an appointment for X-rays and told me after that visit a dental plan would be discussed to what ever comfort level I would be ok with. After X-rays Dr. Christensen went over a treatment plan and addressed ALL of my concerns including my high anxiety! We scheduled my appointment the following week which would be a 4 hour visit and let me tell you Dr. Christensen understood the assignment! I give him, the staff and facility an A+ and 110%! So very please that even during the stay at home order was in place the dentist was able to get me in the next day to pull a tooth. The staff and dentist are very professional. They help you to be comfortable and relax. I have never had an issue here. Plus never have any real pain after. They always give you an information sheet so you know what you should or shouldn't do. This visit was for deep cleaning, I was so nervous everyone I spoke to told me how painful it was going to be. My concern was nerve that causes my Trigeminal Neuralgia would be aggravated and bring my pain back which I've had under control. Michelle hygienist was absolutely fabulous, I felt no pain during or after, she took the time to explain to me every step of the way what she was doing, she even kept my husband informed how much longer it was going to take. I absolutely love this dental team. Prior to coming to SD Smiles, going to the dentist was a nightmare. Carly is amazing at explaining benefits and billing. She always follows up and send reminders. Every time I come into the office she and Christina cheerfully greet you. Cindy is an absolute joy and so is Dr. Christensen. They make everything less scary, explain the process, give great after care instructions and are super sweet. They care a lot about your comfort and made me a lot less anxious. I went to this dentist based on the glorious recommendations given to them by multiple friends of mine. I have had numerous bad dentistry experiences throughout my early years which had kept me from going back. After 8 long years of no dentist visits, I found myself in bad straights when I had a persistent tooth ache. I took my friend's advice and went here. Within minutes they had diagnosed the issue which required a root canal. I expressed my concerns to Dr. Christensen and both he and the dental hygienist were all ears. They ensured I was comfortable throughout the procedure and made sure I was pain free. I don't write many reviews, verified by my minimal activity on this app. But their level of professionalism shouldn't go unnoticed. After years of no dentist appointments, I immediately scheduled myself up for a follow up exam because I trust this practice. Won't be going anywhere else. read more

Went in to get zoom whitening done. Right as I entered, the staff was extremely welcoming and friendly and the office was super nice and clean. Dr.Christensen and the front all the way to the back office were amazing and professional. The whitening can be tedious as there are four rounds as well as getting moods if your mouth for take home trays, but there's a tv right there with full access to the remote while you're sitting under the light. I wish they took my dental insurance because I would make this my primary dentist too if I could.... I came here because they did the Zoom whitening Specifically and I'm so glad I did. read more

I began with a wonderful experience at this dentist office, the front desk and assistant ladies are wonderful people persons. I've never had great brushing habits and came to them for 2 root canals and crowns. The first one went great, and I thought the last one went great as well until I was getting ready to leave and at the last minute Dr. Christensen briefly mentioned that his file broke inside my canal, and gave me a referral to a endodontist to remove it, costing me an extra $560 out of pocket. His response was "well, the tooth was so badly decayed you would have had to go anyways." If that was the case I feel I would have gotten referred to there in the first place, not because your tool at your hand broke. $560 may seem like pocket change to a DDS salary I get it, so good thing the office won't be getting the thousands more from me for all my other cavities and work that needs to be done. If this sour experience won't get me to brush and floss more often, I am doomed for sure. read more
