They're off to a perfect start. A true neighborhood pub feel: nothing boisterous, just simple and friendly. It's the ideal foil to the "bar scene"; a low-key atmosphere where you can relax alone, meet new friends, or catch up with the old ones. You might even say, "family friendly". Aside from all that the beers are good too! All small batches for now so it will be changing frequently. Probably not worth any great detail for a beer that may never be seen again. Off hand their coffee nitro was excellent and the red IPA had substantial depth and balance with the hops. 8 OUNCE POURS FOR 3 BUCKS! FINALLY! This is normal all over CO and CA, now we can enjoy more beers! or not commit to whole pint! Perfect for variety, a quickie, when your on the fence, or for smaller peeps! It's the cheapest in town, I hope they can manage to keep their pricing "as-is". Definitely come out to support them. Having followed Saints Row Brewing on Instagram for months prior to their opening, I was looking forward to being able to check them out early on. This is definitely a family run place with the owner and his brother working the taps. Both were eager and happy to talk to you about their beers. They are very much a microbrewery in that their batches of beers are pretty small so there is a really good chance that I what I enjoyed this past weekend, probably won't be there on my next visit. They had several beers on tap, all of differing styles. One of my pet peeves of breweries is when they have 5 IPAs and maybe one other beer. Definitely not the case here!! I didn't try their red IPA as I'm not an IPA girl, although my SIL enjoyed it. Their brown ale was awesome - slightly sweet and very smooth. I also really enjoyed their gose and am looking forward to the cherry gose that is coming soon. My favorite was probably their coffee stout served on nitro. It had a super strong coffee flavor courtesy of the Mayorga coffee beans roasted just down the street. The vibe was super relaxed with everyone hanging out and having a good time. The presence of a ping pong table and cornhole added to the fun. The brewery is also kid and pet friendly which was very noticeable with a lot of people bringing their smaller friends. read more

First time at Saints. They had a booth recently at the Rocktobierfest. I tried several of their beers during that event and loved them. I'm not a beer drinker. After enjoying them during that fair I decided I needed to go find them. After dinner tonight stopped by. Loved the ambiance. Open space, with couches, tables, picnic tables and a small bar area. Reminded me of a garage space with the entire garage area and the parking lot fitted with seating and chairs. Since it's an open plan area you can bring puppies. Many I did see and well behaved. On fridays they have a taco food truck. How cool is that. Too bad I was full to try the tacos. But everyone being local seemed to know the taco truck and soon as they arrived eagerly put their order in. You know where I am going next Friday!!! The beer I had granted only 8oz was delicious. A promising start to a brand new brewery in my hometown, Rockville. My favorite of the night is their St. Drogo. Their cask-style stout is rich in flavor from the coffee notes and a delicious caramel tone. It was a close race between that and the hose which was equally as delightful if you like your beers more acidic. They've managed to achieve the perfect balance. There is no food so it's byo snacks and dinner. Heck, the folks next to us brought a full middle eastern spread so why not. There really isn't anything other than Dominoes pizza within walking distance. Nice open layout with a ping pong table and small display of local artwork. Great place to meet up with friends after work. Tips: plenty of parking in private lot, looks closed but they are open. Go to the door with a doormat to the left of '1211'. Beer is a plenty, dogs are friendly, outside food is welcome (including Dominoes nearby), and staff is friendly. It was busy on a Saturday afternoon, but we managed to grab a table. They had extra chairs on the side for those who wanted to grab a seat. I loved the Lupulin Ninja (simply based on personal pref), but was really grateful they offered tasting before you committed to a full glass. Such a cute small brewery that opened up in Rockville! Very hidden place off of E. Gude. It's set up in a small little warehouse so if you go in the cold, dress warm! The staff is very friendly. They had 5 beers on tap to choose from. There was a couple of chairs and couch to sit on. You can bring in your own food because they do not sell any food. We saw the new location when driving by and decided to go in to check it out. Really nice people and a cool space. Friendly dog there in the bar, which has to say something about the owners (dogs are good judges of character.) We got a flight and were both able to find something we liked. I guess maybe I am not a fan of the nanobrewery concept? Or maybe it's just I'm not a fan of a nano brewery concept in the crowded DC metro area? I got here a little before 5 pm on a Friday (an hour after they open) and there wasn't a single seat left in the entire place. I managed to find a spot for one on the bench. I ordered a beer and was surprised to see only 5 options, but they were luckily the types of beers I like. I waited for my sister to arrive and about 5:30 pm when she walked in there wasn't any standing room. She squeezed into the bench I was on and finished my beer and we went elsewhere. It was just extremely crowded and loud so I felt like I was in a bar not a laid back brewery. Pretty solid beer though. I would be interested in returning during a slower time of day. read more

Good beer, and I want that to be the most important thing. But, two things that got in the way of enjoying their good beers were a crying baby and a barking dog. For one of those, I respect their efforts to accommodate new parents, and don't blame the institution for the parents' insensitivity to how they are impacting those around them. And, in this age when half the population needs to have their animals around them to cope with the world, I understand that dogs sometimes need to be in places where I never expected them to be. So, when the dog barks once, I do my best to tolerate it. But, when the dog barks multiple times, the institution needs to ask that dog to join the other dog on the outdoor patio (and, while they are at it, ask the parents to take their baby outside until it stops crying). I really hope they noticed that they lost half their patrons because of this. Their beer was good enough to make me consider returning. However, that they do not offer tasting flights and that their furniture feel more like a half-hearted effort to set up a hipster cafe than an adult drinking establishment make me more inclined to go World of Beer instead (which is intended to communicate a low bar). But their beer was pretty good. read more

This brewery is not fancy, but it is a feel-good, relaxing place to have good beer and hang out with friends. Both large garage-style doors open to give some nice added outdoor space. When I have been there later on Fridays, there is usually a pop-up selling food. You can also have food delivered there. The service is great, and even though I'm a lightweight when it comes to beer, I can always find an option I like. The selections also change periodically, so I can try something new from time to time. I highly recommend this little Rockville brewery! read more

Don't let the outside of this little brewery fool you, this is a top notch place to grab a beer! Like some of the best breweries, it's in a small storage unit/warehouse style set up. The staff, especially Patrick, is extremely friendly! He knew everyone by name and always addressed you as such, even me as a first time customer! They had 5 beers of tap, I tried most of them and they were all impressive. I especially liked their brown ale, perfectly balanced and not too heavy. They offer their pours in 3 sizes so you can customize what you want. I expect big things out of this brewery! It seems like they hired random people to cover the hours they typically weren't open. (they used to be open on select days last yr) -The beers were mediocre at best. I was invited to a friend's Christmas Catholic party that was hosted here and I am so glad I went! Even though this brewery is a trek from downtown D.C., especially if you don't have a car, it is definitely worth visiting this establishment. I love the friendly atmosphere of the bartenders and patrons. The best part is that although it may get a little crowded, the bartenders are always alert and ready to get you a drink. It didn't take any effort for me to get my beverage. I was surprised that the total transaction was less than a minute- something I always appreciate since this is not always the case in D.C. bars. I am not much of a beer drinker but the rotating porter from Saints Row Brewing was amazing! It had a nice malt and mocha finish to it. This place is still new so they only have 4 or 5 rotating drafts but the quality of the beers have been phenomenal and I can not wait to see more! read more

Montgomery County is coming into its own with breweries to be reckoned with! Once there was only Growlers in ol' town G Burg and then a few years later, the arrival of Dogfish heralded the possibility of this area becoming a beacon for breweries that were already flooding areas in the northern and southern west coast. But alas, it was Footloose and the Moco/Rockville/Md laws were collectively the Rev. Shaw Moore (yep, I am that old) and built a wall of litigation and taxation to prevent breweries from opening for decades. Baying Hound (see what is now True Respite) tried valiantly to pave the way even trying to host festivals from about 2010-2016 but could not fight the mounds of paperwork. Now fast forward ONLY a couple years and Moco/Rockville/Md now sees all the $$$ to be made and all the $$$ it is losing to everywhere else that breweries are popping up like Skittles on teens's faces. Saints Row has no food. (notta problem) Saints Row is not pretty to look it (notta problem, in fact, it feels like a cross between a cozy, 1980s unfinished basement feel complete with couches, wooden benches AND a large garage) Food is welcome to be ported inside and there are options with a pizza place, a greeeeaaat Korean restaurant (Wang Ja Jang) in walking distance. From time to time a food truck will also be outside. Music is played there but needs to be played LOUDER and with more blues, classic rock, etc... to make the bar scene complete. About 6 beers are on tap and they are Q-U-A-L-I-T-Y to match the welcoming staff. As I am on a NE IPA kick, there are 2 (Ghost and Riddles) that will please that palate. So refreshing and citrusy hoppy that it makes the hot days worth it to have one or 2 to cool off. I am not a stout nor sour dude (I mean beer, with beer! Depending on my mood and eating habits my appearance and demeanor CAN be stout and sour from time to time! Anyhoos, the sour beer and the stout have such rich flavor with the stout having blueberry and vanilla- that SO work together in a smooth, not-too-spoon-full-of-sugar, delicious way and the sour beer not being pucker-sour, but rather, a crisp refreshing and friendly change of pace between IPAS. Their hours are accommodating as they open early and stay open late (except for Sundays I think) so anytime is a great time to stop by and keep supporting the Saints Row-steen's rising force (yes, another old timer music reference). read more
